I love the fly fishing stuff. I fly fish a lot of the same areas you do only from a hobie kayak. I like that you showed how it can be sometimes while fly fishing. When you tie your own flies and put in the time the reward seems so much better than it does with a spinning rod. Just picked up a new toy myself gonna be trying around that same area this weekend. Hardy Zane Carbon 8wt and a Hardy Marksman Z 8wt rod. It ridiculous how accurate and smooth it is. Good luck tight lines and please keep the content coming, from Cape Coral Florida

@@christian_masterson nah wasn't me this time. I haven't been down there in a couple weeks. Been launching at Ding darling off sanibel. A bunch of snook and reds, and got a bunch of nice trout and jacks on a gurgler I tied. Snook and reds came on shrimp and bait fish patterns. Some areas on the back side of sanibel that has some flats and when the tied gets right you and cruise the edge and sight cast reds and snook. Makes for a great day.

Decent weight in the rear and light in the body so I get the lean back pop when I strip .
Good luck and keep the videos coming

I like to throw a baitfish pattern this time of year until the water really cools down. Especially in that location. Green back white body. Should do you well. Just my opinion. Good stuff keep it up.

Consider moving the fly with the rod tip rather than striping. It is like walking the dog. Rod snap, strip, rod snap, strip. The rod will move the fly in a more natural panic mode. Best to you. Great videos!

Hey Christian, maybe a baitfish pattern with a lot of flash in a threadfin or Pilchard pattern , check out ,head first fishing he had a friend of mine ties up a fly called the “ thunder struck minnow “ by Cliff Nigh , it’s great on poons and snook ,

If the fish were there and following quite a bit, it was likely either bad time of the day with tide or it was the fly. Tarpon, snook, and reds all have different feeding patterns. For instance I find tarpon not very aggressive with smaller shrimp patterns and just follow, but baitfish patterns or toads they will attack.
