    Best review to finally understand the different features of the FR line. Great explanation!! I just think you forgot to mention FR1 frame is not rockeable. Is it possible to change the frame to a rockeable one? Like FR2 , FR3 and FRX.

    • @Inmoveskates
      @Inmoveskates  Год назад +3

      Thank you! Yes, you can take off the frame and put from rockerable one from FR2/3/X or any else 165mm mount frame(not UFS).

  • @Xerasio

    Just ordered my first pair of skates after 10 years, thanks to your video! Very easy to understand and a lot of work taken off us, really enjoyed it.
    I went for the FR2 ones as i like to have the possibility to try out both, flat and rockered frame feels.
    If I'm confident on the 4x80 ones I'll get myself an 4x90 endless frame I guess, so I have better speed in general and actual fast liners if I run it 3x100, I'm fucking hyped to skate again!
    A question I still ask myself - is it smarter to swap out the wheels with cheap ones right from the start, as the first few pairs of wheels will suffer a lot of training lessons, especially breaking and wear off super fast anyway?

    Is it possible to rocker the FR1, if yes why would some one buy the endless frame?

    • @Inmoveskates
      @Inmoveskates  3 года назад

      You can rocker using different wheels(just buy 4 wheels in 80mm for example and 4 in 76mm) or if you change the frame. The standard frames on FR1 80, 84, 90, 310, 325 are Flat. Well, the Endless frames not cheap as it's half of the FR1 price, but you can have some additional fun if you will have a few length frames and will skate on both sometimes as it will be different feelings. The plus in Endless frame that you can choose 3 and 4 wheels options in 1 frame. The FR frames for example cheaper with the same quality(as a mass product), but you will need to choose 1 frame from many, while endless it's 2 in 1.
      So actually just to skate and learn you don't need extra frame as the standard one will work great. But after awhile you can try more frames, boots and etc.

      @@lonelyberg1808 Another update. I never quite got my single leg balance on the FRXs,as they were a bit too big for my feet. I literally had to wear an extra pair of thick socks just to fill the liner, and there was still too much space between the liner and shell. Plus being flat-footed with knock knees, I heavily pronated because I could never get the boot tight enough. This of course was making me unsure in my skating. Just bought the FR1 Deluxe Intuitions literally to the limit of my foot size (28cm, EU 42) and heat molded to fit perfectly. The ankle straps ratcheting really holds everything into place, so there's less movement in my ankles.

    • @Inmoveskates
      @Inmoveskates  3 года назад +1

      If we talk about FR FRX, FR2, FR3, FR1 then here is the info. I have 25.2CM and EU38 too small(for sure not my size), EU39 is good. The EU40 should be for 26CM and EU41 for 26.5CM. Maybe both sizes will fit as they are close. But usually, we recommend taking the smallest size possible for advanced skating and with a little space for recreational skating(for more comfort as in the freeride skates you will have great support anyway and the feet won't move inside). Plus if you have really wide feet you can also choose the bigger size. The size EU40 - it's one shell size. The size EU41-EU42 - it's the next shell size.

    Can the 4 wheels of FR 1 and FR1 be configurable to be rocker-able to enable user to adjust the height of the front and rear wheel, same as FRX model? Thanks

    • @Cla-ev1xp
      @Cla-ev1xp 6 месяцев назад

      Yes. FR 1 has the most upgraded features. Then 2, 3, then X being entry regarding price mostly. Rewatch the video and take notes on each model. The straps also make a difference in price, then the frame diff, the wheels and bearings only on the FR1 are different from the rest, along with slightly different footbed and insert. FR1 also has metal strap ratchet. Bearings are 9 instead of 7. Good luck finding your perfect pair.

    Just got my pair of FR2 Skates and probably the best purchase I’ve made. I’m an intermediate-advanced skater and this just shows that the more you pay, the better the quality. At first glance the FR2s seemed that they would not fit. Very hard shell, high ankle liner, tough laces. It seemed suspicious till I slipped them on, keep in my mind I have an EEE foot, which is wider than the widest foot width! I managed to skate 3 hours with some arch pain that increased greatly towards the end of course. That being said, from experience I am probably lacing up too tight, which is the reason why most wide footers get the arch pain. Anyways, that was my review for wide foot people because the skate is stated to be suited for wide feet. (Narrow foots can work with the skate too!
    The only thing I am a little shaky on is that the ankle strap is higher than most skates, and with that being said, powersliding will be a bit weird. I was hearing clicking sounds and couldn’t figure if it was the ankle strap coming loose or somehow tightening from pressure, but it probably came loose. This happened a few times and wasn’t too much to worry about as the skate was still strapped on well. So doing other awkward movements, perhaps mohawks or something else is a bit awkward.
    As an extra, this things destroy crappy terrain, shock absorption is pretty good and that probably comes from the wheels looking to be a good PU and 85A hardness.

    Hi, I'm cheering for this model, but I wanted to ask you? Can you put the velcro heel on the liner ??, this model inside the cuff has the coatings to protect the screws? so they don't damage the boot like the fr1? 3 could you buy the cuff buttons to make it eccentric like the fr1 ?? Thanks in advance

    • @Inmoveskates
      @Inmoveskates  3 года назад

      1. Velcro heels instead of 45-degree buckle? Yes, you can and it's 1 minute installation. 2. Not in all models you will have it, but in some you do. Need to check. Anyway, you can cut the tape and cover the screws inside your shell/cuff, so it won't damage the liner(usually needs 3 years of skating to damage, so it's a lot. But it depends as some skaters use old versions where it wasn't covered and everything is good). 3. You can, but you will need to buy the cuffs (around 20 USD pair) and "eccentric" (around 7 USD for 4 buttons). And it will work the same as on FR2 and FR1.

    I'm normally not the one to call sexism, but that preinstalled brake grinds my gears. I can deal with ugly purples and dingy white, but that's actually quite offensive. If I'm purchasing an urban skate, I'm gonna urban skate. Not fitness skate. I hate that I'm so competitive with stuff like this, I wish it didn't bother me but I'm just gonna give in and comment this even though IK I shouldn't.
    If there was even one women in the room when they made that decision, it would never have happened. What's funny is the fact that they have skates inspired/ developed by professional female slalom skaters. But I guess girls can't freestyle.

My mondo is 27.5 cm and I do skate with Seba high light in size 9 but I have to tighten everything down pretty tight were there is no more buckle latch left. I feel I could've went size 8.5 in the Seba's. For the FR3 could I go size 9 US? instead of the 10 US?
    Are the FR3 true to size?
    Thank you in advance
    Greg

    • @Inmoveskates
      @Inmoveskates  2 года назад

      Hello. High light - linerless model. Means size US9 in High light would be around 9.5 in FR3 as example(FR3 has thick liner, while High light has integrated one).
      So if the High light US9 a little small and you have 27.5 cm, then I would recommend to try US10 in FR3 model.
      The official FR size chart says the same 27.5cm = US10 in FRX/FR3/FR2/FR1

    I feel like women definitely won’t appreciate those “feminine” additions to the FRX 80 model... A bit presumptuous to add a heel break since we are after all, every bit as capable of learning to stop as any man would be. Also what is with that shiny snake skin pattern on the front strap?? very glad I went with the men’s version. Anyway awesome video, thanks a lot!

      The first try usually takes 15-20 minutes inside the skates and you already might feel that they break-in a little. Even without skating.

      The Freeride skates would be really good for the first skates as you will learn faster.
      Well, soft boots sometimes more attractive :)
      But you can check for different colors of Freeride skates. The FR FRX 80 it’s the most popular model and you will have all what’s needed to begin.

    • @Inmoveskates

      You can attach from any brand.
      But there are some limitations as UFS frames and Trinity frames by Powerslide.
      Actually you can attach UFS frames if you will create or buy additional plate as the UFS frames are flat, but it’s not the best thing to do.

But to have other feelings, to bring smth new in skating, people love to try smth else even if it's harder to use(need more experience) but can be faster(3*110 or 3*125mm wheels), 5 wheels instead of 4, lighter(carbon) and etc.

      Of course there are some pluses and not a big price difference. But if you would like to buy them for slalom, then FR2 might be a better option as you will have rockered/flat frame 2 in one.
      FR1 better in some parts.

    Hi! 20 years ago I was a very good skater. Ice, aggressive, street, I loved it. But that was then. So now I decided to grab a new pair and level up my cardio. Is the fr1 worth the extra money compared to the frx - which was my first choice, since I'm not rich unfortunately - considering I'll need to relearn almost everything, but in a few months time I'd like to bomb through the city like I just stole something 😅? Hope someone still reads this

    • @Inmoveskates
      @Inmoveskates  5 месяцев назад

      Hello. You can use FRX or FR1 for freeride city skating.
      In FRX compared to the FR1 there will be not enough heel support (due to strap instead of buckle - you can buy this as a part or just choose FR3) and there can be some issues with axles from time to time (stripped 1st and 4th axles if not carefully taken off).
      The frame is budget, so in theory for high jumps and too many skating days - best to take the frame that goes with FR2 and FR1. However, I haven't seen frame issues lately (there were up to 2018 from time to time as it's not an extruded frame in FRX).
      Wheels and bearings are okay, anyway, you will change them later once they are done (any wheels will be done after around 10-50 active skating sessions, it depends). Any bearings afraid of water+sand.
      The only thing that can be changed in FRX later is the mounting system. In FR1 it's the most advanced and strong, but this is needed only if high weight or/and really high jumps, so really extreme use (however, haven't seen that you can break the FRX mounting system anyway).
      Total - you will have a lot of small pluses with the advanced model, but with a budget one, you can do the same skating. :)

    Holy cow, I just skated in the FR1 310's for the first time today.... I didn't think I'd ever feel like this on skates. It's so buttery. Silky. I honestly just wanted to be outside all day. Thanks for the video and info it definitely influenced me to pull the trigger even with the price tag. I'm just a casual skater who had some K2's that I got for like $100. They were cool but TRIskates are a lot funner imo and FR you can just tell they are a cut above with everything. Appreciate vids like this for newbs like myself!

      @@Inmoveskates How hot are those FR1s running? I am in Central Europe, K2s and such soft boots are the majority of the market. I had the same K2s for over a decade and I feel I should get something less torn and smelly. Not sure though about the hard shell. I am too old for jumps but I like the idea of removable insole and liner plus a potential for upgrades or part replacements.

    • @Inmoveskates
      @Inmoveskates  3 года назад +1

      Some improvements. As far as I remember: I like the latest Liner as it has new more comfortable materials, so this would be the main. New frame design, new wheels(stronger hub), new heel buckles. The screws inside the shell are now protected (tapped) not to destroy a liner when it’s move. Maybe smth else in small details to make skates more durable.

    Hey! I know this is a rather old video but I’m looking to get back into skating and this video helped me a lot! A friend of mine had the frx and he loved them but we are both unsure of which to go for.
    Are the frames interchangeable? As in, if I have a frx could I put the fr2 frames in? And what are rock able frames?
    Thank you for even reading this haha
    We might end up going for the fr3

    • @Inmoveskates
      @Inmoveskates  2 года назад

      Hello! You can switch frames between frx, FR3, FR2, Fr1 and almost all of other FR skates models.
      The only frames you can’t put are UFS frames on a new UFR skates(almost none in stock however) and usually on aggressive skates. Plus some rare Trinity frames by powerslide.
      Rockable frame means you can use flat(all wheels touches the ground) and banana (1st and 4th wheels are 2mm up) setup.
      At least in this video we mean banana rockerable setup (usually for slalom, it helps to turn without speed).

    • @Inmoveskates
      @Inmoveskates  2 года назад

      In frx, FR3, FR2 models you can use flat and rockered setups in a few minutes with the special axles.
      However, if no slalom then most chances that you will use Flat only

    Why does FR not sell them on their website? Have to find a 3rd party reseller that jacks up the price.

    • @Inmoveskates
      @Inmoveskates  6 месяцев назад +1

      Depends where you located. There are some websites that FR Skates owns and have the same prices as all the rest sellers cause they tell what prices everyone should have.
      But in some countries they are more expensive due to customs (as far as I know in South America, Mexico and etc prices are higher, but it’s because of import taxes).
      In European Union and the USA prices are more or less the same everywhere(sometimes some shops can have discounts on old models or if they have too many in stock, but usually it’s not allowed on the latest models. But what is allowed is coupon codes. You can see that we have that coupon code for 10% off “frsk10” and it will be free shipping in the USA and minus special discount).
