Great video, I used it as my reference when I bought new skates this year. I've recommended your video to my friends looking to buy new skates as well. Thank you for the no-nonsense video.
Thank you WHITTY! I appreciated the FR1 review and you answering the questions I asked you about them a while back. Just purchased a pair of FRX 310 & FR1 310 for my youngster and I. Please keep up the good work 👍
I just upgraded my skates this year after using soft boots and went with the FR2s over the 1s since they come with the rockerable frame and the 1s don’t. Didn’t realize that until I looked into it more, but very happy with the FR2s
Ha! funny. I watched your skate molding with hot gun video because I bought a pair of Imperial jade 4x80 in 42 cause there was no 43. I decided to risk it and indeed the skates were quite narrow for my foot. Definitely not the right size. What I did was to use your technique and expand the toe box. I really had to go to town with them if I wanted to keep them so I did the molding around 8 times until there was enough room. Part of the fact I did it so many times is that I didn't want to make the plastic shiny so I always went carefully. Now I just love those skates. With red laces and red LED wheels they simply look stunning. The Imperial boot/cuff is super stiff (you can tell is plastic and fiberglass), I really love it, definitely one of my fav setups.
I'm 61 but in better shape than most people half my age. Anyway I skated a lot in the mid 90's and got to really love it. I don't know what happened but inline skating died off in Canada and I guess in most other places too. It was huge in the 90's. I drove tour buses and every city I went to had tons of skaters. Y2K came and skating died off. I stopped too. I'd always kept my Bauer carbon hockey skate and I brought them with me when I moved to Taiwan in 2007. Long story short, I got back into skating a couple of years ago here in Taiwan...I guess all the youtube videos got my interest up again. I'm like you...I have bought about 6 pairs of modern skates. I even bought recently the Aeon 80's I want to get into aggressive skating and do some grinds and slides. I just haven't worked up the courage to jump on a rail yet. You look to be doing quite well. I was looking to see if you had a video on grinding...but I didn't see one. What do you think of putting one together? Well...I've talked enough for now. Keep skating. Still love it just as much at 61 as I did back in the day. Take care.
I have a fair amount of footage in the skatepark doing some basic grinds and using the halfpipe. I may put something together in the future but it really isn't all that good.
I experienced similar pain in my Twister X skates and so switched to the Rollerblade RB 80 PRO X. Seems to be the same skate but a wider boot. It is a great skate that is so much more comfortable for me than the Twister X, while still retaining the speed and control. Highly recommended.
Im Only 24 so dont think im that late to the game yet but, You have really inspired me so much. Buying my first skates today, so hopfully 2 years down the line im as good as you were after your 2 years
...you are definitely not late at 24. I bought my first skates last week and am certainly not holding back, having been inspired by my daughter. I am 55.
Seba FR2s were my first skates too, and I echo everything you say. I also have the Aeons, my only aggressive skate. PS Nexts now, with RB Twisters ordered and awaiting arrival. Skates owned tell the story of the owner for sure.
Great video. I've not been skating that long but have tried a few pairs already. I recently got some High Light Carbon 310s and absolutely love them, they fit so much better than anything else I've tried. They also have the wheels set up differently to other 310s - The back and middle wheels are close together and the front one if further away. Also have some FR1s which I had no issues with other than they are a bit big due to the shared shell size (45-47) and have tried Rollerblade Maxxum Edge 125 and Powerslide NEXT Pro 110 (both too narrow).
My favourite skates are the highlight carbon. I'm glad you also love them! I want to try the Powerslide Next. I would be interested to know if they are more comfy than my Imperials.
@@whittyskater From everything I read they are supposed to be. They are slightly wider than a lot of Powerslide skates but not as wide as Seba. The version I bought come with the new SPC liners. The liner seems pretty hard when you get them but from what I read they soften up when heat molded. They also have trinity mounting which is nice. I really liked them just don't work for my feet unfortunately. I really wanted some Wizard skates but just couldn't justify the cost - about 3 times as much as the HL carbons I bought.
@@whittyskater All the reviews are saying the Next is wider than the Imperial. I've got super narrow feet and just ordered some imperials today! Hopefully I will not suffer like you did, though I was watching you mold you Twisters like a ski boot. The widest part of my foot is only 95mm and pretty much every shoe/boot/whatever is always too wide. Thanks for your videos, really relaxing, informative and fun to watch!
Interesting video, showing the qualities or defects of each skate. Particularly I also have a Twister edge x 2018, and I share the opinion about its speed, they are very smooth on the asphalt, and the fit is good that allows you great control.
Nice collection! I prefer to stick to a trusted boot and buy the different size frames..although I've still ended up with loads of pairs of skates haha. I'm a big fan of Seba too, just got the highlight V2s a month ago to replace my maxxum egdes which killed my feet (might have to get the heat-gun on them). Loving them so far. I'm interested to see your new addition!
Hey there, was just wondering if you are thinking of trying out 4x90 or 4x100? Seems like the natural progression for you plus on a side note it seems your boot size is a tad big for the 243mm 4x80s (just imo). Could be better unless you prefer the agility of the 80s. Asking cuz I myself am waiting for my kizer flux 4x90 frames to arrive to fit my PS next 42/43eu boot. Btw nice vid, cheers from sg!
The next frame size I want to try is 4 x 90. I really think this will suit my style of skating. I think they will give a bit more speed but still have good control. I'd be real interested to hear how you get on with those Kizer frames. Keep me posted!
@@whittyskater i have 4 x90 and i found them to be not maneuverable. i like them for long distance. i want to try the endless blading 4x90 frame, i heard it has natural rocker.
@@whittyskater Hey man just got the kizer flux yesterday and tried it out for a session. The ride was really great and smooth! Much more stable and it's easier to jump with the ability to toe flick since half of the front wheel is not extended past my boot/toe. And this was me using 76mm wheels so I can only imagine how much better it is with actual 90mms
I love the video love your style. I have 2 in my collection from oxelo. In my country the good brand's cost a lot. so I hope to buy them soon Love to skate!!
Thanks for your video showing your collection. As a new skater it helps out a lot. I’m curious if you ever had to adjust your frames to get a level foot placement. I just purchased a pair of FR1s and my ankles rolls out. This would mean I’d have to move my frame toward the outside edge. It helps somewhat but I’m wondering if it just not the right shaped boot for my foot.
Any recommendations aside from just simple practice if you transition from quads and find in-line extremely heavy… trying to learn and maneuver seems a bit more time consuming due to weight of skates. Feels like I’m carrying around boulders!! Lol. Is that normal and just a matter of building leg muscles( slim with scrawny legs…)?
so what did the heat-gun do for the boot? was it like a molding thing? I ask because i have tried 3 different roller-blade skates and have had no luck with them. (not when i was younger though i feel as though foot/skate technology has developed exponentially in the past 20 years) but simliar/chronic pain in my bottom left foot right above the inside arch with just about every boot from them ive tried & a few other brands. its possible it could be a form issue on my end. i believe anatomically my foot is not designed for the RB skates. i really lucked out getting my first serious pair after coming off aggressive skating in 2010 to 2015 purchasing my seba trix 2s. even the break in period was minimal to non existent and that is how i measure my foot to skate compatibility with boots. I was a little hesitant because of the price but they ended up being so comfortable i got another back up pair that I test with different tri frames. Comfort, Style, Design, & Performance it hits all marks.
I heat molded the ankle area to push the plastic out a bit to stop it rubbing my ankle. If you look back through my vids you can watch the heat molding vid if you want.
Hi, I'm cheering for this model, but I wanted to ask you? Can you put the velcro heel on the liner ??, this model inside the cuff has the coatings to protect the screws? so they don't damage the boot like the fr1? 3 could you buy the cuff buttons to make it eccentric like the fr1 ?? Thanks
A pair a year. Got it. So I’m a bit premature in looking at getting a set of wheels and bearings? Then again, I want to downsize because my skates are too fast....
Hi there, thanks for the video. I also getting the same issue with the Twister Edge X and ankle pain, Marmite situation. Could you give me some tips on how to use the heat gun to alliviate the issue. Cheers pal
My advice would be to try them on before you buy them if you can. They are both very good skates but the boots are very different fits. Personally I would choose the FRs because they are a more comfy boot for my foot.
I really enjoy your videos. I'm in the process of buying new skates so your videos are helping a lot. I've tried on the RB Maxxum Edge 90 and Next 100. Both have pressure points at the ankle though. So before using a heat gun on the Rollerblade, I guess I should try Sebas as they're supposed to be comfortable. I wonder if the price difference between FR1 and FR3 is justified though. Also, I'm slightly concerned about the wheel size. I want something larger than 80mm because most trails around here have grainy, uneven surface. However I come from 72mm, so 110 seems huge. Plus, I'm used to having a break. I can do the t-stop but I don't nearly stop as fast. So it makes me feel a bit insecure. I'm not sure if a break can be mounted on the FR1 310 at least while I figure out other techniques.
Hope you find some skates that work for you. The FRs tend to fit a little wider and have a thicker liner so you shouldn't get any pressure points. Not sure about a brake for the 310s. Best to ask a skate shop about that.
@@whittyskater Thanks for the quick reply! Getting in touch with skate shops is not easy these days unfortunately ;) So I try to find information via other channels. Thoughts about FR1 vs FR3? I read the technical details but I'm not sure how they translate in skating and how much they matter. It's a 100€ difference in price.
@@celine8811 looking at the specs it seems the FR1 has 'better' frame and wheels for the most part. The FR3 though will still be great quality. I'd probanly go for FR3 to start out with. You can always upgrade the frame and wheels at a later date.
I had to heat mold my Imperial fatboy liners 4 times before they finally broke into my foot properly. Literally the longest skate I've ever owned to break in. I changed the wheels and added a color kit and super feet yellow insoles. They went from my worst feeling Big wheels skate to one of the best for distance. Took me a whole year though lol.
Have you tried the fat boys in the FRs? Of course then it will probably be too short so you will need to take out the insole. Or put an extra insole under the original liner. or heat them and tighten them as much as possible.
hello, congratulations on the channel. i would like to ask you for some advice, i currently skate with a seba frx 80 with ilq9 bearings, i am really happy with my skate, a very good purchase at a good price for me, now i would like to take a leap forward. i would like to upgrade to a faster model. I'm not sure whether to get an FR1 310 or switch to another brand. could you help me?
I’ve had my RB twister edge X’s for about a year and a half and I’m looking for a new pair-my top choice are the FR 1 as of right now, just wondering if anyone else thinks these might be the best upgrade?
I love your relaxed review style. Honest and to the point. I just got a new pair of FR1 - 110 and I'm having issues with the fit. Is there a trick to getting a comfy fit with the buckles and cuff? I'm coming from speedskates and have looked on RUclips for a setup guide with no luck. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for watching. I guess the FR1s will be a very different fit to a speed skate. I think you will just have to play around with the various buckles. They are all quite adjustable. For example you can move the cuff bolt into 4 different positions to either move it up or down a bit or forward and backward. I think you might just have to do a bit of trial and error. Good luck!
I've got some cheapo to start off with, but in the spring I hope to get something from £140 - £160. Any recommendations and what wheels for predominantly skating on concrete, tarmac and asphalt surfaces?
Hello! I noticed all of your Seba skate cuffs are set back. Is there any particular reason for that setup? I want to start trying different cuff setups with my High Light V2s but I can't find a whole lot of info on what each position is really suited for.
Just found your channel after buying some vintage Boxcar Street Rollerblades to get back into skating having not done it for 20 years and wondering if you think relearning on such old 'agressive' skates is a good idea? The skates feel good and I have confidence in them but have never grinded or done tricks before but would like to try in the future. Anyway thanks so much for your videos and I wish RUclips was around the last time I was getting into skating as it's a lot easier than trying to find VHS skate videos 😁
@@whittyskater thanks again for your videos and reply 👏 I've just actually ordered the Flying Eagle F5S Eclipse skates as I saw them in stock online at a good price but just hope they are true size fitting like they are advertised 🤞.
Hey bro nice videos, I am looking to buy my first pair of skates, I'm a beginner and based near Central London, what would you recommend between fr1/fr3 or the rollerblade twister edge x, any advice would be much appreciated 😁
I would go for FR3s as a beginner. Not too expensive but will be great skates that will last you a long time. Easy to swap out other frames as well in the future.
I just got back into skating after 25 years, again. I purchased the twister edge x 2020 (with the blue instead of the red) I really, really like them. I suppose I possibly for lucky with the fit. Anyway, you were my first channel that I subbed to, too refresh my memory on skating. I love your channel. I'm 45 years old, now. I'm now scared of doing the things I used to do when I was younger. (I miss those days. It was fun) Anyway, I still have fun skating, even without all the jumping over things. Thank you for your videos. They really motivate me to keep skating. Just one thing though, what's your advice on getting more speed? I want to go faster. Should I improve on my form? Can you do a video on that?
Thanks for watching. As you get back into skating you will just naturally gain more confidence. There will still be muscle memory even after 25 years! I'm pretty certain you will gain more speed as your technique improves. Just go with the flow and you'll soon improve.
Hi WHITTYskater, Can i ask what trainer / shoe / Mondo size you are and what size Twister X you decide upon? Do you have much wiggle room, and any space in front of your toes? I'm Mondo 28.5 and have a pair of EUR 45 on order. Thanks, really enjoyed watching.
My regular shoe size is eu 43 and so are my Twisters. They are a snug fit. My toes touch the end of the liner but this is no problem as its neoprene. The liner is a few mm's from the end if the boot so no problem there either. Overall I like the fit.
I have FR1 and I admit that I really am drawn to the twister edge for it's reputation of being very tight and responsive. The fit of the fr1 is comfy, but a bit _too much_: I feel like I have no control on them, even if they are all closed. I've been skating for a long time and I don't have much money so I have to really think before I buy. Do you have any advice? I've been skating for 7 years
The twister edge are a much tighter fitting skate. Personally they are not as comfy as my FR1s but they are a skate that offers lots of control. I have had issues with rubbing which has mostly been solved by taking a heat gun to the plastic. Whether you should get them is up to you. Ideally try before you buy. I have done quite a few vids featuring the twisters so maybe check them out in order to hear my thoughts on them.
What's your opinion on carbon skates? I'm 99% sure I want to make my own custom Powerslide hardcore evo pro 2021 boot on their website, I do a mix of urban and distance skating so heat molding the entire boot to my foot sounds like a good way to keep comfort for both types of skating.
My seba highlight carbons are the best skates I own. Super comfy, super responsive. If you are willing to pay alot if £££'s, carbon is probably worth it.
Well I keep buying small upgrades and improvements then selling the old ones at a discount, so I figured it will save me money in the long run if I buy a pair that will last me years and years. I've got the money to spare and having my own unique colour scheme is pretty awesome! I'd show you but I don't think you can attach images in a comment, hah! I'll go ahead and order them since you've confirmed my question, appreciate it!
Hello, thank you for your videos. I have one question: is it possible to use a FR spoiler with the High light Carbon? I ask that because I am looking for better ankle support, and the high carbon sploiler is a little to flexible for me. Thx!
Thanks for watching. I wasn't sure so I've tried it but ultimately it doesn't really fit properly. I've added some pictures to my instagram page if you want to see. @whittyskater.
i have been skaeting, since i was 10 now im 36, i had some bravoblade that last me 22 years, but the boot finally broke, having such a good expirience with roller blade i was really into buying twister edge, but your comment let me doubt (and i can not try them ,they dont have them in chile, i will have to order them online) i never tried a seba skate, but i had those wheel and for me were the worst wheel ever, they were very sliperry , i was tryng to put myself to stop and was very slow reaction (any opinion regarding that), so i dont trust seba, byt everybody say that they are great,so i dont know maybe power slide? thanks
Hey dude, love your videos! Wondered if you could help me, I want Michael Prado Gawds boots (aggressive) with 3x110 wheels and frame. Do you think this would work for long distance? Im a beginner and currently working on stopping using your tutorial in my crappy £50 4x80 skates but want to walk my dog and commute in some bad ass Gawds (12 mile round trip). What do you think? Cheers man, love your work 🤘
Don't know much about aggressive boots tbh but 110mm will work for long distance ok. The bigger wheels will help maintain speed and make long distance easier than on smaller wheels.
@@whittyskater cheers for the reply man, this is why I want 3x110s from this video advice too. I just hope the aggressive boot will be comfy enough for long distance as I love the look of the aggressive boots and not so much the look of the freeskate boot. Thanks very much man, keep the videos coming, I love them, they are super motivational! 👍👊
@@DannyBoy293 no worries buddy. Hope you find some good boots. Just remember that the frames required for aggressive boots are a bit different to those for freestyle so check before you buy! You probably already know this though.
Nice to see another video come up, how are you coping with isolation? When I got my FRX80s I tried on a pair of powerslides, I think it was the zoom, but I really didnt find them comfortable, so I agree with you the FR skates are great. I'm planning on getting a pair of Aeon 60s to learn grinds also, planning on making a playrail to learn in my garden, but I have to find somewhere to buy wood.
The Seba highlight carbons are now the FR Igor. I too dont know the exact thing that happened with Seba but I believe Seba split into FR and Micro, if you look at Micro skates their models look the same, I heard it was something about the chinese manufacturer.
Seba and FR are now two different brands but still belong to the same company Universkate SARL, based in Ivry-sur-Seine, France. Micro Skates has nothing to do with them. It's only a Chinese company which has replicated (illegally) some Seba models. If you want authentic inline skates focus on Seba or FR Skates and please, forget Micro. Another point, the Seba Highlight Carbon and the FR Igor are two different skates, including their respective price. If you can afford the Igor, go ahead, you won't be disappointed.
@@emmanuelriou7174 thanks for the info, I'd read on a reddit post that Seba had split, and that the company that became Micro skates was originally the manufacturer of the skates which is why they had all the molds. There is a lack of information on what happened though, no official word it just seems to be mainly hearsay from fans/skaters.
Thanks for watching. Isololation is boring but ok! We are allowed to exercise once a day so am using this to skate. I also made my own rail when I first got my Aeons. Pretty easy to do (if you have wood!)
@@whittyskater yeah I was still learning how to stop so I'm still not completely confident skating street, and I dont think its allowed to be at the local basketball courts practicing as we're not meant to loiter. Our local B&Q has just reopened, so I should be able to get some wood and PVC pipe but the queues have been in excess of an hour, which I feel adds risk.
Hey Mate, great review! QQ, I have been on FR2 80s for two years now(am 40 and they are my first skates) am in the market for my best step. I really like the FR1 310 but worried they won’t be stable for a beginner? How you compare them to the 80’s please?
Thanks for watching. I skated 80mm for about 2 years begore I got my FR1 310s. I'm sure you will be fine. Bigger wheels take a bit of getting used to but if you have 2 years of experience it will not be a problem.
I started blading last year with some thriftstore salomon rec blades. Then I felt, I was gettin into this blading thing. Based on Whttyskater's comment on the FR1 310, i bought the FRX 310 (cheaper), loved them immediately and still rock them. Unfortunately I broke my arm in them last year.. You've got to be care with 'em big wheels - the height, instability and speed you get outta them could rec harm if you don't place your weight properly on them. I am still loving them though as they help me with the right skating technique when I transition to ice. Point to note about them: the frame is really short and if you are not careful, a little weight in the front will tip you over and if that speed is high (110mm), then you might be in for a bad day. But they are lovely to ride in.
and your next skates are gto's? the adapt symetrics wheels are amazing (i tested them and they are my main wheels now) but i don't know about the whole skates.. they look fantastic tho but didnt try them because of.. yeah the price xD btw you are on of the reasons i started skating again.. along with Bill, Tiago, Ricardo an Shaun. And my childhood of coursen (and rocona (yeye its a nickname) but plz dont give that sht attention) Thx guys!
After this video I went with the endless frame and fr1 boot. All my videos since then have shown the evolution of this setup. A year later and I'm still loving it!
Good video as always. A lot of scuff marks on those skates 😀 good (means you been putting them through their paces ) As I mentioned on Instagram I got new Powerslide zoom 100 skates Saturday. Taken them out Sunday and Monday (rain today) Thinking of making a first impression video in the next week . All the best mate. Stay healthy and keep safe
I love my twisters from rollerblade. The FR3s gave me terrible blisters. I used the FR3s for 5 miles and got bloody blisters. They were too small even tho I order a half size bigger than my shoe size. Terrible
hi do you find the top strap on the sebra high light carbon 80 really bad ??? ive just brought my 3rd pair of boots /you suggested to me buying the fr1 which i did and totallly love but this boot i can't get the top strap any where as tight as i can on the fr1. any suggestions ?
Not bad but I kind of know what you mean. I have always managed to get mine tight enough but agree it isn't quite as tight fitting as the FR1. However as the highlight is a much snugger fitting boot I've always found it ok.
Thank you for the review Whitty! High quality information for someone like me who wants a new pair of skates. When you mentioned the “true size” of FR1 gives you better control, do you mean the regular size of your running shoes or a size smaller? I did some online and find people saying the liner will break in and become one full size larger, so one should choose one size smaller when buying skates?
Hey there. At one point in the video you said you would recommend any beginner a FR1. It is going outside my budget. But I will be able to buy FRX. Do you recommend it for a beginner?
Hey there! Quick question, if you have the time. Everyone always tells, that carbon skates are the best, and i can imagine, and really want to try one. But I was wondering, if you already have a carbon, why would you go back to plastic skates? Is it just the feeling, or is there something that they can provide, that carbon can not? And as always, I admire your work, keep it up, and have a wonderful day!
The plastic boot is just more robust and can take alot of abuse. I love the carbons though and if you want a premium setup with the most control and precision that's the way to go.
I've been using an intuition liner now for about a year. Love it. Don't have wizards but do have endless frame which is very similar and again love it.
@@whittyskater thanks for the reply, actually noticed the intuitions in your later videos, ty. I'm also rocking FR intuition, and just ordered some endless, can't wait
Just out of interest, it would be great to know which UK size you take in each skate? Whilst you obviously have your shoe size and others have theirs, it's always interesting to know as a comparison of which skates fit larger or smaller.
@@whittyskater So your FR2, FR1 and Highlights are all the same size? I have been told that the FR1 is a size larger than then Highlight. Interesting, thanks.
I should clarify that my FR1 and highlights are both UK 9. The highlights though are a much tighter fitting skate as they mainly designed for slalom where a snug fit is important. My original FR2s were actually size 10.5 (eu 45) but they were always a little big for me. If you can, always try before you buy because skates by the same company can vary slightly depending on what type of skate it is. In terms of Seba, google 'seba size chart'. This will give you a breakdown of how they size their skates. Note: The Frs use a dual shell system so will generally be bigger than a soft shell skate
Good info, Mate. I got my Seba FR1's around 08/09 and they're still probably the best skates I own for overall use - still so comfy. Also on the Rollerblade front; I was tempted by the Twisters but opted for the Metroblades and have never looked back.
This is great! Thanks! Great Collection! : ) I am looking at the FRX 80 as potentially my first rollerblades, very exciting! I was actually looking at the Zetrablade Rollerblade, as I like the soft show. The FRX 80 would be top of my budget for now. I was told that maybe a harder shell for learning could be good. Just wondering your thoughts, or any recommendations for my first pair. Big Thanks, Chris
Frx 80 will be a good skate. My first pair were the fr2s so very similar....they were brilliant to learn in and can take alot of abuse so won't break on you.
I absolutely despise the current ski boot looking rollerblade line personally, I’ve heard mostly good things but would never own one because of this... it’s too bad. Fr2 80s and remz owner myself.
That's quite an impressive collection. But your skill level at four years of inline skating proves that quality pays off. I'm curious what will be next on your journey of finding your perfect skate.
I think good quality skates are so much better. I would always recommend to even a beginner to try and buy as good a skates as you can afford. I'm always looking for the perfect skate!
@@whittyskater so definitely not something like Zetrablade? I can only buy online and all these fit issues scare me from risking on an expensive skate. Aren't cheaper soft boots generally recommended for beginners?
@@simstar6557 skates that have higher price than Zetrablade are usually heat moldable so even if it's tight it can easily be fixed. also, before purchase you can contact the official brands directly and have a discussion with them and tell them your foot size, etc. you can buy a hard shell skate even if you're a beginner. cheap or expensive is dependent on your budget. if you have the budget you can buy an expensive skate even if you're a beginner. eventually, you'll want to buy a better pair which obviously will be more expensive so why not buy it from the start if you can afford for it?
"I think good quality skates are so much better. I would always recommend to even a beginner to try and buy as good a skates as you can afford." ...fully agree, @@whittyskater - I reckon this is probably the best advice you could give to a beginner.
I need your help!!!🚨⚠️ I'm not a beginner but I have lost my roller skates and I need to but new ones. The thing is that I need them to be affordable and I need them to do well with concrete and sometimes sand! Because I live in a city with bumpy roads and we have a bike road only near the sea (and that's where the sand part comes). Do you have anything in mind? P.S. the wheels of my last skates got beat up even though I dont do a lot of tricks. Thank you in advance!❤
@@whittyskater that shows the passion you actually have for the sport. And that's why I regard your content as a true goto..your skills, knowledge of gear, tutorials etc.. Props to you bro
No... Forget Rollerblade. Stick with FR, Seba, Micro, Flying Eagle and Powerslide. You seem more comfortable with the freestyle type boots and setups. Although I'd highly recommend the Seba SX.. Personally I'd never skate anything that's not as stiff as my Highlight Carbons. I'd also recommend switching your cuff on the highlights for an Igor cuff... It's a game changer
How many hours do you skate when you skate on average? I read somewhere you skated 4 to 5 days a week, but, if I'm not mistaken, your answer didn't include the number of minutes / hours each session was. :)
@@whittyskater Hey! 🖐 What will you say: Powerslide or FR Skates? I read a lot, and powerslide doesn’t have so many good reviews as a FR Skates. You could write down your top of 5 best brands of in-lines (just your opinion). It would be useful. Good luck! ✌️
Seems weird to buy a whole new pair of skates to just ride 3 wheels when you already have a pair of Seba FR1 that fit you well. you can buy 3x100, 3x110 and 3x125 frames, all of them work on the same Seba FR boot you already have and is the same exact boot they sell with their 310 and 325 skates, only difference is the frames and wheels that come with it. so you can save a lot of money by just collecting frames and wheels and swap em out for what your in the mood for. But anyways if you dont like the fit of those red FR tri skates then you should strip them of their parts and then sell them, give them to a friend or throw them in the trash. Only use the ones you like and swap frames as needed. Never buy the same pair of skates twice.
Personally prefer not to keep having to swap out frames so like to have various boots even if they are the same. Also if you buy frame, wheels and bearings all seperately it is nearly the same price as a whole skate. Each to their own though.
Thanks for your awesome videos. I learned much from you. thank for that. I just have a request to made. it might sound silly, but I just thought express my self. I noticed (at 0:19) that there is a statue of Lord Buddha who is my life teacher just left on the ground near the plant. if you can kindly keep it on higher place or hand it over to a Buddhist Temple. Buddhism is not in a statue. that is true but as respecting my teacher, I just made the request. Thanks.
U are a Motivation Factor specially for those Starting Skating Lately..
Keep Motivating.
Thank you so much!
let me guess, keep, but not enough. Just move your ass on skates!
Love your video's! Because of your video's i started inline skating at 33. Loving it. Thanks for bringing good vibes. ✌️
Thanks for watching. It's great that you started skating.
Great video, I used it as my reference when I bought new skates this year. I've recommended your video to my friends looking to buy new skates as well. Thank you for the no-nonsense video.
Thanks alot buddy.
You keep saying Hello World, like you're a developer :)
Thank you WHITTY! I appreciated the FR1 review and you answering the questions I asked you about them a while back. Just purchased a pair of FRX 310 & FR1 310 for my youngster and I. Please keep up the good work 👍
That's awesome. Hope you both like them.
As always very honest and informative 👍🏼 thanks.
Thank you!
I enjoy watching your review on RUclips on inline skates. I haven't made a purchase yet but listening to reviews helps guide me on selection.
Thanks for watching
What ones did you end up getting, if you did get some
@@donikaj7805 I ended up purchasing the Red FR Skate
@@AlejandroRodriguez-xn3he how are they
I'm 61 but in better shape than most people half my age.
Thanks for the info and glad they are have worked out for you
Im Only 24 so dont think im that late to the game yet but, You have really inspired me so much. Buying my first skates today, so hopfully 2 years down the line im as good as you were after your 2 years
That's awesome. Good luck.
...you are definitely not late at 24. I bought my first skates last week and am certainly not holding back, having been inspired by my daughter. I am 55.
Which ones did you get?
@@donikaj7805 Hi) 🖐 Write your Instagram down 😊
Seba FR2s were my first skates too, and I echo everything you say. I also have the Aeons, my only aggressive skate. PS Nexts now, with RB Twisters ordered and awaiting arrival. Skates owned tell the story of the owner for sure.
Sounds like you and me have very similar taste in skates!
Thanks for the info. I would also really like to try wizards but they are just so expensive.
I live in Kenya and I love your videos wish I could get myself a pair of those Seba skates they look quite good
Hello in Kenya. Yes they are great skates. Try LOCOSKATES. They are a shop based in the UK but they ship worldwide
Thanks a lot for this video. I was looking for a new pair of skate and was hesitating between those models. It's helping me a lot.
Glad it helped you out. Thanks for watching
Did you end up getting any
Really helpful video! Interesting too that high spec 4x80 can be as fast as 3x110.
Interesting video, showing the qualities or defects of each skate. Particularly I also have a Twister edge x 2018, and I share the opinion about its speed, they are very smooth on the asphalt, and the fit is good that allows you great control.
Thanks for watching. The Twisters are very fast skates. I love this about them .
Awesome stuff. If coronavirus ever lifts, I recommend visiting Germany/Switzerland for a Skatenight! They're very fun :) It's something different.
Sounds good!
Glad you are liking the highlights. They are my best fitting skates for me. Did the V2 version come with a flat or rockered frame?
They came flat. The frame is so good but it's a bit short for my boot size, so I've put a 255mm 4x84 frame on instead
Cheers buddy. I may get some V2s in the future so good to know.
Great video, seba highlight with your 125 and 110 frames will kick ass!!
Yeah I'm sure it would!
Thanks for the update. Glad you are liking them
I love the video love your style.
I have 2 in my collection from oxelo.
In my country the good brand's cost a lot. so I hope to buy them soon
Love to skate!!
Thank you for watching. Glad you like my style! 🙏
I just adjust my frame at the front slightly towards my inside edge. Just 2mm though. This just helps with turning.
great video, I agree with you with the Twister Edge, I returned them.
Riding fr3, and buy fr1 for my wife. Both are 80mm and it's really good stuff for city skating
I agree!
so what did the heat-gun do for the boot? was it like a molding thing?
Have you tried the FR SKATES FR1 DELUXE INTUITION 80? Looks like a real comfy popular set
Hi there, thanks for the video. I also getting the same issue with the Twister Edge X and ankle pain, Marmite situation. Could you give me some tips on how to use the heat gun to alliviate the issue. Cheers pal
Check out the video I did showing you how to use a heat gun. Posted it about a year ago.
Hello, I'm planning to buy a new skate next month and I'm between the Rollerblade Twister 110 and Seba FR1 325, do you have any advice?
Glad you got there in the end!
Have you tried the fat boys in the FRs? Of course then it will probably be too short so you will need to take out the insole. Or put an extra insole under the original liner. or heat them and tighten them as much as possible.
The fat boys are quite slim so don't really work with my FRs which are quite wide.
Beo que tal van los imperial..he comprado los black red 110 ...he leido que se rompen facil😢...que opinas?😅
Yes! I had those aeons! Where o where is that rail/skatepark? Looks lovely.
It's Cirencester. Not far away! It's a great skatepark. Give it a google. It also has an older halfpipe and 1/4 pipe area.
hello, congratulations on the channel. i would like to ask you for some advice, i currently skate with a seba frx 80 with ilq9 bearings, i am really happy with my skate, a very good purchase at a good price for me, now i would like to take a leap forward. i would like to upgrade to a faster model.
I'm not sure whether to get an FR1 310 or switch to another brand. could you help me?
I'd go with the FR310. I can only recommend skates I've actually used.
I'd recommend FRX's
I think as long as the skates are comfy and work for you it doesn't matter how old they are. Enjoy getting back into skating.
@@whittyskater thanks again for your videos and reply 👏 I've just actually ordered the Flying Eagle F5S Eclipse skates as I saw them in stock online at a good price but just hope they are true size fitting like they are advertised 🤞.
Sounds good. Let me know how you get on with them. Flying Eagle is a brand I'd like to try at some point.
@@whittyskater they seem to have decent reviews online and people over on Reddit seem to rate them but will update here IF they fit nice 🤞
Hi WHITTYskater,
Can i ask what trainer / shoe / Mondo size you are and what size Twister X you decide upon?
Is it possible for you to put the Fat Boy liner into the red FR 1 310, that way you don't have to wear two pairs of socks?
The Fatboy liner is thinner than the FR1 liner so I would need 3 pairs of socks!
@@whittyskater Thank you! Sur it doesn't fit perfectly but it seems ok though.

It did. Made them more comfortable. Not perfect but better than before

i have been skaeting, since i was 10 now im 36, i had some bravoblade that last me 22 years, but the boot finally broke, having such a good expirience with roller blade i was really into buying twister edge, but your comment let me doubt (and i can not try them ,they dont have them in chile, i will have to order them online)
i never tried a seba skate, but i had those wheel and for me were the worst wheel ever, they were very sliperry , i was tryng to put myself to stop and was very slow reaction (any opinion regarding that), so i dont trust seba, byt everybody say that they are great,so i dont know
maybe power slide?

Of the skates I own I would recommend the FR1s. You could always swap out the wheels for others if you don't like them.
But they are lovely to ride in.
and your next skates are gto's? the adapt symetrics wheels are amazing (i tested them and they are my main wheels now) but i don't know about the whole skates.. they look fantastic tho but didnt try them because of.. yeah the price xD
btw you are on of the reasons i started skating again.. along with Bill, Tiago, Ricardo an Shaun.
A lot of scuff marks on those skates 😀 good (means you been putting them through their paces )
As I mentioned on Instagram I got new Powerslide zoom 100 skates Saturday. Taken them out Sunday and Monday (rain today) Thinking of making a first impression video in the next week .

@@whittyskater Thanks .i might have to make a few changes . which might include using a 3 d printer. cheers
I mean your regular shoe size. Most of my skates are EU43 the same as all my shoes.
@@whittyskater I see. Thanks Whitty, that helps me decide the size :) Buying a pair of FR soon!
Hey there. At one point in the video you said you would recommend any beginner a FR1. It is going outside my budget. But I will be able to buy FRX. Do you recommend it for a beginner?
FRX will be ideal for a beginner
@@whittyskater many thanks, dear 🙏
What kind of knee protection are you wearing?
I'm still searching for the right ones for me.
REKD knee gaskets
@@whittyskater Thank you very much!
Nice quiver!
Are you every going to try the intuition liner, and look to get into the wizard stuff?
I've been using an intuition liner now for about a year. Love it. Don't have wizards but do have endless frame which is very similar and again love it.
@@whittyskater thanks for the reply, actually noticed the intuitions in your later videos, ty.
I'm also rocking FR intuition, and just ordered some endless, can't wait
haha these seba rollerblades i have too, my first one too :) and yes i agree with that they are amazing.
Yes they are great skates.
Just out of interest, it would be great to know which UK size you take in each skate? Whilst you obviously have your shoe size and others have theirs, it's always interesting to know as a comparison of which skates fit larger or smaller.
All my skates are a UK9 / EU43. My regular shoe size is also UK9.
Hi, can you recommend some trusted online inline skate shops in the UK?
I use Locoskates and Slick Willies.
Try SEBA CJ on some UFS Freeskate Frame you will be amazed how much stability you will bet on flat fsk frame ;)
Seba CJ are a little wide for my foot unfortunately
Can you try the twister edge 3x110 wheels
I will do one day but not really a setup I'm interested in trying just now sorry.
@@whittyskater what about powerslide next pro?
Hey keep a good work, did you ever owned soft boot skates? My first pair was soft fitness skates
Take care
Good info, Mate. I got my Seba FR1's around 08/09 and they're still probably the best skates I own for overall use - still so comfy. Also on the Rollerblade front; I was tempted by the Twisters but opted for the Metroblades and have never looked back.
FR1s are just awesome skates. I don't think they have changed the design much in 10 years as they just work.
Do you find the fr1 liner loosens over time?
SEBA remains the best brand out there
greetings, and wich is your favorite between the fr1 and the twister, I appreciate you answer :)
The FR1
Just to have an idea, what size are your feet in cm? And what skate size you buy?
Most of my skates are eu43
Do you have any experience with flying eagle inline skates?
No. I'd like to try them though
I would always recommend to even a beginner to try and buy as good a skates as you can afford."
...fully agree, @@whittyskater - I reckon this is probably the best advice you could give to a beginner.
Is there a reason you went with the FR1 310 instead of the FRX, FR3, or FR2?
Just wanted the best quality skate.
I need your help!!!🚨⚠️
I'm not a beginner but I have lost my roller skates and I need to but new ones.
I would recommend FR Skates Fr3s. They are affordable and very similar to FR1s.
@@whittyskater thank you soooo much😍
Man!! you are loaded.. those skates ain't cheap.. I mean none of them!!!
Nope I'm not loaded. I wish! Saved up for all my skates. And remember these were bought over a 4 year period.
@@whittyskater that shows the passion you actually have for the sport. And that's why I regard your content as a true goto..your skills, knowledge of gear, tutorials etc.. Props to you bro
Cheers buddy. Really appreciate your nice words. 🙏👊
Comfort aside, can you make any remarks about the quality of the imperial?
The quality is ok I think. The shell seems robust although I don't feel the buckles/straps are as good quality as SEBA/FR.
@@whittyskater ok that makes sense, as these are not as high end as either of those bands. Thanks for the content! Keep skating!
Thanks for watching 🙏👍
Why did you buy the same FR boot like 4 times 😆
How is sizing for the Fr1's 80mm?
I went with my regular shoe size
@@whittyskater Nice! And it feels correct?
So if your Seba highlights are your favourites, then why skate anything else?
Which are the best skate for speed?
Out of the skates in this video the Rollerblade Twisters
How many hours do you skate when you skate on average? I read somewhere you skated 4 to 5 days a week, but, if I'm not mistaken, your answer didn't include the number of minutes / hours each session was. :)
Generally 1 to 1.5 hours
@@whittyskater damn nice time! Thanks man, still loving your videos haha
To say I’m impressed with your collection would be an understatement. 🙌🏾 I have to ask, what do you think of the brand “Rollerblade”?
I think they make good skates.
@@whittyskater Hey! 🖐 What will you say: Powerslide or FR Skates? I read a lot, and powerslide doesn’t have so many good reviews as a FR Skates. You could write down your top of 5 best brands of in-lines (just your opinion). It would be useful. Good luck! ✌️
I'm 6'7" tall, size 11 US shoe, extremely flat feet.
Just don't know what triskate is best for me.
I would suggest getting yourself to a skate shop when you can. You can then try on a few different makes.
@@whittyskater there isn't ant skate shops in a 30 mile radius :(
@@TheKotaCan tri skates suck if you have big feet, rockererd 4x100mm set up or maybe a marathon 3x125mm frame
@@Bratox187 thanks for tips!
Do you always remove the break on the skate?
Personally I don't ever use the heel break. But it's personal choice. If you like using it, keep it.
What are your favourite skates?
Seba highlight
Thanks.
Would you be willing to sell some of your skates or parts?
Sorry no
