Everything was going horribly and the whole world was collapsing so I built a time machine with @Shadow Plays so that we can go back in time and stop the war from happening. You guys should have 3-D printed some sort of bracket that holds the switch in that also allows it to be charged
I though the switch was going to have some hole for it to be connected to the same screen as the ps5 somehow so you could go from ps5 to switch easily and have the screen right there. What use would this have? Almost none lol, it's literally just overcomplicating a non issue but I thought that's where they were going

In testing it was found that clip on rear "cooling" fan actually makes the PS5 run 10 degrees hotter than without it attached. It's also blowing air the wrong direction.

it wouldn't matter even if the fans was blowing the correct way, they're far too small to generate enough airflow to help the stock fan and would impede airflow and make the system run hotter, (even if the fans was capable of producing enough airflow) accelerating the exhaust makes things worse as it messes up the internal airflow and can cause the internal airflow to bypass the heatsink. these things never worked, they've always made the systems they're connected to run hotter. this is going back as far as the PS2 era.

I love how sony and microsoft literally have hundreds of the best engineers and experts to design a optimized cooling system, only that after release some shady wish companies be like: hey this console definetly needs some big ass plastic shit that blows more air in your console.
While I definitely get the point you are making and agree with it, I always hate how people bring up the engineers.
Yes they are very smart people, and probably made a design that works very well. But you also have to understand that the following few things can and do happen:
1. Engineers have to make compromises in their designs to meet the budget. Sometimes a design is not as efficient as it could be with a little DIY because of cost reasons.
2. Maybe there's just something that they didn't think about. It happens to even the brightest minds. Some sort of oversight that leads to a less efficient machine. This happens pretty frequently in cars and other tech, a good example being the 2020 supra with fake vents, vents that when made functional by DIY mods have been shown to improve handling and reduce internal temps.

@@pauldavis1583 For sure!! The only thing close to a mod I've done for the ps5 wasn't even an actual mod LMAO. I literally just cut a hole in the back of my entertainment center and put some noctua fans in the hole powered by a USB in the back of the ps5.
Only cause the ps5 is Massive and pretty much took up the entiret rack and I was worried about it overheating

never found a use for them with consoles but my 4200rmp vacuum cooling pad for my laptop drops my temps by about 10/15

I actually thought they would fit a switch dock in the side of the ps5 and wire it up to output to a TV, then widening the Blu Ray Slot to slide it in. But what they did seems more like what I should have expected.
