    Great lesson 😍😍😍 I need to learn a lot on my outside edges. I still don't turn correctly using my outside edge. I love skating and will practice all your drills. Hockey skate is the best skating technique for free inline skating on the streets and weekend bikeways. I love it because using hockey skating I can avoid colisions with other skaters , bikers, runners and so very easily . Thank you very much for the lessons. Please make more videos on how to hockey skate on inline skates.

    someone told me to get a hockey stick a while ago to help improve rollerblading. Is hockey a good way? I sometimes pretend to be holding a stick and it does help with getting you to move head , shoiulders, hips etc, only top half of body hunched ov er a bit

    • @MarcelsHockeySchool
      @MarcelsHockeySchool  4 месяца назад +1

      I don’t think you really need to have one, but it may help you feel like you have a bit more control, because you’ll have one more connection to the ground, and putting two hands on the stick helps “connect” your entire upper body. But it’s definitely not a must

    Great video. For the single leg inside to outside edge, I would suggest actually trying to keep your head level instead of popping up. Instead of pushing that momentum upwards, you can drive that momentum down into your wheels/blade to get a more powerful C-cut. Also, for a real challenge, try it from a stand still with no momentum going in :) This is an amazing drill that a figure skater taught me back in the day

    • @MarcelsHockeySchool
      @MarcelsHockeySchool  4 года назад +1

      James Yim Thanks! Ok that’s interesting for the one-legged C-Cuts; I will have to try that, because although I can do it much better on-ice than on rollerblades, it‘s definitely not one of my stronger drills. I can’t do the C-Cut from a dead start, but a friend of mine does it in the third variation of this video: ruclips.net/video/qsqCX-6lEuE/видео.html

      Also the upper body looks a little tight a good drill for that is standing feet together and twisting your upper body so you see to your right and left without moving your lower body (in skating stance of course)

    Are skating drills best taught in sets/reps or timed?

    • @MarcelsHockeySchool
      @MarcelsHockeySchool  3 месяца назад

      I honestly don’t really like either. I think doing enough reps until you see improvement is the best way to go,
      but I usually don’t aim for a specific amount of reps. This is obviously maybe not possible if you’re running a team practice with a time constraint, then I would maybe plan 10 minutes for a drill, but go longer if I’m not satisfied with how it’s going.

      @@MarcelsHockeySchool ok just asking because my son’s ice hockey stick is starting to get destroyed underneath. He loves street hockey and plays where ever he can find concrete (sometimes bad surfaces to skate on).
      His wraparound means I have to remove the tape as it won’t fit….which can get arduous when he does street hockey every day plus games/practice on ice.
      I should either get a dedicated street stick with a flex and curve blade…or watch his ice stick get destroyed.
      Are there wraparounds that fit on blades that already have been taped (heel to toe)?

    Hi Marcel, ich hätte mal eine Frage an dich. Ich bin noch nicht der beste Inliner/Schlittschuhfahrer und habe gemerkt, dass ich "richtungsmäßig" eine stärkere und eine schwächere Seite habe. Heißt ich tue mir irgendwie leichter linksherum zu fahren und zu übersetzen als rechtsherum. Gefühlt fehlt mir rechtsherum das Gleichgewicht oft und ich bin einfach unsicherer. Hast du Tipps wie man das vielleicht irgendwie trainieren kann da besser zu werden? Kann man vielleicht auch "Trockenübungen" ohne Skates machen um da besser zu werden? Würde mich über eine Antwort von dir als Profi freuen und vielen Dank nochmal für deinen tollen und hilfreichen Videos!

    • @MarcelsHockeySchool
      @MarcelsHockeySchool  3 года назад

      Hi, jeder hat eine gute und schlechte Seite- das ist völlig normal. Grundsätzlich kannst du eigentlich nur deine Schwache Seite mehr üben als der gute Seite. Das gleiche gilt für Off-Ice Training/Krafttraining. Immer einen Satz mehr machen mit der schlechter Seite.

      Haha I'm the other way around (just started playing goal last season after 30 years as a player). I find a lot of goalies make the transition quite smoothly. All the drills here should help you and work lots on your crossovers and tight turns as well because you don't really do a lot of those as a goalie. You should feel pretty mobile though on players' skates; they are easier to be agile in.
