Being a kayak fly fisher, I totally agree that being so high up on the casting platform is a huge disadvantage fishing tight to the overhanging tree limbs in that canal. Fun to see you guys giving it your best and seeing such huge snook! Thanks for sharing.
You need a shorter fly rod, floating line with a shorter head, shorter front taper, and shorter leader for "bushwhacking." Quarter above the boat and cast to the shoreline to cut them off. When there are this many fish, just keep the fly above the boat and strip smoothly and slowly.
We were definitely not prepared for this situation. Originally intended to fish the flats, but the wind and storms had other plans, so we had to seek shelter and stumbled upon all these snook. I normally fish a shorter rod regularly for most of my fishing in canals.
This ramp is literally 5 minutes from my house. I wish they would dredge the channel some. Only ramp is to go to either Fort Pierce or Barber Bridge Riverside Park. I work at Vero Tackle and Watersports in Vero Beach. Stop by sometime !
Is that blue fly rod a rainshadow? Noticed the grips but couldnt get a clear shot of the label... rainshadow makes the best rods in the world. If thats not an RS I would reccommend looking into them.
🌴 😆 two lines stuck in the mangroves hey ya got another rod 🤣 I gotta ask were ya using that blue fly that you just did the vid on ? , I tried today to find materials to tie that fly , I bought premium light blue craft hair , and a light blue brush but I has flash mixed in it 🫤 did you ever get the registration done on the John boat ? 🤔
I saw you cruising through the city this day. I was wondering where you were fishing. I've been to that spot many times. Those Snook are full from eating live bait that gets flushed out of the canals. I've never had any luck on fly. Throw them a large mullet and it's game on. But, we know that's no fun. I gave up on those fish years ago cause they are so frustrating.
Middle of the day like that the snook are mainly only hitting in the shade under the mangroves and ur not gonna be able to cast in the strike zone with a fly rod n reel. Bet if u skip a weightless nlbn lil mullet on a spinning setup u can get that bait where this fish want to eat Plus it would be Texas rigged on a wide gap hook so it wouldn’t get stuck in the trees as much
Totally agree. Fly casting from on the skiff, which is above the overhanging trees in height, made it extra tough. We did have a couple shots at fish in the open water, but they weren’t having it either.
Don't like the idea of not having option to opt out data share and no way to lock in xmas savings if wanting to pay with check. Upon its authenticity, send the order. That would be awesome. I'm ol school. Large order bro, don't have anyway else to reach out without going through that site. Great vid too!
The best part is that one smaller snook was actually caught, and the cameras weren't recording. That's why you hear him say "bigger than the one I caught" or something along those lines.
haha i have no idea. He really stinks the place up. I told him next time he visits, we will definitely get on them. I can't allow it to continue. not on my watch. haha
47☑ 5 more to reach the 🏁
Now this is an epic collab! 🙌🏼

Mr. Snook is on the way bro! This is awesome!
You already know!
i went wading there the other day and caught 2 nice reds on NLBN grew up fishing the flats there :)!
Sweet. I used to catch a bunch of reds right there when it used to be full of lush grass. Nice to hear they’re showing up again.
What county
Another great video bro! So close to your goal!
gracias
First fishing video where I didn’t see a fish caught lol, but I’m not complaining, that’s part of the game
Them fish caught me. 😂
If you don’t mind sharing… what launch is that?
Shared a little too much already
"The shiny patch..." Hahahaha
When staring a 40+ the words are hard to find. Hahaha
Not the ole end of Oslo boat ramp 💪
Hello Snook, Thank for it video i love it ♥ !!!
Sometimes I find they will only eat an Everglades special. This clear water time of the year is rough p. Great video.
I might have to give that a try.

The cut
haha shhhhh it's top secret.
Is that blue fly rod a rainshadow? Noticed the grips but couldnt get a clear shot of the label... rainshadow makes the best rods in the world. If thats not an RS I would reccommend looking into them.
Haha yes it is. I been fishing rainshadow blanks since 2016

Great content even without hooking up. Fly is like that
Appreciate that
Big ole snook. How’d that Sabine pole?
It poled well considering we were poling in like 8’ of water that had a strong current. 😂
A Chug Bug or a Zara Spook would have got you a hook up in that situation, its USUALLY the snook you don't see that will slam you.
Another great video, i can relate. Keep up the good work
Appreciate it!
All I could think was…give that man a spinning rod and let him skip under those mangroves lol. Great video!
I'm ready when you are. 👀
Good job brother
Nice a fishing,,👍
Thanks 👍
are you in vero beach fl ? very good video keep up the good work
what boat launch is this brotha? looks great for paddle boarding adventures (unless you seen a bunch of big ass crocs)
Oslo boat ramp in Vero Beach, Florida. No Crocs. 👍

haha yeah I seen kids pull up on a golf cart with live mullet a few times.
The most frustrating decade of my life was possibly figuring out those snook 😅
hahaha, so you're saying you have figured them out? Time for another day on the water!

It’s tough to fly fish in such closed quarters. Spinning reel with Topwater would’ve been way more productive. I think good video though.

Soooo many good snook!!! Just wanted one to eat 😢
haha tell me about it! Next time, we will get them.

Shoot me an email. We can discuss.

Jon boats have a hard time in that spot! Best when it's high tide. I could show you around there bro LOL live 32 years of my life there
I needa know how to get them mondo snook to eat a fly. 😂
@@Eric.Estrada you got a good eye for them. At least you can go down to the end of the road and eat a Publix sub after that kind of a day! LOL
These 2 need to give up fly fishing 😂
Spoiler, no fish caught. Your welcome.
Why does Pete have such bad luck in Florida!!???
haha i have no idea. He really stinks the place up. I told him next time he visits, we will definitely get on them. I can't allow it to continue. not on my watch. haha
