James really look into the minoxidil and finasteride! I have been using them for the last 4 years, completely stopped my hair loss. Yes, I’m still taking it today (26 years old). I wouldn’t procrastinate on it, I do believe my hair is looking better than ever right now. I use the minoxidil only once a night, crown and hairline, and 1 mg of finasteride a day.
Dan, I'm a female and I love watching your videos. You are not only educating your clients, you are educating the viewers. My vote is for you to continue the "Talking Hair Loss" series. You obviously have clients out there who benefit from it. Keep up the good work!!

Personally, I love your channel in general and like this series, professionally. I am a psychologist who has been able to follow clients from HS to young adult years because of telehealth (one of the few upsides from the pandemic). For young men (20s-30s), hair loss and thinning is mostly unexpected and truly does take a hit for their confidence. It's great to see your end results after a consult, sharp cut/style and recommendations for what next. Minoxidil is excellent and I think many men have Qs for finasteride re. side effects. You are an excellent sylist/barber and also are excellent talking with your clients about the psychology of hair loss. Much appreciation!
Definitely do the second series, if anything people with thinning hair like us needs more references. I also love to listen the technicality of your cuts, helps me to understand more about our thinning hair.
Agree with Dan. If he hopped on Finasteride and used Minoxidil daily, he'd deffo be able to regrow a significant amount of hair - give it a year or consistent use and it would transform his hair. (Saying this as somebody who has been on Fin for 6 years and also using minoxidil daily for the last 2, it really does work, but it requires *consistency*)
@@Farmerjo007 Still works for me personally. I have managed to retain my existing hair and have stabalised my hairloss for past few years. I obviously can't speak what will happen in the future, but there are people who've been taking Fin for 20+ years and still have a full head of hair, but ofc its different for everyone. I also only take half a Fin pill every 2-3 days, so I'm not using it everyday, and for now its working.
@@uaddaffac2148 Currently, I have no side effects from Fin. However, there have been times where I have suffered from low labido, depression, anxiety etc, however, I do not think these were *caused* by Finasteride. I already had these symptons pre FInasteride and I think it just made the side effects worse, but did not specifically cause them. I'm 6 years on Finasteride and currently do not have any side effects anymore - I think the side effects were more due to how poor my diet was and other life decisions etc. Now I've fixed my diet, and the other issues in my life and I do not have depression, anxiety or low labido, if anything right now my labido is the highest its ever been after 6 years of being on Fin. But again, this is different for everybody. But I would suggest hopping on Fin and giving it a go, start small and only take a Fin pill every few days and then slowly build up to once per day. Then after a year or two, you can then start to go back to only taking a pill every 2-3 days. Thats what worked for me.
I loved these transformations. This last one, well actually all of them, was brilliant! I’m amazed how thick his hair looked in the front! Dan is truly an artist. I think another hair loss series would be great. One thing I love about this channel is that most of the clients that Dan doesn't only feature models that have incredible hair. Most have average hair but dan works his magic on them. It's very relatable because in the barbershop most clients do have model like hair

I think a series on applying different styling products for different hair types would be beneficial. Blowdrying techniques, brushes, and whatever else you can think of.
This is a great service for men suffering with hair loss. It can take a toll on your self image. I was one of those men until I found a way to restore and reverse my severe hair loss using simple foods and tools. Now I help men get their high school hair line back on my channel naturally no matter the scale of loss.

The series was so good to watch and although i myself am not experiencing hair loss quite as rough as some of the brave guys been on the channel i do feel alot more confident on what to ask for when i do need help in that area.

He is a diffuse thinner, he really should get on finasteride 1mg a day (for as long as he wants to keep his hair). Finasteride with the hair loss that he is suffering with, can regrow probably a lot of it back. I don't think he even needs to get on minoxidil.
0.5mg Finasteride per day should easily do it for him. There is lots of research that there isnt a big difference in DHT supression between 1-0.5mg. And people are less likely to experience any side effects from a lower dosage.
@@Steffen4794 No finasteride and dutasteride has been shown to give little to amazing amount of regrowth, not just stopping the hair loss progression. He is in the perfect stage of hair loss plus type, when you look at the literature to have amazing regrowth results with just finasteride.
@@Steffen4794 obviously if the hair follicle is 'lost' it doesn't magically create it out of thin air but the idea is pretty simple. DHT causes hair miniaturization which is a process that plays out for many many years over multiple hair life cycles causes each new cycle to be shorter hence thinner hairs. finasteride inhibits a certain amount of DHT hence the hair miniaturization process lessens to a great degree and thus hairs may start to grow longer and thicker in the next hair cycles.
Yeah, please do another series about thinning hair... Yes, the different hair styles are class... But it's the process and the knowledge that you share with us...

This series was my favorite by far. And hair loss is so common that you could keep doing the series forever.

One thing i think we’ve learnt in this series, if your thinning don’t have your hair longer. Looks much healthier and thicker when you keep it shorter

he doesn't even need that high of a dosage most likely. 3mg per week might even do the trick.
there is now regrowth of lost or dying follicles, it's just strengthen the existing ones that already weaken at this point

Great cut, great customer...and I would love to see another series...and maybe you can do a follow-up with the customers who came on and tried a treatment plan...one or two years later.

This series is great and I think you should do a season 2. Not very many barbers are doing challenging videos like this. I do feel like this is the nitty gritty part of the job that not many show, so thank you for sharing your talents!

I love the cut on James. It lioks so natural and healthy. Yes I would like to see a 2nd series like this. Dan you are a natural teacher and very interesting to watch your consultations as well as the skill in designing and cutting hair styles that aren't just stylish, but that suit face shapes and hair textures.
