@@yeoshenghong4802 iirc the Felon has an IRCM that burns the targeting system on missiles, anything too far is gonna be confused away and anything close is probably gonna be better using guns

Active, if you are close enough. And recall, the SU-57 isn't really all that stealthy compared to the F-35 or F-22 with a best case RCS of 0.1 m2 vs. 0.001 and 0.0001 m2, respectively, or 100 to 1000 times greater (translating roughly to 3-4 times the detection range).
The entire operational felon fleet vs 7 f-18s.

1 SU57M to original specification with full power engines and thrust vectoring.
So realistically 19 Airworthy SU57 airframes
Which can now all receive the SU57M modernisation.

If you can somehow get the F22s thrust vectoring to work, a great fight would be the f22 vs the su57

I'm definitely trying this in my DCS when I build my PC. Also the Su-57 engines has the same blue afterburners like the Tu-160. I forgot what it's called but it's some element that gives off the blue effect

Believe it's high sulfur content that gives it that distinct blue color

I've actually had the privilege of seeing the Felon fly at MAKS, it is a phenomenal machine! Extremely fast and rediculisously manouverable, I believe it's climb rate is 76,000ft pm!
Cap, have you,and the rest of the Grim Reapers, practiced using the modern fighters with WW2 fighter maneuvers? I really would recommend watching The History Channel's 'Dogfights' series on the subject, and the entire series, it's Good!

That would be a major commitment from Russia, since they only have 5 su57's
I think the thrust vectoring is kind of pointless now. Dogfights with guns simply don't happen anymore when you can shoot a missile from 50+ miles away before they even know you are there.

@@martinpalmer6203 Despite what you see on TV and in movies, aircraft never fly alone. There is inevitable going to be more friendly aircraft with more missiles. If missiles were so easily notched that all 6-12 of the ones you fire miss then they wouldn't be the primary air to air weapon across the world.

History says by far the majority of Air to Air victories have been *within visual range* thats not by accident but just a reflection of the reality of Air combat vs the movie fantasy missiles that never miss unless its the hero doing the dodging.

X-56 is my favourite mid-range. Winwing is my favourite high-end.

How about the SU57 and a Typhoon, ive tried fighting a Typhoon with the latest patched F16 and its a nightmare, the nose on the Typhoon comes around super quick and i dont think is even designed as a slow speed dogfighter. I do a huge amount of 1(me) vs 1(AI) in the F16 and very few airframes can give the F16 a tough time.

I've read that the blue AB is due to the high sulphur content in their fuel. Someone should check that though.

In the first fight 57's didn't appear to shoot when they had the opportunity. Or was I missing something?

@@grimreapers Later when they did shoot the shots were impossibly controlled. Seemingly single shots when as you know it requires a volley. They will get it ironed I suppose.
ive always wanted to give DCS a go but i want to fly C-130's and AC-130's go drop a moab on some terrorists or even fly a bomber
I'm thinking the best way to defeat a Felon or Raptor is to saturate the airspace they are in with all the missiles and cannon shells you have and hope you hit something.

Does anyone know if the small outboard weapons bays are real? Or if its just 4 missles in the 2 bays underneath ?
It’s real, and reserved for IR missiles. Some stealth fighters have dedicated IR missile bays with mechanisms to expose missiles into the airstream in order for the seeker to lock.
F-22 has a trapeze system.
J-20 has a trapdoor system.
Su-57 has the simplest one, a clamshell style cover.
The F-35 has no such systems and can only carry IR missiles externally on pylons.
