Three months after Henry and Sam's deaths, Joel and Ellie reach a small, thriving community in Jackson, Wyoming, where Joel is reunited with Tommy, whose wife Maria is pregnant. Ellie learns about Sarah's fate from Maria. Joel confides in Tommy about Ellie's immunity and his own declining mental state. Joel asks Tommy to take Ellie to the Fireflies, as he is afraid he cannot keep her safe. Ellie overhears them and confronts Joel, who insists they will part ways. In the morning, Joel changes his mind after remembering his daughter, and the two of them travel to Colorado on horseback. They find the Fireflies have vacated their base, possibly relocating to a hospital in Utah. Joel and Ellie attempt to escape a group of raiders. When one of them attacks Joel, Joel kills him but is stabbed during the struggle. Joel and Ellie escape the others, but Joel soon collapses and falls off their horse, leaving Ellie unsure how to proceed.

In the beginning, Tommy was the fuck up, and Joel was the caregiver, provider, and protector. Suddenly, Tommy's life is on track, and Joel's is a mess. His identity is challenged while at the same time he is faced with the fact that his brother found heaven, but Joel was "the wrong kind of people" so he wasn't allowed in (and his brother agreed by his actions, regardless of what he says). Then he is becoming attached to Ellie, and he is having more panic attacks in fear of losing her, as well as him having to come to terms with his need for assistance as his body fails (again his identity of caregiver, provider, and protector is challenged when Ellie helps him, etc). It's too much, and he breaks down. The panic attacks make sense and are a wonderful addition.

Another sensational episode. Pedro Pascal's acting in this episode evoked a wide range of emotions.
It was great to see Joel's vulnerability on display. This episode was exceptionally well-written. His trauma and his fear of failing Ellie leading to him pleading with Tommy to take her off his hands was so incredibly heartwrenching to see. Pedro absolutely nailed that scene.
Both Pedro and Bella acted their socks off, the emotion displayed on screen felt incredibly authentic. Gabriel Luna was so incredible as Tommy as well

Hey Deasha, I found your channel a few hours ago, just searching for reactors to this series and have been binging your TLOU reactions, and I just wanted to say I'm so impressed. Not only do you give some of the best reactions and commentary, but the editing of your videos are some of the best I've seen from a reactor channel. I like how you add some funny edits now and then to certain scenes. Like at the end of last episode, putting in the GOT scene of the kid jumping off the building. I've only watched these TLOU reactions but I can already tell you're gonna be one of my favorite reaction channels. A well deserved sub, and happy belated birthday!
So much for an episode that won’t make you cry… that damn bedroom argument made me cry both in the game and the show.
