​​​@@gamerznation3750 It is all about preference. Some people soak the seeds overnight to help speed up the germination process.
But you can also plant the seeds in the soil to get them to germinate, too Just, as long as soil is moist (not wet) and in a warm environment.

Presoaking was a great tip! They developed a water bubble around that I'm sure helped with germination 👍

I think it'll grow fine on its own lol it's basically a weed. I've seen them growing in-between patio tiles naturally because I have a flowering plant that spread it's seeds across the backyard. Just plant it in some decent soil that's a little moist 1/8 in and in a few days it'll grow. No need for all of this.

So I did none of this at all, literally chucked every basil seed I had into the pot, figured some would have to grow. It did, nearly all of them lol, I’ve since reduced it to two basil plants and they’re my pride.

I've grown a basil plant this winter and basically drowned it every time it needed to be watered (once the soil got dry on top/ every few days. I live in a warm place though). Might depend on the container you used being too big or small

sorry i’m leaving a whole ass paragraph. but try a growing lamp. you can get a cheap one online, makes it easier to grow indoors & you don’t have to worry so much about the heat causing mold. also fresh clean soil, purchased or you can use old soil if you want. baking it helps sanitize it, or just placing it on a layed out tarp in hot sun for a day works too. i used growing lights w the method of soaking and using a bag of seed starting mix purchased new, and then turning on growth lights for 6-8 hours a day. mine started to sprout in 2 days. and only spray water when the soil it totally dry. most of these tips can be applied to every seed you start
