    I've had the 3M PPS for a while now and never thought of 'pinching the plastic liner through the cutout' technique. Thanx for the video ... Great stuff! Subbed! ^v^

    Any video or site to explain the mix ratio markings and how they work. I haven't painted in 20 plus years. I just used mixing cups back then. New to me!
    I'm also painting a car with Duracryl lacquer metallic. Is the lacquer OK in these plastic liners? I don't plan on storing paint in the cups but might have two cups ready when I start the painting.
    Thanks for the video!

    So with : the New 2.0 system the cup liner does not collapse as the material is used up, and you can easily see how much paint remains in the liner? Correct? Can you still paint upside down ? Thanks for your time! Great video 👍

    what if you have a accuspray with the removable nozzle, do the nozzles interchange betwween original pps & pps 2.0 guns? to convert to 2.0 without buying a new gun, each of nozzles have the adaptor built in .

    I've got a lot of gen 1 lids and liners left over. And now have a gen 2 gun gen 1 gun is no longer working. Is there any way to use gen 1 system lids and liners with the gen 2 gun?

    On the 200ml hard cup I do not see the mixing ratio mark. Is it being removed or just no ratio mark on 200ml only?

    How long can I store material in the container upside down (with enough keeping the filter wet)? Sometimes I have short/quick sprays.. but don't want to waste a full cup/filter.. and would love to be able to fill one up with say latex paint in one can, and some Polycrilic in another container.. and just swap cans when needed.. store them for some time until needed again.

      The material should keep longer in the PPS cup than it would in the can because you can squeeze almost all the air out of the PPS cup before sealing it. Should work fine for latex + polycrylic, but I have had a cup storing solvent based lacquer melt when I stored it for too long (only once though!).

    What the different between pps and pms system?

  • @nealnaz

    Are the gun adapters specific to either a PPS Original or a PPS 2.0 cup and cap? Are the adapters able to work on both Original and PPS 2.0? I have an original adapter that the packaging specifically states it is for the Original PPS on one gun (Black Widow HVLP 1.7mm (by Spectrum for Harbor Freight), and a new adapter (is on its way) for a clear coat gun (Anest Awata Kiwami4-13BA4 1.3mm) which the packaging specifically states it is for the PPS 2.0 system. Do both The Original and new 2.0 generation PPS cup fittings work with on any PPS gun adapter? Or, are the adapters specific to one version of the PPS?

      Did you ever figure this out? I just bought the black widow

      @@thephishh Yes. The PPS is older tech and works seemlessly with the Harbor Freight cups and lids. The PPS 2.0 requires PPS 2.0 Cups. The Original PPS is more flat at the connection with the cup, and side by side the two look different and are not interchangeable, and easy to tell one from the other. My PPS adapter was purchased from Harbor Freight. The PPS style adapters are readily available in the aftermarket. PPS 2.0 are still proprietary (probably still copyright protected) and the ones I looked at, were double the cost of the Harbor Freight version, and other Original PPS ones. The 3M rep I spoke with, had advised that in the long run, the PPS2.0 is meant to be easier to use and are more affordable. For my purposes, and just being a hobbyist, I saw no reason to purchase the PPS 2.0 I also purchased different volume PPS cups and lids (less than the 600mm size that Harbor Freight carries - for use on my smaller jobs) and those measuring cups came from aliexpress and I found them to be more affordable from there than other places I had found. Hope that helps you. Happy Holidays. Regards.

      @Neal Nazinitsky I'm just going to be using to repaint my equipment like mini skid steer, bucket truck chip boxes and things like that not anything like cars and fine detail work. Would you recommend the hvlp or the hte for that application? It's still new in box so could still swap if needed. I might do the cabs here and there when I buy used trucks but it's still not gonna be a show truck but for clear it sounds like the fine tip is the way to go. I don't want to spend a fortune on stuff for occasional use.

      @@thephishh, DISCLAIMER: I am less than a novice at painting or on these two guns. All the research and the youtubers I watched and had also reviewed the two Black Widow guns, allowed me to select the Black Widow HVLP as my intended purpose is for use as primer gun, because it has the 1.7mm cap and nozzle. Others talked negatively about both because they felt for similar cost there were better quality guns. Most do not seem to recommend either, but for what you described, would be more than adequate. However, I chose that for Base and Clearcoat I wanted the other model and brand of gun that was recommeded, which also has a 1.3mm Tip and Nozzle - is the Anest Iwata Kiwami4. Some of the same youtubers who reviewed the Kiwami4, and talked very positively about it, also mentioned the Anest Iwata Air Gunsa model as an all around affordable gun, because that model either comes with or have several tips and nozzles available so the same gun can be changed out to accommodate 1.3 and 1.7mm, (and I think a 3rd size was also 1.5mm cap and nozzle, but I could be mistaken) without buying separate guns for each, depending upon the intended application, to make it more versatile.

      @thephishh Год назад +1

      @Neal Nazinitsky thank you very much. That's what seems dumb is that literally if they gave you the option to swap the tips and such it would be a much more versatile unit. My needs are very basic and so that seems like the better way to go realistically. I think I'll send her back home and take a look into that unit you suggested. Thank you for taking the time out of your day.

    2.0 if I take the lid off it disconnects from the liner, the liner sticks in the cup. What’s wrong with that picture? That’s 150 bucks of sucks.
