Great video. Don’t forget to let people know that they may need to reset the switch. Mine wasn’t automatically going back up and I had to research it to see if I got the wrong motor. All the way down and leave pushed a few seconds then all the way up and leave it pushed a few seconds.
Very nice video I have to go through the procedure and repair mine now that mine messed up the cable on the passenger front door snapped yesterday I had to put a 2x4 temporary to hold the glass up so compensation and rain wouldn't get in my truck until I had gotten the part in by UPS has not gotten here yet but as soon as it does I'm going to watch the video again and take the procedure to take the old one out like you showed me thank you for the video though this helps me a whole lot where I don't have to put my truck in the shop thank you
I would add a comment in the video about how the regulator attaches to the window. However great video and it helped me get my regulator installed and working just fine. Also a comment to show how to program the window to pull up and pull down.
Good video! Question for you, I have a 2010 F150 XLT cab & a half. Up north here my doors have rusted out. I can obtain XL doors without power windows. Can I replace the window guts from the old XLT doors into the XL doors? I need to know this before I go and buy the like new XL doors. Much appreciated. Thanks
Awesome Reference Video Bro, ( Especially for The Right Side ,Which is rarely ever covered in such task ) My right window on F150 decided to drop after automatic cables broke. All of which happened right after I completed a 20+ point tune up on my F150. Talk About seriously aggravating ending to a day spent pampering my money maker. However I decided to go ahead an redo my Power Towing Mirrors as well as one was taken out by boat being hauled by someone that had no business hauling such. Luckily I found a descent set for 160 brand new for the pair with all the bells & whistles. Threw in a pair of Kickers as well . What is that you used to hold the window up while setting up the track clips for window ? Other than having a helper , are wooden shims just as effective?
Thank you. Fyi.. the door handle pops out without having to remove cable. I just left mine hanging during the replacement. Didn't have fancy suction cup I used duct tape. (Requires a little clean up after)
My friends f150 driver side window just bought the farm. I was outting the window uo, but unlike other people who heard a pop i heard a horrible crunching noise, then the window slowly began to go downword. Im hoping this to is just the regulator.
When you say a few squirts of WD-40 on the channels every few months... do you have to pull the door panel off to do that or did you mean at the top? I just had my regulator replaced and the window grabs going down. Fine coming up. Thank you for the video BTW.
@@PowerUpAuto that did the trick. My passenger side was also acting up but lubrication did not help. I'm guessing that regulator is about to fail as well. What are the odds! Thanks again.
@@PowerUpAuto I did that but you also have to loosen the 10mm clamp bolts on the clips to get it free which is a pain if it's not in the full up position. Once I got that done it was good to go per your video aside from retightening clamps to glass before lowering. Thank you!
My passenger door got hit by a deer and I've got a new salvage door. My glass is tinted, the salvage is not, so I need to take the glass out of the salvage door to paint it. The glass is all the way up. How do I get the glass down to take it off the regulators with it not being connected to power on the truck? Is there a pin-out diagram I could use to hook a jump box up to the switch or motor to bring it down?
I have a jump box, and some small jumper leads, but when I unplug the motor, the are about 8 or so connectors. I don't know what to connect to to make it come down.
That’s funny because that’s exactly what happened with mine today, loud pop at a roll up and completely dropped. Ordering a regulator tomorrow, sounds like there’s a gear broken in it.
Same thing happened to mine this video saved me from having to buy a new motor , and only having to purchase the regulator , I had a problem with the two clamps grabbing the window and had to try again , im not a Mechanic what do ever , but this video helped me tremendously. Thank u The exact thing happened to my window and it was the regulator 100 percent
I replaced the regulator on drivers side front 2013 f150 and now the window goes up touches top and automatically goes back down. Or sometimes doesn't function at all. What is wrong
@@PowerUpAuto I tried this and it would only go up if I inch it little bit at a time. Then I tried holding it up for a few seconds which was difficult because it would automatically go back down, but then it would not go up or down. Finally managed to get back up. Now afraid to attempt again. Few days of bad weather coming. Up is better than down
If anybody cares Don't know about the auto parts store but the one i got from orielys didn't work Got the Ford one yes more money but we'll worth it . The Auto button didn't work going up . Called Ford Roll window all the way up ,hold it for 5 seconds Roll the window down, hold it down for 5 seconds works like a charm ! Sometimes electronics are better off Factor .
If it was a broken power wire you would not hear anything when pressing the button. If its the regulator you will hear a crunching grinding sound. Also the 2004-2008 have been most of the wiring problems. Have not seen a wire problem on the later models.

Absolutely correct.
Thank you so much for making this video. Allowed me to have the confidence to do it myself and save a bunch of money.

The short answer is no. Rewiring everything would be beyond even my experience. Sorry

Any videos on replacing the window on same door ?
same process. Just remove the glass and reinstall
Excellent video. Would it be the same process for a 2009 on the driver side.
It should

correct, window motor/regulator assembly

Thank you so much!
How do you put the glass in
How do you get the glass in a position to remove it from the regulator clips?
If you have a problem raising the glass you can cut the metal cable that goes to the regulator and you should be able to easily push the glass up.
@@PowerUpAuto I did that but you also have to loosen the 10mm clamp bolts on the clips to get it free which is a pain if it's not in the full up position. Once I got that done it was good to go per your video aside from retightening clamps to glass before lowering. Thank you!
How tight do I tighten the bolts for the clamps on the glasss ?
10mm bolt but you can also use a torx 30
How did you get the plastic lining to stick mine wont
Gorilla or Duck tape would work
RTV sealant can handle that usually.

Thats what I would do. Apply current directly to the window motor from a battery.

Try resetting the auto. Hold the button down for 6 seconds after the glass is all the way down. Might solve the problem

@@charliemetro74 Original Ford Part or aftermarket part?
@@PowerUpAuto I believe it was aftermarket, someone else picked it up for me. I believe he said Autozone. Claims he has done several others

So it has nothing to do with fuses? So i guess whats why my passenger side window is not going up and down?
im way way way up north in a rez is there away i can just lift the window without a regulator ?
correct

No problem

Always check the wires in the door harness , the window wire breaks there , cheap Ford crap
