Mike Hanlon does. His relationship with his father is one of the best aspects of the story. I was really disappointed that they decided to kill his dad off for the movie.

Except Mike! In the books his parents are alive and amazing, especially his dad who recognizes that SOMETHING is wrong with Derry beyond its residents just being racist assholes. Mr. Hanlon passes his observations onto Mike, which become so valuable when they’re all hunting It as adults.

Something that I'm kinda "impressed" about the IT (2017) movie is that, is was not afraid to break a certain taboo. It's kind of a rule, where you don't have child deaths in films, and even if there is one it's always handled either off screen, or extremely delicately. But in this movie we see a child's arm get bitten off, and said child is struggling to get away while bleeding out, and then eaten.
