Great video! like uncommonly good! Gave spec'd ft-lbs torque on bolts, clear on the right way to do things and why to do them that way (which all just made me realize what a amatuer hack I am). Spot on camera work and edits. One of the best automotive tutorials I have seen. Kudos and much thanks!
Great video. I appreciate the details in getting the job done right. If you could please do a video on rear brakes for a 2009 Lexus GS 350, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks for sharing the real way to do mechanic work.
No description of loosening the parking brake to get the rotor off. Your access hole was also misaligned with the adjusting mechanism when you put the rotor back on.
Why did you loosen the bleeder valve you can just take the reservoir cap off I've done it like that for over 25 years and never had a problem also you need to tell people to let the emergency brake down or they're going to have a hard time pulling the rotor off you also need to show people how to adjust the emergency brakes when you're done so that they don't ruin the emergency brake pads and they still have an emergency brake
From about 10:13 to 11:16 you snapped on the rattle clip so fast then you didnt hold it to show a view of it from different angles so you could see how its should look. At 11:13 the angle you showed, you could see only one of the rattle clips making me have to rewind it over and over! Other than that and you saying how easy it was so many times this couldve been an almost perfect video.
Interesting contrast. Before watching this video, I watched a guy replace rear pads on a 2016 Lexus RX350. It has Electronic rear parking brakes. The SUV was on a floor-mounted lift with the two pillars adjacent to the front doors. I could not understand 1/2 of what he said as it sounded like mumbling self-talk. When he opened the driver's door, it banged into the metal lift pillar. hmm... methinks.... After retracting the E-brake caliper motor & removing the caliper , he proceeded to replace the pads without removing the bracket. Zero cleaning, zero wire brushing or Brake Kleen.. Did not bother to change out the 'tin' parts. Did not clean or lube the pad slider bolts or inspect the rubber seals. I'm thinking-should I subscribe to this Bozo? This woman is a pro-the kind of mechanic you want and need when it comes to brakes or anything else maintenance wise. Consider me subscribed~😊😊
