    Thanks! 43 year old newbie here (started rolling 4 days ago). That upper body explanation was gold for me. I could turn but wasn't aware that it was due to an instinctual upper body twist. After seeing your video and becoming conscious of my upper body twist, I can now turn much sharper and I can also power stop at lower speeds, which I couldn't do before.

Its been 2 days since i started practicing after 20 years, and Im picking up fairly quickly i think thanks to videos like these, but I really struggle with stopping at the moment hehe. But we'll get there hopefully. Thanks!

    Great tutorial, Marcel! You have the best (ice/inline/hockey) skating tutorials! I've been skiing a lot for a decade now, and now started learning ice skating over the winter and it's awesome. Now with the summer season I also started inline skating, and turning I found to be essential and slightly different than on ice due to the friction. May I ask what brand of inline skates are use using in this video?

    • @MarcelsHockeySchool
      @MarcelsHockeySchool  Год назад +2

      Hi Balint, thanks a lot! Yes skiing will help you a lot with ice and inline skating, but like you said, turning is different and I find more difficult on inline skates.
      I am actually using my Bauer Hyperlite ice skates with and inline chassis put on them. I haven’t bought inline skates in about 20 years- I just always take a pair of my ice skates that I’m not using anymore and get wheels put on them!
