Nice video at an awesome location. Piece of warning for beginners: the parallel slide is a pretty advance move. You should try it on smooth surface and only when you've mastered the easier stopping techniques (e.g. power slide)
Well, I think the power slide is not optimal stopping method for beginners eather due that it's not very easy. I think for the beginners the Drag stop(where you drag your other skate sideways behind) is propably the easiest and still quite efficient method for stopping. I am a beginner for myself.
Wow, its great to see someone doing inline videos....cripes I still have my Majestic 13's but I never thought Id see inlines come back in any way, this is a nice surprise.
Thanks for the tips. I just picked up skating after 15 + years of not doing it. I learned the power slide on my own but was to scared to attempt a parallel slide. I'm going to give these tips a try next time I pop my skates on keep up the great tutorials.
So, basically 180 and then look at the leg you're pushing out. Clear and beautiful, thanks! _aaaaaaand_ then a bunch of steps I need to get to. Some day.
Very good timing, I have just started working on this and now that you have explained it I will have it down in a couple of weeks, so thanks Danny, but please don't make me wait so long for one of your tutorial videos again, I know that you are probably busy but you explain and simplify so well, I watch for your videos on youtube every day looking for Danny's tips so again thanks but MORE please.
thanks mr danny! no one ever talked about the second part for parallel slides on the inside foot ! thats been my problem actually so i m sure to try it out. thx indeed
very helpful! i've been having trouble with the second foot, getting the inside leg/outside edge to slide, and this is a great way to isolate and just practice this part of the parallel slide! thank you!!
He makes the parallel sliding seem so easy, hahahahahaha, I have been practicing for weeks and still couldn't find the right angle to do it without falling.
Great parallel slide explanation. Thanks for posting this. Powerslide came pretty easy to me. Parallel - another matter altogether! Just need to trust that outside edge of the inner skate and my ability to control it.
I really like your videos, their artistic, informative and you just seem to have a really nice and pleasant personality. I am going to pick up a pair of RB 80 pro's today. I haven't been on rollerblades since I was a kid. I am not even sure you could call them rollerblades; they were fast tracks, where you would keep your shoe on and attach it to the frame and wheels by using the ankle and 45 degree straps. Talk about old school. I did play hockey for 16 years though so I am expecting to pick it up fairly quickly. I am very excited. I live in Toronto so it's going to be a lot of fun! Anyways, thanks for all the good videos my friend!
Absolutely amazing tutorial. I’d like to add (2) things. One, this is a lot easier on wheels larger than 60mm with a narrow profile. Secondly, I would warn about the dangers of sliding at an angle below 45° and the dangers of not keeping your feet shoulder-width apart. Sliding with inadequate feet spacing or at the wrong angle can cause you to slide out and fall backwards.
wrist gaurds are a must for me. don’t need much else besides mabey knee pads but thoes rarely get wore bc i don’t fall on my knees anymore and they are such a hassle
I honestly look forward to that inevitable time when rollerblading gets back its support by the masses. I miss it but all of my pairs have been stolen or never returned and now I can’t justify rebuying until there’s some big modern-age advancement. I want Rollerblade to be the pioneer to whatever new twist that is. Maybe it’s a much slicker version of a strap-on skate where you only dip your shoe’s toes into the front housing, then the rest of the skate relies on strapping a stiff vertical braces around your lower ankle, somehow preventing rolling of your foot while giving you a secure bond to the skate. Snowboards have developed quick locks , maybe shoe design will eventually include compatible rollerblade locks for that same minimalist desire.
David Swanson 1 year ago "I honestly look forward to that inevitable time when rollerblading gets back its support by the masses" Welcome to 2020, when skates are flying off the digital shelves again thanks to a global pandemic!
I have the same wheels and your wheels are have a even wear, now I know I'm doing something wrong i get that deep angled edging. So I've became a master breaker, plus I have a lot of hills which made me keep my break on to.
It might be your stride that's causing that uneven wheel wear. You might try adjusting your frames to more inside or outside. I had the same problem. I also noticed that I was pushing off with my toes instead of my heels. And when I was striding my foot was at a lateral angle instead of being straight.
WoOOoW!!! Aí cê falou fessor!!! Danny come skate with me in Belo Horizonte - Brazil. smooth asphalt without holes and paths with challenges for all levels. you'll love it.
Essas explicações dos movimentos são demais. Nos ajudam a entender os movimentos de maneira simples. Agora é tentar reproduzir na prática. Bem que poderiam colocar as legendas em português.
For the Parallel Slide, do i put weight on my inner leg( with reference to the video's example, the right foot) as I start to cut in and slide, and then keep it there all the way, or do I shift my weight outwards to the outer leg (the left foot) and then balance it out as i hold that position?? What about my upper body? And where do i keep looking at?
Interesting video. Thanks to you guys... I can’t understand how someone as tall as Danny doesn’t scratch the inside part of the front skate in 80mm... I’m desperately trying to get this concept. Any help?
Is this also possible with agressive inline skates? Iam always afraid of touching the ground with my soulplate (which often happens when i try to do powerslides or powerstops at high speed). The problem with most sliding stop is: The more speed you have, the more you have to bend your knees and get a nice small angle. And thats the point when the soulplate touches the ground and you slip out. Does anybody has a solution to this?
When trying to learn in the inside leg slide during the tutorial, is this similar to learning how to perform a Acid Slide? I am working on my weight and balance!
I think this is the best explanation of parallel sliding I've seen on RUclips! So helpful!!
i wish every country had smooth streets in every inch..
ikr
I feel your painnnn
That would be called dreamworld or heaven!!!
I feel you
You have suv skates 🤯

Danny (and Rollerbalde) these Danny's Point videos are truly exceptional. Danny is natural teacher.
Amazing tutorial.. I've always been apprehensive of stopping like this, but after this explanation I feel ready to tackle it. Thanks!
Great explanation, gonna try that when the weather gets acceptable over here, in Prague. Thanks.
It is if like these guys are skating on ice! Good hint to have hard wheels!
I really appreciate these videos man. Freakin legendary explanation.
Best explanation and brakedown of the parallel slide! THANKS Danny!
yep next time some little kid asks me how i slide like that i will answer "THE FORCE"
This whole video is "absolutely beautiful"! Thanks for sharing - can't wait to practice!

One of the best practices video for the parallel slides 👍👍👍
Totally agree that a parallel slide is alot about feel. Nice explanation.

Thumbs up for using the force.
Man. By far the best video I've seen on this slide stop. Thanks bro 🙌🏾

Thank you very very much. I found it the easiest technique to learn stop.

Thank you Danny! And thanks Mr. Mario!
currently using the same boots as Mario great to see on same boots great tips will be keeping note . need pads though knees are scarred / cut upp
Great video!
May the force be with you!
I tried every way to try to do this hockey stop. And this way seems like it’s more simple the way you break it down.
Love the Twister Edge 3WDs, fantastic skate..
It was a really nice explanation of how to stop using slide. Probably, the best one. Thanks guys.
Jay and Silent Bob... You are awesome guys!!!!
Have the same skate, twister edge 3wd...cool
That was awesome guys, great tips, cant wait for warmer weather to practice this.
Nice! Awesome tutorial as usual Danny!! Thanks a lot... 😎🤙🏽
He makes the parallel sliding seem so easy, hahahahahaha, I have been practicing for weeks and still couldn't find the right angle to do it without falling.
I think terrain plays a huge role in sliding
Great video , definitely helped 👍
Such a nice voice. You should create a channel where it's just you sitting in a nice chair in front of a cosy fire reading bedtime stories.
Great parallel slide explanation. Thanks for posting this. Powerslide came pretty easy to me. Parallel - another matter altogether! Just need to trust that outside edge of the inner skate and my ability to control it.

i never saw yet a better street skater then you Danny ..... pfff how you became so good skater ?
Thank you Daniel
Excellent tutorial, very curious how long it will take me to get right!
Can that be done on less smooth concrete or asphalt ? My skating course is not that smooth, that cement is wet sanded smooth
Awesome! that's what i was looking for ; )
Popopppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppp
Good tips! That vest has a wealth of pockets lol

very good Danny’s friend

Great Lesson(s)!
I like his Rick & Morty hat...!!!! Great explanation..
Awesome tutorial guys
What model of skate this guy (Danny) with 4 wheels? thx in adavance!
answer: RB Cruiser skate
Any suggestions for sliding with soft wheels? I favor 82A
Soft wheel would be more difficult to slide... as the grip is bigger... maybe go for 85A hardness...
It's like the skating God answered to my search for a perfect tutorial on paralol... Ahem parallel slides :D. Great teachings guys!
😆😆 hes so cool I love him
When you are doing power stop, does the hardness of the wheel matter? Currently I am using 85A with HiLo 80mm and 76mm hockey rollerblades.
Хороший урок от профессионалов. Понятно, даже без знания английского 👍👏🤘
Thank's Danny's....🇧🇷👏👏👏
nice bro thank you!!
Have you changed the bearings and Wiles on those black skates?
If yes, what did you changed them to?
Great tutorial fellas, thank! Will try this next time I'm at the cage.
What’s Mario’s skate set up???
Seriously tho

Hi everyone, which skate with which size of wheels does the second colleague (the one with the three wheels) ride?
He is using the Twister Edge 110 3WD, this is the actuell model www.rollerblade.com/products/twister-edge-110-3wd-2/?gp=15631&cp=15623
Great video, I like it 👍

Danny I would love to watch you make an extended skating flow vid like Bill Stoppard!
ive never learned this after 20 years of skating. I always used the T method. Going to practice the parallel slide tomorrow
You can do it!
Yo i need to start sliding this helps a bunch!!
The inside foot is the key. Bend it or no slide
Sir! is this the way to turn left n turn right?
you can do it on both side... turn to slide...
@@AuthenticRollerblade abig thanks
