Good review. Just bought one after seeing your video and I agree, it's a fantastic deal!
Thank you
Very nice and thorough review.
Wow! Thanks for this very informative instructional review! I now know much better on how to use these!
No problem and thank you for the kind words
Pretty wild stumbling into this video. About 17 years ago you worked on my 2002 WRX back when you had a shop in Moorpark. I think you installed my downpipe. Glad to see your still around man.
That was a while back. Cant say i remember the car. But very cool you found me.
It says on the side 5 Lids - 125 Micron Filter
And they are both made in China. Like everything
I just picked these up yesterday. So much cheaper than 3m.
The magic cup trick is amazing. I couldn't work out how you did it.
Magic cup?
@@rmjmotoring Yes, after a while, I couldn't work out which is which.
Really THOROUGH comparison. 👍🏼
I only have used the HF system. Problem I’m having is: once Liner is completely collapsed, and no more material is spraying from gun, when I disassemble for (gun) cleaning, there is still A Lot of material left in the Liner.
Is that “normal” ? When I say A Lot, I mean a few ounces; but, over time, that’s quite a bit of material waste. What am I missing ?
Those products are more gimic than anything. Makes cleaning more convenient in exchange for wasted paint. Even the true coat airless paint guns cup bags waste material.
@@randyanderson6110 tend to agree. Generally, paint products are Much more $$$s to waste than Solvent. The one thing that I do really appreciate about them is the ability to spray at any angle (i.e. inverted).
Just the nature of the beast. There's a few tricks to waste less paint with these;
If you won't be spraying with gun inverted, you can leave atleast 10% air or so in cup, this will allow most of the paint to be used like a traditional cup.
If you do spray inverted, you can disconnect air and pull trigger while gun is inverted to draw some air back into cup after material starts sputtering. This is also how you avoid a mess when swapping cups.
I imagine these are pretty similar to the chinese set i bought on Ebay. Like 3m 1.0. I'm fine with them at the price point.
Correct. Have not tried those. But imagine they work the same.
Wouldn't it just make sense to use a regular aluminum cup for the surfaces that can be sprayed normally and then use the pps system for the overhead areas ?
Either one would work. I like pps cups for the ease of cleaning too
@@rmjmotoring I need to get into the habit of cleaning my guns. I just run acetone through them
I'm new my question is why so many caps what is the deal with that thank you
You need to use a new lid for every cup. It is not wise to reuse the lid. Each lid has a filter. So even though you are using the same color, you do not want to take a chance and contaminate the new cup of paint with something the previous lid filter may have picked up
HF website says 125 micron
Where do you get the sleeve for the 3m pps cup?
Did your gun take the male or female adapter
Male adaptor. I have had it for years
Soo close
Dang! so close yet so far for the raffle... lol
So is this new paint system for the classic for your wife?
Yep at some point lol
RJM which size is this paint cup? I am thinking 22 oz or 28 oz Good video Thanks!
22oz

Thank you very much!
