      Hello Mark. I understand where you are coming from. We did have some issues last year about this time with LightHouse 4.0 was released. We've learned some lessons and made some pretty significant changes related to the way we test and issue software as a result of that experience. This latest software release, 4.4.70, had a pretty extensive beta-test period that encompassed a pool of several hundred power and sail boats from all over the world. We actively solicit feedback from our beta testers to identify issues prior to general release. I understand if you do want to wait a bit, but know when you are ready, you can be confident in the software.

    Hello james, I watch all your reviews. Thanks for the content.
    So my question is: If I use the axiom 2 pro RVM with the CP570 would it work as 2k chirp sonar?
    Or if it doesn’t do 2k, should I not use any modules, since Axiom 2 pro RVM is already a 2 channel 1k Chirp sonar?
    Thank you.

    • @Raymarine
      @Raymarine  2 месяца назад

      Hello Marcelo! Thanks for watching. The sonar that is built into the Axiom 2 Pro RVM models supports 1kW CHIRP. If you want to move up to the more powerful 2kW system, the CP470 or CP570 Professional modules are what you need. Also remember you need to use a transducer that is 2kW capable too so you can take advantage of the increased power output. If you were to attach a 1kW transducer to a 2kW sonar, the sonar will reduce its output to prevent damage to the transducer.
      The CP470 and CP570 Professional both have 2kW output. You may be asking what the difference is between them? The CP470 is 2kW of power output, with a single transceiver. The CP570 professional is 2kW of power output with dual transceivers. Both models support CHIRP low, medium and high frequency bands. Depending on which transducer you choose, you'll be access any 2 of those bands. If you are operating both bands at the same time, the CP570 can ping each channel faster than the 470 can because there is a dedicated transceiver and sonar channel for each of its 2 frequencies. Both bands can run at full speed all the time, which gives a faster and more detailed update in deep water.
      The CP470 has a single transceiver and sonar channel that is shared between its 2 frequency bands. This means when using both bands simultaneously it must alternate pings between bands. The update rate is slower as a result.

    Hello Jim,
    Yesterday I fitted a new Axiom 2 Pro. It replaces an Axiom Pro.
    I’ve been playing with it, updated lighthouse to the latest.
    One feature that no longer works is Auto Route. When I request an Auto Route it runs the progress bar but when finished there is no route built.

    • @Raymarine
      @Raymarine  Год назад

      Yours is the first report of this I have heard. Auto-routing seems to be working on my system here with version 4.5.84 installed. I would first double-check that you have your boat details configured. Go to Home..Settings..Boat Details. For Navionics automatic routing the boat's draft is entered. Navionics does not factor safe width or safe height into its automatic routing algorithm. Those are used with C-MAP charts.
      There are instances where you may receive a message at the end that says something like "safe route could not be generated." This occurs when there are shallow areas very close to the generated route that need to be manually reviewed. Those areas will use an icon with an exclamation point (!) icon to call attention to them. Typically though, there are waypoints and a route line generated.
      If you continue having issues with it, please if possible shoot a short video of it and email it to me so I can ask our engineers to take a look. james.mcgowan@raymarine.com.

    Hey Jim, would love to add a couple new rmv transducers but also don’t want drag and to slow my boat down. Transom option is better?

    • @Raymarine
      @Raymarine  Год назад

      Hi Peter. The through-hull transducers will offer better sonar performance, generally, because they sit deeper in the water and are subjected to less turbulence than is present at the transom of the boat. Our RealVision 3D and RealVision MAX transducers are designed to be low-profile and hydrodynamically shaped to minimize drag. With the RealVision MAX transducers, the through hulls do have significant performance upgrade that the transom mount does not have, in that we were able to lengthen the ceramic elements internally used for the SideVision, DownVision and 3D channels. The extra length allows us to focus those beams even more tightly for increased detail. The extra length also makes them more sensitive and improves the signal strength and range on them.

    Jim, I have an a125 chart plotter on my 2017 boat, a 232 FLIR and Quantum radar. I do not fish. I am looking to upgrade my chart plotter, what do you recommend?

    • @Raymarine
      @Raymarine  Год назад

      Hello Salvatore. The Axiom 12+ chartplotter version (E70638) would be a good one to consider. We offer an adapter plate kit (A80527) that allows the Axiom 12 to drop right into the hole your a125 leaves behind. It makes for an easy and clean installation. The E70638 version of the Axiom 12 does not have the RealVision 3D fishing sonar inside, so it's a bit less expensive than the Axiom+ 12 RV model.

    When you have 2 Axiom plotters in a network, do both have to be on? Can you use the master plotter without the other one being on. For example, if you have one in the cockpit (with the maps) and one on the flybridge.
    Thank you for the great videos!

    • @Raymarine
      @Raymarine  9 месяцев назад +1

      The master MFD has to be on in order for the secondary to receive data, so if you want to use the secondary, the master must be powered on. If you are not using the secondary, you can turn it off without impacting the master.
      The possible exception to this though is if your secondary display is the display that has your map cards plugged into it, or if you are using the RayNet high speed network ports to connect to accessories like your radar scanner, networked cameras, etc. If that applies, you'd want to leave the secondary powered on so those accessories are available to the master.

    I'm replacing an older Raymarine system on my sailboat and currently have two thru hull transducers. New tri-data speed/temp/speed means one of the thru hulls is redundant.
    Any thoughts on what to do. I'm thinking using the second hole for a CPT-S connected to an Axiom 9RV. Or keep a redundant depth sensor?

    • @Raymarine
      @Raymarine  Год назад +1

      Hello Shane. I am guessing it is probably a 2-inch through hull since most of the sailing instruments use that size. I'm not sure that adding a CPT-S to it will buy you much, unless you want to be able to see the bottom contour or do some "light" fish-finding. The CPT-S transducer does support the 170-230 kHz high frequency CHIRP channel. Be advised though that the CPT-S through hull is slightly larger at 2.3-inches. You will need to drill it out just a bit larger.

    • @Raymarine

      Hello Jim. The RVM-100 transducer is not compatible with Axiom+. That new transducer is for the RealVision MAX sonar found in the Axiom 2 Pro RVM displays and RVM-1600 sonar module only.
      For the Axiom+ RV you'll need to use the RV-100 (note there is no 'M' is this one) transom mount version of the RealVision 3D transducer. Our part number for it is A80464.

    The CAM300, does it offer any stabilization feature? What about active pan and tilt? Also, is there any video specific to the the features of the CAM300 and Augmented Reality? Thank you.

    • @Raymarine
      @Raymarine  Год назад

      The CAM300 is a fixed mount camera. It doesn't have any native stabilization of its own. When installed along with our AR200 Augmented Reality module, digital stabilization of this camera is done by Axiom. The Augmented Reality overlays are generated in the Axiom displays, using the live video from the camera, the motion and position data from the AR200, and inputs from your AIS receiver, electronic charts and waypoint library. This camera is brand new in our lineup. I'll try to get more content on it added into our schedule.

    For the Axiom Pro , is there a way to adjust the chart contour lines to be more accurate to what you are reading on the depth finder. For example when you are directly over a high spot but you are not graphically on the high spot relative to chart contours, Thx

    • @Raymarine
      @Raymarine  Год назад

      The contour lines on your chart card aren't adjustable, however, you might benefit from turning on either SonarChart Live (for Navionics charts) or RealBathy (for LightHouse charts) which generates contour lines in real-time using your live depth sounder and GPS. These are an additional layer that reflect the actual conditions you are seeing that day. Go to Menu...Settings...Depths...and turn on Sonar Recording. Just below that you'll be able to turn on either SonarChart Live or RealBathy.
      The contour lines that are programmed on the map card are reflective of the water depths at a condition called Mean Lower Low Water. If the tide is above that reference, you'll likely see deeper depths on your sonar that you are seeing reported on the chart.

    I have a used 2008 Grady White Canyon 336. Im looking to upgrade the electronics now, but i dont want to haul out of the water. The boat currently has twin E120 Classics and 18” Radome, all of which are giving me problems and nobody knows how to fix them.The biggest problem seems to be “No Data Source”, whatever that means. I dont know exactly what transducer is currently attached. My question is if i upgrade to twin Axiom 2 Pro 12 RVM and Quantum radar, can I use the transducer I have now and upgrade that in the off-season? Also, is this compatible to adding an autopilot for the twin Yamaha 350’s. I would like to add this at some point. Thank you.

    • @Raymarine
      @Raymarine  4 месяца назад

      Hello Tony. Thanks for watching the show and for commenting.
      If you do decide to upgrade, yes, you can most likely use your existing transducer as long as it works now. The E120 classic displays used either a DSM250 or DSM300 sonar module. Your transducer is plugged into that now. Remove the transducer from the DSM. You can plug it into the 1kW CHIRP sonar port on any Axiom 2 Pro model using adapter cable A80496. Your Axiom 2 Pro's internal sonar will see both the 200 kHz and 50 kHz channels.
      This upgraded system is autopilot compatible whenever you are ready to add it. For a 2008 Yamaha system you'll most likely need our Evolution EV200 Hydraulic autopilot kit, part number T70157. Before you purchase it we should confirm the size of the hydraulic steering cylinder that is used to steer your motors. The autopilot's pump output is matched to the volume of that hydraulic cylinder. The Type 1 pump included in that kit is suitable for hydraulic cylinders from 4.9 to 14 cubic inches in volume. If yours happens to be larger, we'll need to move you up to the EV400 Hydraulic autopilot, which supports the larger cylinder. I recommend having an electronics dealer or boatyard look over your setup before you order the pilot to evaluate exactly what you have and will need to complete the installation.
      On your current E120 Classic system, the No Data Source message you are seeing means the E120 display is not seeing any communication from the radar scanner. I suspect this is an analog radar, plugged directly into the back of one of the E120 screens into the radar connector. There could be a number of possible issues causing that message. Check the radar interconnect cable at the display. Make sure the pins are clean and shiny and the plug is firmly seated. You could try moving it from one display to the other, as they both have that same radar connection available. If you are adventurous you could remove the radome cover and check where the cable is connected internally to the scanner. Inside the dome it splits into 2 parts. The heavy red and black leads are connected to power terminals. Make sure they are clean and tight. The rest of the cable is a cluster of 8 small connectors attached to a rectangular connector and plugged into the radar. Make sure that plug is clean and securely fastened. Inspect the 8 wires to see that they are all actually attached to the connector. If all of that checks out, the scanner itself could have an internal fault. Unfortunately due to age and parts unavailability we can't repair them any longer.

I have two Axiom+, the ACU and EV1 Sensor on one side of the injection point (about 6' downstream) and a Ray73 and the P70Rs upstream (plugged into the triple connector right next to the P70, R73 on the other side of the P70). Based on my count it should be balanced but it's tough to get a feel for what amp I need for the network.

    • @Raymarine
      @Raymarine  Год назад

      Hello Ernie. The SeaTalk NG network gets fused with a 5-amp fuse or circuit breaker. Even though you have multiple devices connected, only the EV1 and p70 controller are receiving power from the STNG network. Most items are just sending and receiving data, but not receiving actual power. The balance of your layout should work out just fine.

      Hello Erik. This is an interesting issue that I have not heard of before. By default Axiom saves waypoints, routes and tracks to its internal memory, and from there you can back it up to your microSD card.
      If this started after the update, it might be that there is some bad data or residual data stuck in Axiom's file cache from the prior software version causing the trouble. My suggestion is to first backup any data that is saved, and then try a factory reset.
      You can backup any stored waypoints, routes and tracks from Home..My Data...Import/Export....Save Data....Save All. Save it to your map card or another microSD inserted in the card reader.
      To reset your Axiom go to Home...Settings....This Display....and scroll all the way to the bottom and touch Factory Reset. Once it restarts you can restore your data from the backup using the same menu (Retrieve from Card.)

      The Raystar 150 and EV-1 heading sensor won't conflict. Raystar 150 is a network GPS receiver. The EV-1, part of your Evolution EV150 Autopilot, is an electronic compass and pilot course computer. In fact, they will work together when they see each other on the network. One of the many features the EV-1 performs is stabilization of GPS course-over-ground and speed-over-ground calculations. The EV-1's highly sensitive solid-state gyro measures the pitch, roll, yaw and heave motions of the boat, and then actively removes any GPS inaccuracies they cause. The result is tighter course-keeping and more stable steering while under autopilot control.

      The Garmin AIS800 supports NMEA 2000 networking, as does the Axiom 9 and Axiom 12. It should work based on that spec, but i can't really speak for compatibility of Garmin devices. I’m looking to build a complete electronics package for a 2000 Sea Ray 410 Sundancer that has no electronics otherwise than a vhf radio installed.
    Does Ray marine have a package builder or a checklist that would walk me through everything that I would need to get?
    It’s really confusing trying to piece individual components and then wonder if they will work together or not.
    It would be great to have a site where I could select all the items or features I want and then have the system build a package or spit out a order form so I know what to purchase.

      Hello Stefan. Use adapter cable A80492 to connect both of your transducers to the Axiom+ 12 RV. This adapter cable has a 25-pin connector to mate to the Axiom's transducer port. It is split to a pair of connections. Connection #1 accepts the 25-pin RV-100 3D transducer. Connection #2 is a 7-pin connector that supports Airmar non-CHIRP transducers like your SS164.

    Jim... A couple questions about the Cam 300: First, is it available with the logo orientation for right-side-up, or upside-down mounting? I am considering the use of two of them, and one would have to be mounted as it sits on your desk in this video. It would drive me bananas if the logos were upside down. Worst case, can the logos be removed? Also, the second camera would be mounted for rear view...on a light bar...with the camera's cable fished through the light bar. Looks like the camera comes with a splicing kit for individuals who have to cut the cable to fish through a narrow passage. How long is the cable before it must be cut for the wider portion? Wondering if I would have enough narrow cable length to fish through a 2-foot-long light bar with where it would have to be cut. TIA.

    • @Raymarine
      @Raymarine  Год назад

      Thanks for watching, Gerald. Strangely, the logo on the CAM300's are all in that same orientation. That bugs me as well, seeing it upside down. Worst-cast though, I quick swipe with a bit of acetone would take the logo off completely. It is a silk-screen logo, rather than vinyl. The white camera body itself is powder coated so the acetone won't bother it.
      The CAM300's cable pigtail is about 2-feet long overall, from the camera body to the end of its RJ-45 connector. That block you see in the cable is the power supply unit when the camera is run in Power-Over-Ethernet mode. In order to make the camera itself as small as possible, the power supply unit was moved outside of the camera body. It is 24mm (0.93 inches) in diameter, so any mount or mounting surface would need to have a hole of that size to pass the power supply block through. The base of the camera itself is 59mm (2.32 inches) so can completely cover that hole.
      You have about 7-inches of cable on either side of that power supply connector to work with.
      We do have a measured set of dimensions for this camera here: raymarine.app.box.com/s/rvhycb6x1brzo64921k5tsqwv2ica3j6/file/1119070714128

      You can have different apps and screen layouts running on multiple Axioms at the same helm. No problem there at all. For example you could run radar on one, and chart on the other. You can also show split screens of different apps simultaneously.
      Axiom does not support an extended screen/extended desktop like you might see on a PC with dual monitors. For example if you were looking to spread the radar across both screens to make 1 large radar screen, that would not be possible.
      We do not offer a forward looking sonar in our lineup, however, we have a technical partnership with EchoPilot. Their FLS 3D forward looking sonar integrates with our Axiom displays. You can get the details on its capabilities here:

      Hello Michael. Your Axiom+ RV and its RealVision 3D transducer support RealVision 3D, DownVision, SideVision and high frequency CHIRP. Another cool, but little known feature of the Axiom+ RV is that it also supports 200 kHz and 50 kHz sonar with 600-watts of power. The 50 kHz sonar in particular will you some extra capability when you get out into the deeper parts of the lake. You can activate this features by adding an accessory Y-Cable to your Axiom, and then adding a compatible Airmar transducer. The Y-Cable is part number A80492. Plug its 25-pin connection into your Axiom's transducer connector. The adapter gives you 2 connections. #1 is a 25-pin plug to re-connect your RealVision 3D transducer. #2 is a 7-pin connector that will host any Airmar non-CHIRP transducer from our lineup of CP370 compatible transducers. We have in hull, through hull and transom mount options. There are 2 things to know about this. First, the new 200 kHz channel will replace the high frequency CHIRP channel. Second, the water temperature sensor will come from the new Airmar transducer, and the water temp sensor in your current RealVision 3D transducer will be disabled.

    Does the axiom 2 pro 12 have hyper vision on the side scan in 1.2 megahertz?

    • @Raymarine
      @Raymarine  Год назад

      It does not. HyperVision 1.2 MHz is exclusively found in our Element series products.
      RealVision MAX, found in Axiom 2 Pro, offers improvements to our CHIRP DownVision, SideVision, 3D and high-frequency channels. It has a faster ping rate which increases the detail. When used with a through-hull RVM transducer, the beams used to image DownVision, SideVision and 3D modes are significantly tighter than the prior-generation RealVision 3D system, and also more sensitive due to being larger. The high frequency CHIRP fish-finding channel in Axiom 2 Pro is bumped up to 600-watts of output power, and the ceramic sensor that it drives is significantly larger which creates a more focused beam and much higher receive sensitivity.

If you see a blank Speed databox anywhere on the system you can edit it to display SOG instead. In most instances, long-pressing on the data item will pop up a menu where you can edit the data displayed in that field.

      Hello David. Normally on a networked system all of them would update at the same time as long as they are all powered on. The master unit will typically update all of the other units first, then update itself.
      If the other 3 units were not turned on, or, if a network switch linking them together was not on, then this might not have worked. Where GPS is not being received on the others, that also makes me think that there is a networking issue.
      I would double check that everything is turned on, including your network switch. Then, you can re-start the update process from the master unit. This time it will just update the other ones since it is already up-to-date.

    I have an Axion 12 with 5 Maretron TLM100 tank level sensors connected through the STNG network. The sensors have been calibrated using the Maretron software so their name and tank dimensions are defined. However the tank level screens on the Axiom seem only to randomly display the tank names which I believe should be read from the TLM100 devices - sometimes the names are all displayed, sometimes only one or two are displayed and sometimes none are displayed in which a generic name like "fuel %" may be displayed. Also, only one tank allows me to add a level display of volume rather than % level. What should I do to dort thus out - I have the latest version if lighthouse installed.

    • @Raymarine

      Hello Kevin. There is a tank manager in Axiom that might be helpful for adjusting the names. Go to Settings...Boat Details...Tanks. All of the senders should show up there, and you may see some portion of the name you created with the Maretron software. Depending on how long those names are, or if there are any special characters in the names, Axiom might not be able to properly decode them. Touch on any sender and select NAME from the menu. Here you can again define the name that Axiom will use for that tank/sender. That name is stored in Axiom and associated with the sender's NMEA 2000 digital ID.

    • @Raymarine
      @Raymarine  Год назад

      Typically Axioms on the same network would be linked with a RayNet high speed network cable and not just NMEA2000. That high-speed network link is needed for one Axiom to update another due to the size of the update file. The NMEA 2000 network is too slow to pass the Axiom update across. Aside from updates, the RayNet cable also lets the Axioms share charts, transducers, radar, cameras, etc. Most likely, you do have this cable but if not you should consider adding it.
      The other possibility is that the 2nd Axiom did not have enough available free storage space to accept the update. The master Axiom shares the update with the others, who must store it locally in order to install it. Each Axiom will either store it to its built-in storage memory, or will utilize some of the extra space available on any plugged in microSD card. You can plug any microSD card into the second Axiom and it will use it for that extra storage space. I recommend using a card 2GB is size or larger. It can be totally blank, there is no need to have maps or anything else on it. With that card inserted, run the update process again and it should work.

      Thanks for watching the show and commenting. Your Axiom Pro 9 has a screen resolution of 1280 x 720, where the Axiom Pro 12 has a resolution of 1280 x 800. Overall, very close. The 9-inch screen probably appears sharper because (essentially) the same number of pixels are compressed in a smaller area. The 9-inch is technically also a tad brighter at 1300 nits, vx. 1200 nits on the 12-inch screen. This is also a case where the backlighting is illuminating a smaller area, so it is a bit more effective.
      For equalizing the backlighting you might benefit from turning on shared brightness control, which will link the backlights of the 9 and 12-inch together and synchronize them. On both screens go to Home...Settings...This Display and turn on Shared Brightness. Assign them both to the same group (Helm 1). Then on one or the other, touch Synchronize. After a few seconds they will link. From there on out, anytime you adjust the brightness on one, they will both change together. I think you'll find they'll match brightness levels better too.

      @Raymarine
      Hi raymarine team.
      Thanks for replying to my Expensive issue.
      If I know that the 9pro is better picture and brightness than 12pro
      I will buy a 9pro .
      And it's after I spoke with tec and sale team at raymarine Australia.
      I got the wrong information from gr.woson that 9pro is 1300nits and 12pro is 1500nits and 12plus its on 1800nits.
      That's why I bought 12pro. Very disappointing and Distrust.
      I already networks them and sync them brightness together
      No benefits.
      at Max or low brightness the 9pro is brighter.
      The only way to match is not sync them ,and lowering the 9pro by 10%.
      But why I do that making two bad screens.
      Or only one?
      Thanks anyway. 😊

    Do the in hull CPT-S transducers only do depth …looking to buy this one: A80691 but it says depth only.

    • @Raymarine
      @Raymarine  Год назад

      Hello Andy. The CPT-S transducers only have the high CHIRP 170-230 kHz channel in them. We market them primarily as a low-cost solution for people needing a water depth sensor, but the fact is that they will see fish, and they will drive the Fishfinder application in Axiom. The picture it returns is the very traditional, down-looking 2D sonar. You'll see the bottom trace and fish in the water column. Its maximum rated depth is about 900 feet in optimal conditions. The CPT-S transducers don't support the high definition DownVision, SideVision or 3D functions.

      @@Raymarine Appreciate the quick reply. Im redoing my dash and want to remove the old puck style depth sounder and utilize my A68 Chirp/downvision plotter but only want an in hull solution. Would the P79 in-hull transducer work for the A68 or should I go with the CPT-S transducer..? Require depth but structure and leveraging the sonars capabilities is what I'm trying to accomplish capabilities.

    I purchased the Axiom with Navionics because of the auto-rout my Garmin was 10 years old. I am so disappointed that the front screen does not show the total trip ETA, the randomly placed waypoint ETA has no value, not even the time of day, compared to my Garmin this seems to have brought me back 20 years. Also I am in buzzards bay where the direction of the current plays a very important role, the Garmin displayed this this information live but not on the Axiom.... I will install the Axiom down below and bring the Garmin back to the wheel.

      Thanks for the comment. Total trip ETA as a databox item is something on our list to get into a future update.
      Current can be displayed on your Axiom's chart. Touch Menu...Layers...Tides. In Raymarine-speak "Tides" covers both tidal height as well as tide-generated currents. You should get tidal arrows at key locations on your chart.
      You definitely have some serious tidal flow there. I spent some time at the "Cape Cod College of Nautical Knowledge" back in the 1990's, right there on Taylor's Point. If you have trouble finding the tides, please feel free to email me at james.mcgowan@Raymarine.com.

    • @Raymarine

      Yes. There is a GPS/GNSS receiver built into Axiom 2 Pro. The antenna is behind the glass, just behind the "R" logo. It also has a connection on the rear that supports an external GPS antenna for installations where the GPS reception might be blocked.

    • @Raymarine
      @Raymarine  Год назад

      Hello Glen. Waypoint auto-advance is part of the new LightHouse 4.4.70 release, which came out just yesterday. The download contains updates for all Axiom models, as well as mandatory updates for autopilot contollers, keypads, EV1/EV2 pilot sensor cores, and the STNG alarm module. These additional updates are all required to support this new automatic turning functionality.
      Once you have updated your system and autopilot, on your Axiom go to Home...Settings...Autopilot. There you will see new options to enable and configure Automatic Turning.

      Hello Richard. Thanks for watching. I'll ask our product team to reach out to Oceanvolt. I see on their website they are also a member of the National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA) so it's likely that some of their hardware supports the NMEA2000 data protocol. There are likely some sentences related to motor RPMs, voltage levels, charging, etc. that we already support and can display in our dashboard app.

    I have a raymaine axiom pro 12 running lighthouse 4. I am using Navionics for my charts. I started to notice that the data displayed on the charts was incorrect. I soon discovered that the charts were displaying info for 01/01/2010. but the time was correct. I contacted Navionics and they suggested to do a factory reset of the Axiom chart plotter. I did, and the issue was resolved, the charts had the correct date and time. However,the next time I went to use the chart plotter the charts had reverted back to 01/01/2010. Does anyone know how to resolve this issue?

    • @Raymarine
      @Raymarine  Год назад

      Axiom uses the date and time provided by the GPS/GNSS receiver. Axiom can use its own built-in GPS receiver, or it can receive time, date and position from an external GPS sensor attached to the SeaTalk NG or NMEA 2000 network.
      The date and time are not updated until the GPS receives a position fix. If the date and time are significantly off, I'd expect that you would not have a position fix either. You can see the fix status, as well as the date and time, but touching on the latitude/longitude indicator on the upper left corner of Axiom's home page and selecting Satellites. If your Axiom is struggling to get a position fix you should first make sure you are up-to-date on system software updates. Also consider where Axiom is positioned on your boat. Its internal GPS is roughly behind the logo on the top center of the glass. It needs to have a clear view of the sky to reliably receive a fix. If there are significant obstructions, consider using the optional GA-150 or GA-200 accessory antenna to boost the reception to your Axiom Pro's internal GPS.
      Where your system keeps reverting to 1/1/2010, it raises the question of whether you have an older, external GPS antenna in the network? Many older GPS receivers are subject to a phenomena called Date Rollover, which cause their date and time to reset back to an earlier time, while the fix position remains valid. This has to do with a software limitation related to how the GPS satellites transmit the time. There are older GPS receivers from Raymarine and other manufacturers that are subject to this.
      The only resolution is to update the GPS receiver with a newer one. We have some information available on it here: raymarine.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5977
      Again, your Axiom's built-in GPS/GNSS receiver is not subject to rollover. This would only be a possibility if your Axiom is receiving its fix from an external or networked GPS receiver that is older and subject to rollover. That linked article has a list of impacted Raymarine products.
      If neither of these solutions seems to help, please send me an email with the details of your system and your contact info so I can have a technician reach out. You can get me at james.mcgowan@raymarine.com.

    Any suggestions why the Raymarine app is not connecting?

    • @Raymarine
      @Raymarine  Год назад

      Hello Johan. The new Raymarine app has some data synchronization capabilities that do require you to allow some permissions on your Axiom display. The first time you connect it you'll see a prompt on Axiom that needs to be acknowledged. I suspect that has not happened, or the message was accidentally dismissed. On Axiom go to Home...Settings...This Display...and scroll down to the Wi-Fi sharing section. Make sure it is enabled, and under the Mobile App Access make sure you have either View Only or Remote Control selected.
      Link your Raymarine app to Axiom's Wi-Fi access point. When you connect you should get a prompt on Axiom confirming the request to connect. Acknowledge it and your app should connect to the display.

    Hi Jim, I want to update my axioms from 4 to 4.4.87 but since doing it last a year ago and after updating my Mac OS RM seem to have stopped supporting 25% of its customers as the files downloaded are not .iso files as normal. Any idea whats going on?? TIA Lee

    • @Raymarine
      @Raymarine  Год назад

      Hello Lee. Our software downloads are compressed ZIP files. We bundle them that way because there are often multiple files inside that need to remain together. Once you download the Zip file, simple double-click it on your Mac to decompress it. By default Macs unpack the zip files to the same folder the original ZIP file is saved in. Once you unpack it you can delete the original ZIP file. You'll then move the contents over to the root (top level) directory of your microSD card. This article might be helpful for understanding better how to work with ZIP files on a Mac:
      support.apple.com/guide/mac-help/zip-and-unzip-files-and-folders-on-mac-mchlp2528/mac

      @@Raymarine Thanx for your reply. Since asking the question I realized that my web browser was in fact automatically un packing the zip file to a single .iso file, something it had not done in the past. Previous up dates have been multiple iso files so only being a single file confused me! I double clicked the file and this resulted in a CDROM file!!
