    Fish finder, fish finder, fish finder. There is always way too much emphasis on this part of the product. It would have been better to highlight the overall features updated and then break down into each topic / update. Too often I feel like you folks feel all your customers care about is the sonar/fishplotters. There was at least 5/10 mins before we got to the more important updates.

      Thanks for the response. Sorry to have a slight whinge, but there is so much raymarine have to offer, I do find the focus on fish finder over done sometimes. Question? Would it be useful to go through how to use the i70’s fully, to get the best from them. There is no actual guide on the website.

    Question:
    1) Is there a way to turn off command confirmations?
    When setting and changing in autopilot mode, the system asks the user to reconfirm - sometimes twice! So you make a request… the system say “are you sure?”… and you scramble to say yes, under way in a sailboat with the wheel turning back-and-forth under great force, trying to break your hand off while you’re working on the MFD through the spokes… and you say yes; and it asks AGAIN, “are you really sure”. Repeat panicked cycle as you are trying to avoid a collision and fracture at the same time.

    • @RaymarineInc
      @RaymarineInc  8 месяцев назад

      It sounds like you are referring to the command confirmations for an autopilot that is navigating via GPS waypoint or route navigation. When the autopilot arrives at a waypoint it will alarm to announce its arrival, it will signal the direction it intends to next turn the boat (port or starboard) and it awaits your confirmation that it is clear to turn. When you acknowledge it, the pilot will execute the turn to the next waypoint. If you are getting multiple confirmations in rapid succession, I suspect that you have several waypoints that are plotted close to each other. They are close enough that the arrival alarm radius overlaps several waypoints at the same time so the system is cycling from one to the next to the next until it finally settles on a waypoint in the sequence that is outside of the radius of the arrival alarm. Check your waypoints to see if they are very close together, and consider either moving them farther apart or decreasing the waypoint arrival alarm radius.
      We recently released a new feature that allows the autopilot to automatically turn from waypoint to waypoint without the need for a manual confirmation. To do this you do need to be running the latest version of our Lighthouse 4 software on your Axiom screen, and you need to have a Raymarine Evolution-series autopilot that is also updated to its latest software version. Automatic turning was released as part of LightHouse 4.4, and the necessary autopilot updates are bundled with it. There is an article about it here:
      www.raymarine.com/en-us/learning/online-guides/automatic-turning-for-route-navigation
      There is one big hitch though. Automatic Turning currently is only available when the autopilot is configured with a powerboat steering profile. It is not currently available when a Sailing boat profile is running. This is done to prevent accidentally gybing the boat.

    This software is so buggy! It crashed several times or it's just restarting during navigation. Often it freezes when navigating through the menus. Sometimes some menus are not clickable anymore and the only possibility is to restart the device by switching off the power. Still waiting for an update that fixes the most worst bugs. Better stay with version 3 until there is an update.

    Jim, I've installed the Raynet HS, SeaTalk NG, the Axiom Pro 9, Axiom +9 and they all worked fine. BUT how do I set the correct date for the system ? (Yes, this is kind of embarrassing question.) Setting time is straight forward but date still at 2003 !!!

    • @RaymarineInc
      @RaymarineInc  Год назад

      Hello Nat. The date and time is set automatically by the GPS receiver. Its very strange that you are seeing a date of 2003. Do make sure your system actually has a position fix. There is 1 more setting you do need to do to get the clock time to line up. The GPS system reports the time in Universal Coordinated Time (UTC.) You do need to tell Axiom what time zone you are located in. On its homescreen touch the clock on the top right, and in the popup menu is an option to set a time offset from UTC. For example, here in the US Eastern time zone we are currently at -4 (due to daylight savings time.) Add the appropriate offset to bring your clock into alignment with your time zone. You do need to do this in order to have accurate times reported for tidal height, current, and ETAs at waypoints.

      @RaymarineInc  2 года назад

      Hello Jason. Would you have any photos or video of what your screen is doing? That would be helpful to diagnosing the problem. Drop-outs in bottom tracking can be caused by bubbles or cavitation getting under the transducer, a thermocline or other underwater interference, or the bottom just getting too deep for the particular sonar channel selected. Please open a ticket over at raymarine.custhelp.com with as much detail as you can provide about your system, transducer, and the conditions you were experiencing.

    Hi, How do i set fuel tank level? And i will ask only one more time, i waiting 5 months and still nothing from you Jim, do you have any news about Honda outboard and integration with Axiom? Thank you.

    • @RaymarineInc
      @RaymarineInc  2 года назад +1

      Hello Dominik. Apologies if I missed an email from you. I do recall chatting about this previously but I could be mistaken. Always feel free to email me at james.mcgowan@raymarine.com
      Fuel tank levels need to come from compatible NMEA2000 fuel tank sending units. There are many different brands of them that will work with our system. If you are installing from scratch we recommend using Oceanic Systems brand sensors because we have extended support for their volumetric calibration system. Details here: osukl.com/raymarine-supports-senders/
      Some engine systems manage tank levels on their own via analog senders and convert the output of that sender to NMEA2000 digital data. Yamaha is an example of this.
      Axiom can also virtually estimate fuel remaining onboard if the boat's engines can provide fuel-flow information and you tell Axiom how much fuel is onboard when tanks are full. This is setup through Axiom's Fuel/Trip manager. Go to Home....My Data....Fuel/Trip and first go to the Fuel Setup tab. Here you can set what the boat's full fuel capacity is, and then figure out which NMEA2000 PGNs your engine system supports. Axiom can estimate fuel remaining based on either FUEL USED sent by the engine, or Fuel Flow, send by the engine or a compatible flow sensor.
      Many Honda engines are NMEA2000 compatible. Their ECM has a NMEA2000 port built-in. Using a Honda-supplied cable you can connect the engine computer directly to the NMEA2000 or Seatalk NG network. Axiom can display all the basics on Axiom's Dashboard application. At the present time we do not have a manufacturer-specific engine app for Honda, like we have for Yamaha and Mercury.
      This Honda Marine accessory catalog has all of their NMEA2000 components featured, including their NMEA2000 Signal Supply cables, which run from the engine computer to the network.

    Hi Jim we have had our axiom 7 for a year or so and just about to update to LH4. We run light house charts from the micro SD card which is in located in back slot. My question... How do we back up onto our new SD card as there is only one card slot. Regards Iain from NZ

    • @RaymarineInc
      @RaymarineInc  Год назад

      Hello Iain. You can backup your waypoints, routes, tracks and system settings right to your LightHouse Charts card. These files are extremely small and won't impact the charts in any way. You can leave your charts in the Axiom during the upgrade. Axiom may use some of the extra storage space on the card as swap space to temporarily store files it needs during the udpate process. Again, it should not impact your charts.

    How do I change the number of tanks in the boat set up screen? My Boston Whaler only has one fuel tank and the boat set up shows 2. I suspect that is what's confusing my fuel management system. How do I change the 2 tanks to 1 tank for fuel management?

    • @RaymarineInc
      @RaymarineInc  2 года назад

      Hi Jim. Do make sure your Axiom is running the latest software as we recently added some expanded capabilities for tank management. 4.0.82 is the current version, available online or via Wi-Fi to Axiom.
      Axiom has a new Tank Manager that you will want to get into. From the homescreen go to Settings...Boat Details...and scroll to the bottom of that tab and touch Configure Tanks. Axiom will come back with a list of all the tank level sensors it detects on the network. You can then touch each tank and tell Axiom what kind of tank it its, the contents, whether its dedicated to propulsion or not, and run calibrations on it (if compatible.)
      You might find our Lighthouse 4 Advanced Operation Manual helpful. The Tank manager is detailed starting on page 84. You can get the PDF version here: raymarine.app.box.com/s/3t839g2xf6nko4n0h9re535140rknnpz/folder/21066102633

    • @RaymarineInc
      @RaymarineInc  5 месяцев назад

      Yes. You can restore your system settings plus your personal navigation data (waypoints, routes, tracks) from the old unit. To make things go a bit smoother, I do recommend updating the software in the old unit to LightHouse 4.6 (the current release), then performing your backup of settings and data. Then install the new unit, update it to LightHouse 4.6, and then do the import. Occasionally, you may lose a setting or customization if there is a significant difference between software levels, but they can normally be manually re-configured. Once you get the new display fully setup, I recommend doing another backup of system settings and nav data to create a new baseline for restoration if needed.

    2 questions, if you don't mind.
    1) I will be installing an ACU-200 AP (controlling an Octopus remote drive) using only my Axioms to control it. If I install an RMK-10, will I have "wheel control" like I would with a p70R control head?
    2) With LH4, is there any news on LHCharts dock-to-dock functionality?
    Thank you. Keep up the great work!

    • @RaymarineInc
      @RaymarineInc  2 года назад +1

      Hi Robert. The pilot controls on Axiom are mainly touch-based (on screen) and don't make use of the rotary knob on the RMK-10 or built into Axiom Pro. That feature is called Power Steer, and is only available on the p70Rs controller.
      One other consideration if you are fishing is the automatic trolling patterns. Those are also not available through Axiom alone as a pilot controller. If you want to steer fishing patterns those need to be initiated from the p70R or p70Rs controller.
      Using Axiom you can calibrate and configure the autopilot, steer to a heading, steer to a waypoint, follow a route, and make course corrections to the pilot.
      I have no news yet on automatic routing using LightHouse Charts. It is still in development. For now automatic routing is only available with C-MAP or Navionics charts.

    • @RaymarineInc
      @RaymarineInc  2 года назад

      Axiom won't apply updates to your accessories unless they need them. When you are in the software update screen and the list of items on your network is presented, only items that are checked on the list are in need of an updated. Items detected, but having current software, remain unchecked and won't be updated.
      You can force a software update of those items by manually selecting it and checking the box. Axiom will confirm your action and advise if you will be re-installing the same version.

      Hello Adrian. The Fusion connectivity with Axiom is done either through NMEA2000 or with Ethernet, depending on which source unit you have from Fusion. The advantage Ethernet offers is the Fusion system will send album artwork across the network and populate it in the Axiom's audio app. Track and artist details come across either connection.

    1:00:46 , can I change the route: if we following a route LH jumps To fast from the waypoint we are following to the next waypoint.

    • @RaymarineInc
      @RaymarineInc  4 месяца назад

      Hello Robert. You might need to change the arrival interval in the Alarms menu on your Axiom display. There you can define how close you need to get to your waypoint in order for Axiom to advance the navigation to the next waypoint in the route sequence. It sounds like you have some waypoints that are fairly close together. If your arrival radius is larger than the distance between any 2 waypoints, this will cause Axiom to advance as many waypoints in a row as are inside that radius.
      On your Axiom home screen touch Alarms...Settings and it should be at the top of the list under Waypoint Arrival. There are 3 different settings. Arrival Radius controls the alarm for waypoints when you are not using the autopilot. Arrival radius (search route) controls the alarm for waypoints in a search-and rescue pattern. The third option, Arrival radius (pilot track mode) controls the alarm and auto-advance when your autopilot is engaged in navigation mode. You can have different values specified for each of those instances.

    How to integrate battery monitoring data like the Balmar sg200 with battery shunt and NMEA2000?

    • @RaymarineInc
      @RaymarineInc  Год назад

      Hello Ryan. Balmar offers a NMEA2000 Smart Shunt option for the their SG200. Officially they call it the SG230 NMEA2000 Battery monitor. It is a bit difficult to find on the Balmar website but the part number for the kit is SG2-0130. It allows you to add a NMEA2000 compatible SmartShunt to any existing SG200 system. It appears to include an adapter cable that changes the standard Deutsch connector to a NMEA2000 DeviceNet connector that can be connected into your boat's network.
      We added some additional NMEA2000 battery monitoring capability into the latest LightHouse 4.1 update. Axiom now has the ability to detect, monitor, sound alarms, and set customized names for compatible NMEA2000 batteries and battery systems. The NMEA PGNs (sentences) we are looking for are 127506 and 127508. There is a new "Battery Settings" menu for configuring this located at Home...Settings...Boat Details...Configure Batteries.
      Download our LightHouse 4.1 advanced operation handbook (page 55) for more details on it. That PDF is free on Raymairne.com here: raymarine.app.box.com/s/3t839g2xf6nko4n0h9re535140rknnpz/file/940558777450

      @RaymarineInc  2 года назад

      Hello Robert. SOG (Speed Over Ground) comes from the boat's GPS. In the data library where you are looking, go to the GPS category and you'll find SOG there.
      On Raymarine systems we tend to break out the data by where it comes from in the data library. Course Over Ground, Speed Over Ground and Position are GPS outputs.
      Anything referenced to the word "Speed" comes from an in-the-water transducer, typically a paddlewheel or ultrasonic transducer, measuring speed through the water.
      If you have sensors onboard for both SOG and Speed, we can use those different measurement to derive other pieces of information like the real-time speed of the current.

      @RaymarineInc  2 года назад

      Hi Andrew. If you are missing your transducer after upgrading to LightHouse 4, you might try cycling the power to the system, or trying a factory reset of your Axiom display.
      Before resetting it you can back up your waypoints, routes and tracks to your microSD card at Home....My Data...Import/Export....Save My Data....Save All Data. It will ask you to choose a destination and you can save it right onto your mapping card.
      To get to the factory reset screen go to Home...Settings....This Display and Factory Reset is at the bottom of the menu.
      Hopefully that brings the transducer back. You can then restore your data at Home...My Data...Import/Export...Import from Card. Browse to the folder Raymarine....My Data....and touch the file ARCHIVE_MM_DD_YYYY.GPX. The file name has the date you backed up embedded in it.

      Hello Andre. Axiom units can read cards formatted in NTFS, FAT32 or exFAT formats. We can read MicroSDSC, MicroSDHC, and MicroSDXC cards as large at 2 TB (Terrabytes.)
      If you are going to store any LightHouse Charts on your card then the card must be formatted in exFAT format.
      For best performance we recommend using Class 10 or Ultra High Speed cards (or better) with Axiom. Like a high-performance digital camera system Axiom can store and retrieve data very quickly, particularly when storing video snapshots or recording from one or more networked video sources.

    • @RaymarineInc
      @RaymarineInc  Год назад

      Hello David. Beginning with Axiom we have been shifting our products to use a standard NMEA2000 DeviceNet port. As new products get introduced, that trend will likely continue. The SeaTalk NG network is a hybrid system that carries NMEA2000 sentences over our proprietary cabling system. You may notice that STNG cables have some additional wires in them that standard NMEA2000 cables do not. These were there to support our very large base of customers running our original SeaTalk networking. As we continue into the future, the number of legacy "SeaTalk 1" devices gets smaller and smaller, so the need for the hybrid cabling will drop off.

    Hi,
    I’m using an eS120 MFD with Lighthouse 2. I didn’t want to upgrade to LH3 due to the loss of some features I like in LH2. Is my MFD capable of running LH4? If not is there an updated comparison of LH2 and LH3 available somewhere on the site?

      Hello John. Your MFD won't run LightHouse 4. Honestly, if you like LightHouse 2 and its features, I wouldn't upgrade it to LightHouse 3. There is really not much to be gained. The LightHouse 3 update for eS-Series was really offered to be a bridge for customers who were considering adding Axiom products to their boats back when those were new. If you don't have an Axiom in your system, there are few advantages to going to LightHouse 3 on eS-Series.

Since I've not used this yet can I get the update along with charts for NA-USA and put it all on a card so I can get this done quickly when we get the boat? Hello John. Axiom models can read standard microSD cards to 4GB, MicroSDHC up to 32GB and MicroSDXC card up to 2TB in size. You can definitely pull down the LightHouse 4 update from Raymarine.com and have it ready on a card.
      Currently, we only sell the LightHouse Charts North America charts on a pre-loaded card. Any Raymarine dealer can order one for you, the part number is R70794.
      It is worth asking your boat dealer if the Axiom that is pre-installed onboard comes with charts. Many of the units we sell come bundled with either Navionics or LightHouse Charts in the box, so you may have this chart coming already.

    Jim, I’m thinking of adding sonar to my sailboat. I don’t fish, but we will be cruising in Nova Scotia, along Maine and Mass. l’m intrigued about the prospect of seeing whales before they surface or while they are below our boat. Which sonar would you recommend for that purpose. Thanks so much.

    • @RaymarineInc
      @RaymarineInc  2 года назад

      Either our Axiom RV our Element HV would be a great choice for this. I would choose the Axiom RV model if you intend that this sonar/chartplotter/MFD unit might also become the boat's primary navigation system. The Axiom-series units are touch-controlled and feature our RealVision 3D sonar system in them. Their SideVision and DownVision sonar work particularly well for imaging whales in the water column around the boat. Axiom supports networking with other Axiom displays, plus radar, cameras, instruments, pilot, etc.
      If your boat already has an extensive navigation and radar system onboard, you could look at the Element HV series instead. These units have extremely capable SideVision, DownVision and 3D sonar too, as well as GPS and charting. This model is a bit less expensive than Axiom and it button-controlled, rather than touch. This system is not networkable like an Axiom is, though it can talk to basic instruments and autopilot if desired. In addition to its sonar, it would also make a great backup to your boat's primary navigation system.
      For either of these systems I suggest using a through-hull transducer for the sonar since this is a sailboat application. The transducer needs to mount forward of your keel so its side-scanning sonar beams are not blocked to port or starboard from its mounted position. If that is not possible we do offer dual-transducer systems that split into a port-side array and starboard-side array that is joined together inside the boat and fed to the screen. The prevents blockage or shadowing of the beams.

    Yes, Love the simplified menu. Why are we not able to have an option or add more tiled screens like on a tablet so we can add more than the stuck 3 screens and 18 tiles. i have all my cameras on-screen one, charts with other apps on screen two and then screen 3 has my multiple fish finder screens including different ducers and frequency and this leaves me with no engine data, my drone screens etc. I could do with the option to add another one or two to keep them all spaces out, they would also allow you to see the dog and still see the all your tiles. I could afford to lose 4 tiles from any screen , unless i have another page. Also, on the live data screens, would it be possible to have a live camera tile view, or live sounder view, so you can see what it is before you open it other than just by its title

A copy of the image is uploaded into the memory of that particular Axiom. You can then eject that card.

      I suspect you are not getting true wind direction because maybe you do not have a heading sensor in the system. Heading normally comes from a connected autopilot's compass unit, or a dedicated heading sensor. Without heading information the system does not know which direction the boat is pointed unless its underway (using course over ground from GPS.) I don't think those values will be populated from COG alone. I'll try to find out more about it.

      The update files for Axiom LightHouse 4 are pretty large (just over 2 GB) so it is better to use a seperate card for system updates.
      Your LightHouse Charts card, if it came in a Raymarine-supplied kit, should be formatted already and ready to use.
      There is a file on the card called lighthouse_id.txt. This file is used to key the charts to that memory card. You could pop the card into your computer and double-check that file is already there. If it is, you can proceed to the chart store and download the regions you want.
      In the event its not there, you will need to insert the card into an Axiom display. Axiom will generate that file and then the card can be used on the store.
      We use exFAT formatting on the LightHouse Charts memory cards. That should be done already on any card we supply.

      Hello Asen. Speed should not be an issue on your display, especially with Navionics. They generally run the fastest of all the charts we support. I suggest you backup all your waypoints, routes and tracks, then update to LightHouse 4, and then before putting it into service do a factory reset to flush out Axiom's background cache. That might be the source of the problem. You can then restore your navigation data and it should be extremely fast.
      Bback up your waypoints, routes and tracks to your microSD card at Home....My Data...Import/Export....Save My Data....Save All Data. It will ask you to choose a destination and you can save it right onto your mapping card.

      Once that finishes and restarts factory reset your display. Go to Home...Settings....This Display and Factory Reset is at the bottom of the menu.
      After it restarts you will need to run through the startup wizard. Then you can then restore your data at Home...My Data...Import/Export...Import from Card. Works about 50% of the time and if this is the case, I connect my mobile and download via WIFI. AS I have had success with downloading the upgrades via an SD card, I don't understand why it works some of the time (I am diligent to unzip the files etc and reasonably tech savvy, but can't always get it to work first time).

      Hi Terry. I have seen that occasionally too. If you find its not reading the SD card, do try ejecting the card and reseating it. You can verify too that it has recognized and mounted the card by going to Home....My Data...Files and seeing if the card is illuminated in the file browser or not. On updates over Wi-Fi when tethered to a mobile hotspot, it does seem to do better with a strong 4G or 5G mobile connection. Our updates are pretty large downloads, and sometimes if the connection drops even for a split second, it can lose part of the file.

      Hello Paul. Pitch and Roll information typically comes from our Evolution EV-1 or EV-2 heading sensors, our AR200 module, or some third party devices that have an AHRS sensor in them. Airmar weather stations, for example. The older autopilots that don't utilize the EV-1 or EV-2 heading sensor don't output roll information.
      The ability to select different data sources for NMEA2000 information may be disabled if there are certain legacy products connected to the network that do not support selection of multiple data sources. You autopilot might be an older Seatalk 1 pilot, connected via adapter, that is preventing that from working.
      On Raymarine systems we differentiate between SPEED and SOG. Anytime you see the word SPEED as a data item, it refers to speed through the water, and requires there to be a suitable paddlewheel transducer or in-the-water ultrasonic transducer connected. SOG is Speed Over Ground, which comes from your GPS receiver. If you don't have a source for speed through the water you can edit that databox or display item to show SOG instead. In most instances simple long-press on it, select EDIT, and browse the GPS category and select SOG.

    How do I get vessel view on my axiom 9 plus? I go to the apps but can't locate a vessel view app.

    • @RaymarineInc
      @RaymarineInc  2 года назад

      There are a few things you need to make VesselView work on your Axiom display.
      First, and most important, you need a Mercury Marine SmartCraft Connect gateway installed on your boat. This part is available from your local Mercury dealer, and needs to be programmed to work with your boat's engines. Once this gateway module is programmed and installed, it will plug into both the SmartCraft network as well as your boat's SeatTalk NG/NMEA2000 network where Axiom is also connected.
      Second, you need to tell Axiom that you have Mercury engines. Go to Home....Settings...Boat Details and look for the button that says Engine Manufacturer. Choose Mercury from the list.
      Third, you'll need to add the VesselView app to your Axiom home screen. Long-press on one of your home screen tiles and select Customize from the popup menu. Choose a Full screen layout to get started, and in the listing of apps choose VesselView. It will usually be the last app on the bottom. Follow the prompts to give your tile a name and save it. When you get back to the homescreen touch on the new VesselView tile. Assuming you have the SmartCraft Connect gateway installed, you will see data from your engines in the Mercury app.
      The Mercury VesselView app can also be displayed as a half-screen with another app (radar, chart, fishfinder, etc.) There is also a VesselView slide-out sidebar that you can pull out from the left side of the screen when you are inside any app.
      There are 4 different models of Mercury SmartCraft Connect gateways, depending on the number of engines you have. You can get the full details and Mercury part numbers here:
      www.mercurymarine.com/en/us/gauges-and-controls/gauges-displays/smartcraft-connect/
      I do recommend updating Axiom to the latest software version too, currently 4.0.77, as we have been adding support for additional Mercury Marine features over the last 4 or 5 updates we have issued.

    Jim, I upgraded my Raymarine Axiom 9 with a card successfully to Lighthouse 4. I closed the plotter down and I put in my Navionics Baltic chart card. The plotter can’t find the card and now I tried to upgrade the card in my computer but it says “reformat the card”. I tried that but it didn’t work either. The card was very hot when I took it out. What should I do? Christian in Stockhom, Sweden

    • @RaymarineInc
      @RaymarineInc  2 года назад

      Hello Christian. I'm glad to hear that the update was successful, but concerned that your Navionics card could not read after you were done. From what you describe it sounds like the Navionics card might have been corrupted.
      When you put it into the computer and it suggested formatting it, that means that the computer could not see a valid file system on the card. That would also be why Axiom could not read it. That can happen if the card is removed from Axiom, or any computer, without ejecting it through the software. If the card was removed during a write cycle, it can cause corruption of the data on the card. On Axiom you can swipe or press the power button momentarily and a menu appears with an option to eject the card. Axiom will then make sure its safe to eject it, and prompt you when to proceed.
      Unfortunately, choosing to format the card while it was in your computer would have wiped any remaining data from it.
      Fortunately, Navionics cards are recoverable. You will need to send an email to Navionics support with your account information and chart title. They can email you back the nTag.txt identification file that identifies your chart card to their system. With that file back in place you can rebuild the card using the same Navionics Chart Installer app you use for updates.
      Would you be able to email me at james.mcgowan@raymarine.com? I would like to be able to follow up in case our team would like to gather more information about your system.

    Hey Jim, I installed my axiom 12 and have an axiom 7 dv. Had the charts and lighthouse 4 downloaded to the navionics card itself from my computer and updated my axiom 12 with the card. It would not upgrade the 7 through its network. Plugged the card into the 7 to update to lighthouse 4, it updated to lighthouse 4 but will not share the navionics charts, only the screen with the card will display the chart. Won’t show the charts on my 7 now, only the 12. Everything else talks, it shows my AIS on both screens but will only show charts on one screen. How can I share my charts to the other screen with one card?

    • @RaymarineInc
      @RaymarineInc  2 года назад +1

      Hello Bobby. Are your 2 Axiom screens linked together with a Raynet ethernet cable? From the sounds of it, they might not be. If you can see the back of either screen, look for a cable plugged into the port called "Network." The RayNet connection is the high-speed Ethernet that allows them to share charts, share access to the transducers, share radar, etc.
      In addition to RayNet high speed Ethernet, your displays also have NMEA2000/Seatalk NG connections. That is a lower-bandwidth connection for sharing navigation data, AIS, engine data, etc. Where your AIS is being shared, its possible that you have Seatalk NG connected, but not Raynet.

    • @RaymarineInc
      @RaymarineInc  2 года назад

      Hello Jean. Augmented reality and stabilization do work with the M232 thermal camera. You can overlay AIS symbology, navigation aids and nearby waypoints onto the augmented reality layer.
      Axiom will also provide vertical stabilization and roll stabilization to the M232 image to keep its horizon level and stable. It's a bit different than what happens on the larger FLIR cameras that have mechanical stabilization, but it is highly effective when the boat is bouncing and rolling.

    • @RaymarineInc

      I suspect the screen that is not updating may not have enough onboard storage space available to download and unpack the update files, or perform some other file operations during the update. This can be corrected by inserting a blank MicroSD card into that units card slot and re-running the update. Axiom will use extra space on the card to perform its necessary file operations for the update. If that is not your primary Axiom display, I suggest leaving that card inside when you are done so it is available for future use if needed.

      There are 2 different ways to connect a Smartphone to Axiom, depending on what you want to do. One way connects Axiom to the Internet for updates, its apps (Netflix, Spotify, PredictWind, etc.). The other way supports linking Axiom to the Raymarine app for mirroring, remote control, etc.
      If you want to connect Axiom to the internet, a Wi-Fi hotspot, or your phone's mobile hotspot, go to Home....Apps....and in the top right corner there is a button you can use to select the SSID of your network, and then enter the password and connect.
      Axiom's hotspot (for the Raymarine App, Navionics Boating) is configured from Home....Settings....This Display....Wireless Sharing. Here you can define the name of the SSID you want Axiom to broadcast to other devices, choose the connection password, encryption level, etc. If the network Axiom is connected to has internet access on it (for example, if you had a YachtSense Link Marine Router on the Axiom network) then Axiom would also make internet access available through that hotspot too.

      Hello Len. Those status indicators on the lower left corners are there to indicate chart orientation and vector settings on the chartplotter. On the sonar screens that button provide quick access to adjustments for Gain, Intensity, Surface Filtering, etc. They were there on LightHouse 3 as well, but they were butted up against the edges of the screen. In LightHouse 4 our UI designers pulled all of the controls and indicators just slightly out from the edges of the screen to make them a bit easier to read.
      When you are on a split screen page, those corner indicators disappear on the non-active window, and reappear when you touch that window to control it. Its not possible to turn them off completely though.

      Hi John. You can use just about any Bluetooth mouse and keyboard, but the one we officially work with is called an iKey BT-80-TP. It's a waterproof, industrial grade Bluetton keyboard and trackpad. This is the manufacturer's site: www.ikey.com/product/bt-80-tp/
      As you may know we supply systems to the United States Coast Guard and many other maritime law enforcement and safety agencies around the world. Part of their requirement was to have a ruggedized mouse and keyboard available for quick entry of data into the system. The keyboard is commonly used on response boats, police cars, fire trucks, etc. Its has points on it for RAM mount brackets, and it is pretty indestructible.
      Here at my workstation I have a Logitech BT keyboard and mouse from a local Staples office supplies running on my Axiom XL16. Most of these Bluetooth devices all use the same drivers, so they are pretty universal in compatibility.

    Is Lighthouse 4 compatible with an Axiom and es78 networked MFD system?

    • @RaymarineInc
      @RaymarineInc  2 года назад

      Unfortunately, no. On your mixed Axiom and eS-Series system you are limited to going to higher than LightHouse 3.11 (we named it after the French seaport Cannes.) If you update your Axiom higher than that it will lose connectivity to the eS-Series display.
      The eS-Series and gS-Series units are an older hardware platform, with dual-core (instead of quad-core) processors and less RAM memory than Axiom has. They are also technically Linux operating system rather than Android. We built special versions of LightHouse 3 in Linux to allow those products to work alongside Axiom when we were transitioning products.
