I owe you a lot. I started taking my daughters to skate parks because I was tired of seeing them on iPads and phones every weekend. I never thought about skating myself, but it started to grow on me and became my weekly escape. Just watching them fall and get back up for hours on end without complaining, all while having fun, is an incredible activity beyond just the sport itself. I started watching your videos to see what aggressive skates I should buy for them, and you ended up motivating me to start skating myself. It's been a month now and I think my progress has been good. With the stress of the last few months, this activity has really helped me a lot. I'll visit your store at the first opportunity. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Funny thing to me is, while I never skated before, that many claim skating would be like ice-skating. But when I listen and watch your movements most the time it remembers me much more of typical movements used in skiing than of ice-skating.
I’ve been watching your videos from Colombia in South America, and practicing for a couple of weeks now. Great videos, man. Thank you. I’m 42 years old and I hadn’t skated since 25 years ago, but with your videos now I’m skating better than then 😂. I really appreciate that you tell about STOPPING techniques and BRAKING techniques (all videos I've seen do not talk about actually stopping, as in precision stopping). I can brake but I'm always anxious when I need to be precise about it, for instance when having to cross a road or something. Now I know what to practice :) Also, the name "peanut butter" made me laugh, gonna use it a lot!
After decades long distance skating only (marathons mainly), started inline skating too this year for manoeuvrability and because I struggle a bit with strong breaking. So a very welcome tutorial, thnxs Ivo!

I've been watching your videos for quite a while now, for the past year I've been practicing inline skating and all the different techniques and i getting better with each insight. That T brake to circle made me feel like a pro lol. Still far from it but having fun. Thanks for taking time to help me pick out some awesome skates when you were technically closed on King’s Day! I’ve learned so much from your videos. Thanks again 🔥🙌💕
A breakibg technique that I'm using a lot is doing a lot of short turn to slow down. It doesn't damage my wheels and it can be use to start a slide right after
That knee stop/mermaid reminded me of the Harley Davidson riders back in the day who were promoting that if you're going to inevitable crash, to purposely lay the bike down on its side and ride atop it so you don't get hurt.
Thanks man! One of the most usefull stop and breaking videos I found in youtube! Subtitles from 3:40 up to 5:30 and any other moment when you spreken Nederlands would be highly appreciated :)

Thank you for that video, that what I need right now. I’m pretty ok on rollerblades(learning one year maybe), I can ride trough the city whatever surface is, I can brake, but I can’t extreme stop yet
Loving this video! Skating on sidewalks around pedestrians and traffic you have to use different stopping techniques since all scenarios are different. I learned the PB stop from your other video and I apply it very often! Specially coming up to stop walk signs in order to press the button.👍
Awesome thanks! I've developed quite some control in terms of fine motorics (not sure if steenkolen-Engels 🤐), but my skating style rather evolved that way rather than during more dedicated training sessions. And even though I like to be as focused as possible (love that "flow" feeling!) I feel like I'm somewhat "stuck" now, with only more general things improving (speed / accuracy / fine muscle movements etc.).For example, I can do T-stops quite naturally and controlled, but apart from that only able to stop by making a small turn into a sort of powerstop-ish position. It works but this Frankenstop is very random and "evolved", so I think it couldn't harm learning some proper techniques (and getting more aware of wtf I'm actually doing during those manoeuvres). So that made me look for decent tutorials. The more the better because they all have their different approaches and nuances that might have that "click" with me in certain ways, or give me new insights that might me just the bit needed to push me over some hurdle. So thanks a lot! ❤ P.S. love the new wheels (and bearings) I recently bought at your shop, seems like they know how to handle some proper beatings ;)
This is gold. Absolutely brilliant content. Finally found my go-to channel 🔥 PS: Which skates are you using? They look so slim! (Own Rollerblade RB Pro X)
I almost gave up on this topic with just knowing how to T-stop - as a mere fitness skater who is scared of going backwards at higher speeds there really aren't too many "easy" options, and the soul slide always seems like it's unattainable for me. Maybe the plow and sitting prep mentioned here will finally help. I'll probably stick to my "just be slow within the city" mantra though.

And remember to always ADAPT YOUR SPEED ! This is a mistake that even experienced rider makes. When you approach an intersection/pedestrian crossing/etc when driving with your car, you slow down in case you have to break. Well skating is the same, even more so since breaking/stopping is not as trivial as just pushing a pedal. Always look at your environnement and adapt your speed accordingly. Too many rider just want to go full send all the time. Just because you can, does not mean you should :p . If you know you might have to stop, slow down and it will make stopping that much more easier and safer.
