    Great video and Best 1 Yet!!! Watched it a day late. With my set-up trying to find Hard Bottom, i have a M265LM to an Axiom Pro RVX & a CP570 to a R109LH.
    Which frequency and ducer would work best.
    Thanks and keep them coming.

    • @RaymarineInc
      @RaymarineInc  2 месяца назад +1

      You have a great setup. Both of your transducers are very capable. The R109 transducer connected to the CP570 is probably going to be the most capable for finding and identifying the hard bottom due to its very high sensitivity and resolution. The high frequency channel on is rated to 1500-feet, and the low frequency to 6,000 feet.

    • @vitoproplumber
      @vitoproplumber 2 месяца назад +1

      great. Thanks for the fast reply. Do you think the R109 Low Or High would be better? Or it does not matter?
      Thanks.

    • @RaymarineInc
      @RaymarineInc  2 месяца назад +1

      The R109 high will show more detail overall, as long as the depth doesn't exceed 1500 feet. If you're fishing deeper, then use the low frequency channel.

    Ciao, I'm using Raymarine hardware and 2 Axiom Plotters (connected via Starlink).
    Is there any possibility (without extra hardware) to share the shiptrack & location on a internet-webpage?

    • @RaymarineInc
      @RaymarineInc  2 месяца назад +1

      Axiom doesn't have a way of broadcasting position reports to an external website, though it is an interesting idea. I'll make the suggestion to our product team. In the mean time, you might need to use an external app of some kind to do this. There are apps available for both Apple and Android devices that can share a position report at a regular interval. Where you already have the Starlink onboard for internet access, I think getting the position report working would be fairly easy to do.

    I have a Raymarine Element 9HV System and I'm still trying to fine tune it for inshore saltwater here in Georgia. Should I set it all manually or run it in auto?

    • @RaymarineInc
      @RaymarineInc  Месяц назад +1

      Automatic mode will try to choose the best settings for the conditions present, however, you should not be afraid to run in manual mode either. As a starting point, I suggest turning off the automatic range mode. Set the fishfinder display to a depth that is more than the water depth where you are fishing and leave it there. Manually change the range to suit only if needed. The reason I suggest trying this is when left in automatic range, the fishfinder will change the overall view on the screen even for relatively minor changes in the depth. When it refreshes on a range change, it will also do some re-tuning of the entire screen, which can sometimes make it difficult to compare readings over time. By turning off the automatic range control, you'll get a more consistent picture overall. If the depth suddenly changes dramatically, simply click the range up or down as needed to bring the bottom back into view.
      Element also uses the notion of "Automatic +/-" rather than a pure manual adjustment of things like gain, sensitivity and intensity. Its auto functions keep running in the background to maintain an acceptable baseline presentation, and you can add a touch of manual tweaking over and above the automated selections. Worst case, we offer the "All to Auto" button which puts Element back in full control.

    In the down vision and side vision screens, there is a 0.0 displayed at the top of the screen. Is that just reporting the surface, but showing to the left of the settings bars??

    • @RaymarineInc
      @RaymarineInc  2 месяца назад +1

      That O.O represents the surface, or measuring point of the transducer. Where that number really comes into play is when you turn on the fish finder's Zoom mode to magnify a portion of the water column. You'll see that number change to represent the shallowest depth being shown on the display. For example, if the water is 100-feet deep, you'll have 0.0 at the surface and 100 at the bottom. Turn on the Zoom mode at 2X magnification. Now, depending on where you drag the magnifier control, the display will show you either 0.0 to 50 feet (the upper half of the water column), or 50 to 100 (the lower half of the water column. Hopefully this explains what is going on with it.

    Hi Jim
    I have two Axiom pro, 1 Axiom plus, a flir camera, a Quantum radar and a lot of i70S 0:04 .
    My Axiom pro 9S is the master and the two others mfd are slave by ethernet (HS5 sea talk)
    It was running well… but after the last softwares update the two slave mfd lag and freeze regulary
    Could you help me?

    • @RaymarineInc
      @RaymarineInc  Месяц назад

      Thanks for watching the show and commenting. Where this has happened after a software update, I suspect there might be some data in Axiom's memory cache left over from the update that is slowing things down.
      First, backup your waypoints, tracks and settings. You can do this by going to Home..My Data...Import/Export...Save My Data and then using the options in there to create backup files on your SD card. You'll be able to restore this information afterwards using those files.
      Next I would try a factory reset. Initiate it from your Master display and it will reset all of them. Go to Home...Settings...This Display....and scroll to the bottom of the window. Factory Reset will be at the bottom. Touch it, and then confirm with a Yes.
      Once your Axioms reboot, you can restore your information by going back to Home...My Data...Import/Export...Import from card. Touch each of the files you backed up previously and Axiom will restore them. When you restore the settings file, it will need to reboot. I'd save that one for last.
      Hopefully that should get everything working quickly again.

      Tap the power button on your Axiom, and then touch the button to Enable Pings. That should make the message go away in simulation mode.

    • @RaymarineInc
      @RaymarineInc  2 месяца назад +1

      In simulation mode Axiom won't turn on the live transducers, and Axiom remains disconnected from all other live sensors like sonars, GPS, instrument data etc. The only live feeds that come through in simulation mode are cameras, if you have any. The sonar pings on/off control, when in simulation mode, is just turning the simulated sonar feed on and off.

    • @rayzar6720
      @rayzar6720 2 месяца назад

      Ah ok that makes sense. Thought that enable pings in simulation mode was turning transducers on but actually it's not. Thankyou.

    Are you on the Raymarine element and there’s so much to learn it seems overwhelming is there a users manual that I can keep with me on the boat either electronically or in paper form?
    And my next question which would be the videos you recommend that I watch specifically on the element to increase my learning curve?

    • @RaymarineInc
      @RaymarineInc  2 месяца назад

      We streamed an episode "Everything Element" a few years ago that you might find helpful. You can watch it online here on RUclips: ruclips.net/video/MgjZ-SdSO6w/видео.html
      We do offer an electronic owners manual for Element. You can download a copy from Raymarine.com here:
      raymarine.app.box.com/s/rvhycb6x1brzo64921k5tsqwv2ica3j6/folder/63122899586
      I recommend pulling down the Advanced Operating Instructions. It covers all of the features and functions in-depth. There is also a condensed basic operating guide available there too.

    Thanks for bringing us more knowledge. As 7 year Axiom user, may I request a change to the way the depth is indicated on the sonar screen. It's SUPER FRUSTRATING when I'm staring at the bottom for life and I can't see the initial sonar marks because the DEPTH reading is in the way. Is there a way to offset this so it's not blocking the lower right hand edge of the screen?

    • @fishingfiend
      @fishingfiend 2 месяца назад

      An example of this is at 24:13 in this video. It doesn't happen all the time, but when I need to see the bottom I tend to run into this issue.

    • @RaymarineInc
      @RaymarineInc  2 месяца назад +1

      Thanks for watching and for bringing this issue up. We had some similar feed back about the fish finder's depth scale obscuring new targets on the bottom and we made an adjustment to the way the scale is rendered. The image we showed at 24:13 was from a system with older software that did not have that change implemented.
      If you update your Axiom to the latest version, you should get that on your system too. Now, the depth scale running down the right edge of the display is offset so the bottom-most depth value for the scale sits at the extreme bottom of the window (below the ocean bottom) instead of right at the level of the ocean bottom.

    How is the forward scan developing? When I asked that on Facebook you guy's told me you're developing something even better?

    • @RaymarineInc
      @RaymarineInc  2 месяца назад +1

      Currently we do not have forward scan of our own. We do have a partnership though with EchoPilot that allows their forward-looking FLS-3D sonar to integrate with Axiom is a very seamless manner. You can see more about it here:

      Hello Ryan. You might benefit from running the split-zoom mode on your system. This will enable you to use half of the sonar screen to magnify the bottom, making the tails more pronounced. Simply pinch your display with your fingers to enable the zoom. You can adjust up or down to bring the section of the bottom into view.
