This was all me back in the 90's. Man I miss rollerblading in NYC so much! Ever since I moved to Metuchen, New Jersey, I've only been back to NYC for Broadway plays or the one instance in 2015 when I visited my mom after her acd fusion surgery on her spine. But every time I go back, I miss the atmosphere so much, I end up staying the entire day to experience as much as possible. Live it up man! I hope you enjoy NYC as much as I did!

I've been to NYC once before, but just for a few days as a tourist. What's really fun is that a lifetime of seeing versions NYC in TV, movies, comic books, and video games has apparently given me at least some idea of certain landmarks. For example, I knew he was at least approaching the Hudson River Greenway (I didn't know what it was called before seeing this video) before we could actually see the water. Probably not impressive for most people, but I was pretty excited about it.
This was an absolute joy to watch. All I kept thinking about was his legs must be burning! You have alot of stamina for sure. Please stay safe out there.👍🏾💯
Bro, you are the 🐐. What you can do with skates especially in NYC manhattan traffic/pedestrians is absolutely crazy. Your sense of awareness is next level.

I was never anywhere close to this level of skill, but oh how this video makes me miss my days of rollerblading in NYC back in the 1990s. From the promenade below Riverside Park, to the dance oval in Central Park, to that long sloping run in Prospect Park; oh how I miss it. Still blade to this day, and still average one fall per year. I also attribute my cat-like reflexes and remarkable balance to my many years of rollerblading.
Hello, I'm Charles Nike Watching from Florida Jacksonville USA. I'm sorry if I may appear intrusive I just want to let you know I didn't know this kind of beauty 😍 still exist, What's your name and where are you watching from?
This is one of the more entertaining videos ive seen in a while. A good way to show the city. I had a pair of roller blades in the early 90’s, never got anywhere near that fast lol
As an old Paris skater, I'm terribly impressed: this is indeed way fast - faster than I'll ever go in such environment... Not just because he is more skilled than I am, but also because I like to keep my safety margins way wider, especially when half of the variables are not controlled by me. But maybe that's just me being old, with the benefit of past crashes !
From my pov I think these roads are great for skating. I love that they have one way roads over there, lots of lanes and cars all moving in same direction so he can freely cross. I also prefer skating on roads with a fair bit of traffic, don’t get me wrong I love going down empty roads but if I’m moving slower than cars behind me I just get on the pavement cuz I understand people have places to be and don’t want to be impeding on their time so for me the traffic here looks great. That being said I noticed some pretty tight lines in the video especially at high speed so what you said does kinda make sense. Always gotta be careful
I used to skate like this through Toronto 20yrs ago. It’s awesome to do, but I also had a break and didn’t go backwards and take quite so many risks. Enjoy it mate and I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you 🤞stay safe.
I think the important thing to note about this is how much it relies on the awareness of others, if you pay attention several people had to stop, or move to accommodate his movement, not everyone is gonna do this and some people will purposefully try to hurt you
I disagree completely. He clearly anticipates his own moves in order to avoid needing the attention of anyone else to see him. By the time he's in your orbit, he's just as fast out of your orbit and none of your concern. I can see startling a few people, but aren't New Yorkers supposed to be tough? But for the part he's moving too fast for anyone to really notice him until it's too late and he's already well past them and so "hurting him" isn't really an option.
@@marcuslinton310"Arent New Yorkers supposed to be tough?" Just like Texans all have guns with no fear to use them, right? Uvalde put a forever pin in that. I do agree with your overall sentiment for sure, though.
@@marcuslinton310 right… . It’s not a matter of if but a matter of when he’ll have taken one too many blindspots and rides over a pedestrian/ open door or any other obstacle that wasn’t aware of him. It would be very cool if you mapped your skate route sometime for those of us who aren't familiar with New York that way we could see everywhere you go.
Hey Ari- been watching your vids for some time now. They’ve inspired me to get back out there. Your skating style is dope and your footwork like butter.. appreciate you sharing your adventures. Weds night skate looks absolutely amazing! 🤙🏽✌🏽👊🏽
Looks like so much fun, I think that all Americans should rollerblade as a way of transport in the city. It would improve health, reduce pollution and improve happiness. Excellent skating mate
This is awesome! Takes me back to the days of riding a fixed gear back around Chicago with narrow bars so I could fit between tighter gaps in traffic. There’s nothing like the feeling of flowing through traffic and being totally keyed into what is going on all around you.
There are some things where you have to ask, "If everyone did this, would society still function?" This is absurdly dangerous and would have to be made explicitly illegal, if it isn't already, if it were to catch on.
@@thestutteringskaterI swear some people do that and other sadistic stuff on purpose, like fake turning as someone is about to pass, then lo and behold they continue going straight and never had to turn at all, surprise, surprise. But oh well, natural selection weeds out the inferior.. doing the rest a favor.

We've got Mad Rollers, Ghana skaters association and many others here and we recently did a campaign titled World on Wheels. It was all about skating and was fun. Would love to have you here and try new stuffs.
Your skating is amazing, your stuttering almost non-existent. Jeff Emig (retired Supercross Racer) had a rather noticeable stutter when he was a Racer, once he worked at becoming an Announcer for Supercross, I never heard it again. Anyhoo, I speed raced quads as a kid, and all your moves make so much sense and flow so nicely! Just sub-subscribed : >
Didn’t expect to watch the whole thing but I did! This is what I envisioned rollerblading to feel like as a kid😂 How fast would you say you were going on average?
I tried using skates slower than these when i was younger and dear God they are terrifying. He makes it look easy but slowing down and turning correctly is so difficult and if you fall down it's game over. When he says these are fast that's an understatement. What he's doing is incredible, I don't think I would be brave enough to wear those, especially not in a congested city
I don't think there is a leg day routine that can compare to just rollerblading through New York As a rollerblader but definitely not a professional I am extremely blown away by his talent, speed, menuvers and tricks he performed in this video alone
This looks so damn fun. Idk why or how rollerblading isnt as popular as it used to be. Seems like such a fast way to get around places. Makes me want to get into it and learn how to get dope at it forsure. Im probably gonna get a pair for me and my sons cuz ik they will definitely love to do it as well.
Your skating and your nerves are amazing. Thanks, but please stay safe! Nice to see the city from this perspective. I lived in Manhattan on and off ifrom the 60s to the 90s, then I would go back to see family a few times a year until about 10 years ago. The point is: I don't ever remember the streets that empty, except late at night. What happened? Is this still an after-effect of Covid?

Ever since I moved to Metuchen, New Jersey, I've only been back to NYC for Broadway plays or the one instance in 2015 when I visited my mom after her acd fusion surgery on her spine.
But every time I go back, I miss the atmosphere so much, I end up staying the entire day to experience as much as possible.
Live it up man! I hope you enjoy NYC as much as I did!
I'm astounded by your skill and control. I've never been interested in roller blading but your videos have me hooked
Thank you so much, i think it's time to pull the trigger on some skates ;)
You might be right! :) @@thestutteringskater
you give the ultimate jet set radio vibes around 6:58 and onwards. Exactly how I feel when I'm biking and start getting a bit bored.
Im surprised that cop at 4:45 didnt stop you for speeding or jaywalking at 100mph.. nah. Looks fun. Your skills shine through like you are literally just strolling through the city. Astonishing control. Awesome video and talent.
Yeah that place sucks lol
This was an absolute joy to watch. All I kept thinking about was his legs must be burning! You have alot of stamina for sure. Please stay safe out there.👍🏾💯
This is a man riding with the confidence of never suffering a back injury. You go sir 🫡
Bro, you are the 🐐. What you can do with skates especially in NYC manhattan traffic/pedestrians is absolutely crazy.
Your sense of awareness is next level.
Of all the you-tuber that skates, you have the coolest and best style of skating of them all!!!
Nicola Torrelli has a sick style that compares but probably not the velocity.
So fluent and smooth on your skates bro. Your footwork is beautiful. Makes me want to get back into it for sure.
This is insane and one of the craziest videos that I’ve seen on RUclips. The dude can skate like nobody’s business. Incredible skills! Dude, wear pads, you’re a rockstar and if anything it will influence others to do the same. This thing should be at 20 million at least! I’m sure it will go viral.
That was absolutely mental! I couldn’t take my eyes away for a second. It must be so exhilarating to do that.
The ability you have to adapt to all situations and environment is insane‼️
My heart races every time you weave in-out between cars / sidewalk. 😅
Your confidence on these is amazing. I havent been on skates since junior high school-1993
Hello, I'm Charles Nike Watching from Florida Jacksonville USA. I'm sorry if I may appear intrusive I just want to let you know I didn't know this kind of beauty 😍 still exist, What's your name and where are you watching from?
Those 360 cams continue to impress me. Oh ya and the skating is unbelievably good. Thanks for sharing.
Damn bro!!! Two things here.... 1 - you badass at skating.... 2 - This is life!!! get it bro!!!
This is one of the more entertaining videos ive seen in a while. A good way to show the city.
I had a pair of roller blades in the early 90’s, never got anywhere near that fast lol
I love this vlog style, it’s super inspiring! Labels in bruh that looks clean! Speed skating with you would be amazing
Haha thank you, hopefully more of this coming soon
As an old Paris skater, I'm terribly impressed: this is indeed way fast - faster than I'll ever go in such environment... Not just because he is more skilled than I am, but also because I like to keep my safety margins way wider, especially when half of the variables are not controlled by me. But maybe that's just me being old, with the benefit of past crashes !
Dude you drive so incredible, WOW! Best skater I´ve ever seen man! But it is soooooo dangerous in that citytraffic. Stay safe dude!
This is so exciting to watch! Amazing footage of the city, and the speed is exhilarating, can't wait to see more.
More coming soon!
This is a real life super power, hands down. I am amazed, inspired and surprised, no joke.
I used to skate like this through Toronto 20yrs ago. It’s awesome to do, but I also had a break and didn’t go backwards and take quite so many risks. Enjoy it mate and I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you 🤞stay safe.
Dude, thank you so much for your commitment to creating such great content. I look forward to every video.
He skates on too many blind spots. People can't be aware if they can't see him
@@kalfch1 Once again, he doesn't need anyone to "be aware" of him. He looks out for himself.
There is a reason cities don’t just have a paved surface and a free for anyone to go/ drive wherever they want. Guess which one.
Flow is on point this is the first time I’ve ever seen anything like it
You look like you know what you’re doing, stay safe bro keep cuttin it up !!
This man knows no fear and i love that
It would be very cool if you mapped your skate route sometime for those of us who aren't familiar with New York that way we could see everywhere you go.
Strava?
@@rollerbladingsydney had to look it up, yeah that would be cool
Yeah, i'll deff try to work on that. Editing is hard and I;m still learning how to do it. But I'll try to get it going
@@thestutteringskater that would be fabulous. Really appreciate your videos and sharing your life and enjoyment with us.
And a speedometer!
Hey Ari- been watching your vids for some time now. They’ve inspired me to get back out there. Your skating style is dope and your footwork like butter.. appreciate you sharing your adventures. Weds night skate looks absolutely amazing! 🤙🏽✌🏽👊🏽
I love hearing that! It's a blast, that's for sure
THIS!!! Thanks for the kind words, love the fixie riders
I used to roller skate literally everywhere ! by seeing this video so many good memories came to life ! tnx for that !!!
Same.
This is beautiful! Thank you for what you are doing for the sport.
There are some things where you have to ask, "If everyone did this, would society still function?" This is absurdly dangerous and would have to be made explicitly illegal, if it isn't already, if it were to catch on.
3:47 was sick. What kind of speeds are you hitting regularly?
Dude is unreal, literally got on skates for the first time in years and was blown away at the gap in skill level. Holy sh*t man 🤣
Hahaha yeah that van short stopped, so I had to readjust my shoulders to clear. All good fun
@@thestutteringskaterI swear some people do that and other sadistic stuff on purpose, like fake turning as someone is about to pass, then lo and behold they continue going straight and never had to turn at all, surprise, surprise. Look them in the face as you pass and they'll have a smile on their face like they accomplished something.
They definitely do. I ride motorcycles in the city (not NYC) and people always do things to mess with you, no matter how courteously you ride.
Sickkkkkkk. N scary af. God favors u because these damn drivers barely respect anything on 2 wheels. Also, it took me a while to realize how this was recorded. 😂
This is like watching a video game in real life. This is awesome
Dude, your choice of soundtrack and the beautiful scenary, the colors on your camera just pop, very very vibrant! Your video just appeared on my youtube feed and its one of the best videos i've seen. Freakin awesome!! You are a very skilled roller skater my friend. Keep up the great work and please be careful out there!
@Pizzatech4560 do you know the name of the song that starts at 1.46? 😅

Hey we need a stuttering skater Spotify playlist so we can listen to the same tunes that spur you on through the Manhattan streets!
I can feel my own ribcase almost hitting that white van and the ticking of the car mirrors against my sides. POV's are so like you are there vibe.
The footage is crazy compelling, and the skating is technical as frick. But if I saw you going between lanes while I was in it, I would be super pissed off. Be careful out there, my dude.
Thank you, yeah anyone who drives a car in NYC is gonna be bitter haha
just curious, why would you be super pissed off?
@@hugejackedman1951he puts people at risk by going between cars like that. Rollerbladers and cyclists are pretty much invisible in mirrors.
@@derek96720 a rollerblader is going to hurt someone in a car? how?
In a state of panic they might swerve to miss the skater and crash into something else or hit someone. It's not that far fetched, in a state of panic people do stupid stuff all the time. This skater is just begging to be a cripple or a vegetable. My mom's taken care of plenty of these morons in emergency rooms. But oh well, natural selection weeds out the inferior.. doing the rest a favor.
As an inline hockey player - you skate really well! They would close down 5th Ave and I would skate from HK to the BK bridge! Makes me want to put outdoor wheels on my skates!
dude that speed is insane!!!
You are a menace to people on the street of NYC.
I really love the way you skate, you're such an inspiration. Try touring the world with skates we'd love to see you in Ghana-Africa soon. We've got Mad Rollers, Ghana skaters association and many others here and we recently did a campaign titled World on Wheels. It was all about skating and was fun. Would love to have you here and try new stuffs.
Nobody else is gonna say it cause they’re enamored by the footwork, justifiably, but the music you selected is perfect for the video. 1:1 energy match
Your spidey senses are amazing! Stay safe out there and keep the uploads coming!!
floating through them streets
This looks incredibly fun.
Just sub-subscribed : >
honestly feel like you would be a really creative wizard skater and could even put a part out with some creativity.
This is so cool leaving everybody standing still .
Didn’t expect to watch the whole thing but I did! This is what I envisioned rollerblading to feel like as a kid😂
How fast would you say you were going on average?
Judging by how quickly he moves away from stationary objects, I'd say he's going 15-20ish on average and mid to high 20s at the fastest.
Can’t wait to see that opened door video!
I don't think there is a leg day routine that can compare to just rollerblading through New York
As a rollerblader but definitely not a professional I am extremely blown away by his talent, speed, menuvers and tricks he performed in this video alone
@PassportBachelor yeah I showed one of my friends who doesn't skate and she was so confused on how he was able to perform the stuff he did
@PassportBachelor I'm at least a 4 or 5 out of 10😅
Been playing ice hockey since high school. This dudes crossovers are beautiful!!!
I am not a pro skater I am a bike rider. But average mph looks like 25mph? I am intrigued. The finesse on the race wheels is really interesting.
agreed. Bicyclist myself, max speed w/o motor is 32 mph, cruising is 15-25 mph, that looks about right
This looks so damn fun. Idk why or how rollerblading isnt as popular as it used to be. Seems like such a fast way to get around places. Makes me want to get into it and learn how to get dope at it forsure. Im probably gonna get a pair for me and my sons cuz ik they will definitely love to do it as well.
No one wants to be a fruitbooter. Even roller hockey attracts all the squirrels.
@@_JamesBrownshowing your age with that term
Rollerblading was on track to pass skateboarding at one point. It was really popular for a while.
This is pure adrenal rush! Holy crap, you’re amazing
So sick man would be cool to have a speedometer on to see what speeds you’re catching up to!
The insta360 can do that.
Epic sick or just basic sick ?
@@plutoplatters a significant issuing of sick, almost Covid but way cooler.
Only reason I watched the whole video is because I wanted somebody to open there car door 😂😂😂
Brings back memories of blading through the streets of Tokyo traffic years ago with all my boys.
These make me sooo nervous!
You should add a speedometer somewhere on the screen 🎛️
Absolute BEASTY on skates...scooped up what ever he dropped like it was nothing..didn't miss a beat!! ❤
