He was a genuine world class striker when firing on all pistons. But an even better human being.

You can feel the love he had for Bradley coming through the TV screen and looking at him made me cry and gave me hope for the future of humanity , because love that is this powerful and men like Jermain shows me that we are going to be alright and God is close. Little Bradley was always a joy to see running about in the red and white colours of Sunderland afc. His gorgeous big smile always lit up the hearts of people around him and at the Stadium of Light where he will be massively missed. My heart goes out to his Mam and Dad and extended family and all who knew him and loved him.Jermain we miss you at the Stadium of Light since you left the light has got a little dimmer but Thankyou from a life long Sunderland supporter for the memories and that champion strike, the best goal ever scored against the mags. Jermain and Bradley everyone in Sunderland and County Durham loves you both and we salute you both.

It’s crazy, Defoe has turned himself from a guy who’s I thought went to the MLS because all he cared about was money, into a whole hearted hero. The fact the he put so much effort in to try and ease the insurmountable pain of this poor child in the last few months of his life, it’s really shows how amazing of a man he is. He deserves a knighthood.
To be fair, even a lot of the players who go for the money, you have to consider that they have wives/husbands and their children to pay for and provide for. Family always comes first before the beautiful game.
