It makes me so sad and upset that this kid wasn’t more appreciated. I’ve been listening to his album nonstop and dabbling in some of his older stuff and cannot believe the talent, the incorporation of instruments and the truth behind his lyrics. Like, damn, we lost a real one.
I second that I listen to the LP Swim pure Genius he better live than on the album. I get very frustrated My friend says there's no good music out the older Generations need to listen to these artists they are truly gifted
So true, he truly was on another level. Meaningful music that you can feel and relate to. A nice change from the repetitive, brainless music of today. He mastered his craft. This was just the beginning so heartbreaking to think this is the last album.
Well then...you got a friend in Maryland! I just discovered Mac a week ago. I am 65 years young and his music has me either dancing all over my family room or hard-bobbing my head. The WORLD lost a treasure. Mac Miller AHTL (ALL HAIL THE LEGEND) WE MUST MAKE SURE EVERYONE IS HIP TO HIS ARTISTY. Most dope EVER.
This🙌🏻 One thing I love the most that just touches my heart in a way I can’t even describe…is EVERY video of Mac…the comment section is FULL of love, friends, young and old, who all feel this indescribable feeling of loss over his passing…even the people who didn’t start listening to him til after his passing. It’s like, you can go to ANY videos comment section and find FRIENDS. Who feel the same way you do…that people who didn’t listen to Mac, will NEVER understand. It’s like one big support group!😂 But seriously…we all have this mutual understanding…feelings that go without saying even. He would fucking LOVE that about all of us fans🙏🏻

Only recently been introduced to Mac Miller by my daughter and at 61 years old I absolutely love the guy! I found my groove again and I have this young man's music to thank for it. So sad he isn't still around to add to his catalogue of music but one thing is for sure he's already a legend in my eyes.
Grammy's should be about beautiful artistic creativity, not a popularity contest. Mac put his heart into this, he wasn't just sent beats to rap over, he created something beautiful here and I am heartbroken Mac didn't win the Grammy for this amazing album. RIP, still listening
Say what you want, but if he didn’t die he wouldn’t even been nominated. I’m not saying anything bad on his part but that’s fucked for the Grammys to do it like that
The way he steps back and admires HIS work. He made himself proud by making an album for himself and you can see how much it means too him when he watches tha band in this performance and also in the Tiny Desk when he’s clearly immersed in the sound of his songs while he performs them.
I always noticed that about him in the Tiny Desk, and admired the fuck out of it. This is someone who loved music sooo much,, every instrument he learned to play himself and truly loved the live bands. It's really rare to see such passion in artists with their work now. He legittt got lost in the music and at that exact moment.. nothing, absolutely nothing, mattered. Legend that deserved much more than the cards he was dealt... soooo happy he lives on forever through the one thing he truly loved. Im sure hes so proud looking down on how many souls he has and continues to save. ♡♡ testy easy mac
Dylan Neff I work with a lot of Mexicans, and have since learned to celebrate death instead of mourn it. It’s really uplifting. I listen to most Mac songs the way he’d want us to; with a smile.
Amazing how he made so many people feel like a friend without knowing him. That's just how genuine of a dude he was, and his music was a direct reflection of that. You'll always be the Most Dope in our hearts, Mac, and we miss you. Rest in Peace brother.
What really speaks about the type of person/musician Mac was is when he stops singing, he just watches the band do their thing, jamming out to it and appreciating their talent too (3:14 and onward). What a great guy. Wish I could have gotten to know him personally.
Fr most ppl who met him on tge streets in public wanted a verse or an autograph or for him to follow them on ig. The only thing id have asked for is to hang out. He was good people vs most, and vs most celebrities. I hope his fams alright
This is probably my 50th time watching this. It makes me feel so good. Having a bad day? Just turn this on, and instantly feel better-it's cathartic. RIP Mac we truly lost an amazing person. Too good for this world I guess. His last album says it all.
Man I totally get now why when my two 20 year olds called me that day!! I really never listened too much to his music, but i knew what he meant to my kids, especially my oldest daughter. Since the 5th grade that's all she could or would talk about was Mac Miller!! She met him twice and cried happy!! Since Sept 7th he remains up on her phone screen. And she doesn't like to talk about him, she cries. I've listened to every album of his now for over a month and I now get it!! Such a beautiful musician who loved his music!! This album was one of my favorites!! I've played this song and video so many times I lost count!! As well as "My Favorite Part" with Ariana Grande. You could so see how much he loved that girl 😥 such a beautiful soul!!! Well I hope he can rest now, but his music will live on forever!!! R. I. P. Malcolm ♥️🌼
Thank god for the internet, that this mans beauty, soul and art can live forever. We lost a legend in Mac, a troubled lost soul constantly battling with depression and drug abuse, but so passionate so expressive and artistic. Let Mac be an example, no matter how hard life is, you are loved and needed. Don't let those that need and love you down, stay alive, stay well. RIP, you beautiful man.
oh yes!! cant stopp listening to the last 20 seconds of the song! wish they would keep on playing. are these players (sax, trumpet) always jamming together as band "stay human"??

Rest in peace buddy.
Yeah, such a shame. I think this is a common thing for people that were big into the hard drugs and then get off of it then relapse. That relapse is hard core. Something about the dramatic swing I guess? He really did look and above all sound happy and over it all just before it. :( :(
he died on a satanic sacrifice day (sep 7) and his house was being cleaned when police arrived. they didn't find what he supposedly overdosed on. he was murdered.
@@mattstevens7601 I can't find any concrete reason to believe he was murdered for a satanic sacrifice based on a calendar date and the circumstances. The world misses Mac so much. The versatility that this man had and the talent he showed us. We lost a legend at the peak of his career. He was about to change the world once again with his sound and talent. Mac Miller will live on forever. #LongLiveMacMiller
I'm kicking myself for never seeing Mac live. He was so young and spirited that I thought I would always have time to do it. I always figured I could just got to the next show in my area, that I could just "do it later"...
I'm ashamed to say that I never would have even clicked on this had he not been dead. I watch most Late Show clips, but I always dismissed him and I skipped over this when it was posted. But, I was pleasantly surprised. He definitely had talent and definitely knew his way around a rhythm. You can feel that he is giving his absolute all here, and everyone around him feels it too. I am sorry for not giving him credit while he was still alive.
Maybe it's a reminder that we should check out recent artists and truly give them a try before judging. I was pretty much in a similar boat as yours, simply because I didn't care to check new stuff out lately.
Exactly how it was for me back in 2013. A random song of his came on on RUclips and I turned it off. Granted I was 11 at the time and wasn't into rap as much. When Swimming dropped I planned on listening to it because the cover liked cool yet simple. I never got around to it though. Then the day came when he's passed, I found out and decided to listen to it. And to my surprise is was beautiful. I don't know why but before I listened to the album I felt such sadness. So much I wanted to cry. Keep in mind I only heard 1 song by him fully, the song "Dang!" And skipped one song in 2013. Anyway, after finishing "Swimming" I downloaded 2 more albums, "GO:OD AM" and "The Divine Feminine". Now he's become one of my favorite rappers, and artist in general. I'm SUPER ashamed of my unwillingness to listen to more of his music.
Same dude, I feel you. I mean there were a few songs of his that I bumped back in the day, but I never realized he was this good of a lyricist and he was just hitting his prime, he was only getting better with time. He went from party music and matured into a true artist. Swimming is one of the better albums I've heard this year, if not the best. Don't know what ya got till it's gone I suppose.
That is EXACTLY why I play music. That energy, that joy right there. OMG. The gift that Mac Miller gave to each and every musician on that stage that night. And what they gave back to him? Those smiles from Batiste? I just hope he felt the love.
He seemed so alive and energetic. He looks really healthy here too. That old 'tomorrow is promised to no one' cliche is so true. R.I.P to an absolute legend.
The quiet raspy “Thank you” followed by his little bow to Jon at the end got me.♥️ Some of the members of the band couldn’t help but smile after seeing that.
Damn. This performance is gold. I can't believe he's gone. I got into him when I got a copy of 'The Divine Feminine.' Such a great album. And then he releases this! So beautiful. I gotta admit, when I see these vids of Mac, I start to tear up. He was such a great talent and he was being true to himself in his art. Rest in power, Mac.
Still one of my very favorite performances ever. I come back every once in a while because it makes me so happy with those horns, backup singers, and Mac totally feeling the entire song.
Like an orchestrator. Focused on his craft, but always setting the vibe, and giving praise to the band while they're killin' it! Mac was a true master.
I’m pissed that it takes for the man to pass for my old ass to become aware of who he is. Obviously immensely talented and it sucks when these people leave too soon.
Same here, I discovered hin almost by accident, only to hear a few weeks after that he passed. I first thought WTF, impossible, but yeah it was in the news. Watching some of the videos from early on, and even later in his life, he was special, far more so then most famous people, so sad people like him leave thus earth too early.
JP Conklin he had so much talent ! God and Jesus are real! Don't ever let any one fool you their not. The human body is way too complex to not have a designer
not being an ass here...but mac was my boy before his passing. I was aware of his music 24/7 and I felt every word. I miss the Kid and I hope everyone misses him as much as I do and forever will. You'll always be the Kid, Mac
for those of you who still doubt. Swimming truly is the best musical album to come out this year. and this was after a lot of self debate, revisiting and thought. its the definition of music as an ART. a majority of the lyrics except for certain hooks were freestyled just like they have been from the beginning. he did the full production even wrote the sheet music. and the entire album relates to itself entirely. not to mention. no features. it truly is a great musical feat. more than can be said by any albums released this year.
Bro, are you serious? KOD was trash compared to swimming. Redemption - Jay Rock, Astroworld - Travis Scott, Freddie - Freddie Gibbs just to name a few were all far superior to KOD.
I watched this live, just weeks before he passed. This video used to be so depressing to watch but time does heal all wounds. I'm glad I can enjoy beautiful song now.
What a great band! That horn section is awesome and bass player is wow!! the girl in the guitar is magnificent!! and that guy on piano uff! The song is great and Mac a great composer and singer! what else?
I went from being a Mac Miller hater to a Mac Miller fan. He has matured and grown musically. His music is diverse and fresh. Keep doing your thing Mac!
Yeah your right I had no idea who he was , I mainly listen to and make my own dubstep riddim music and after hearing he passed away and everything I decided to spend some time on RUclips and whoa the talent behind this guy is amazing and I'm going to be listening to him alot more , this guy can make music if I ever heard any
@@deadflexxx What's most sad about this is he was always artistically evolving. Every of his albums sound differently and unfortunately we won't get to see his next evolution :( Rest in Peace Mac Miller
I could see us losing him right before our eyes. The only time he seems truly happy is watching/listening to the musicians play the instruments. He seemed to love music more than performing it at this exact performance, also the Dang performance. It makes me cry. I wish he wasn't dealt his demons. He deserved nothing less than pure bliss;; and maybe that's exactly what he has now. I miss you so much Malcolm.
@@ashhmariie I think he was happy, or atleast the happiest he had been in a long while. He was very excited to go on the swimming tour, and was also very excited to have the album be released. It's amazing how he sets a rhythm with his voice and vocals, to the point where the jazz musicians are boppin' in time with him before any percussion enters the song. this is an amazing performance. Then he conducts the horns at the end. Amazing.

It makes me so sad and upset that this kid wasn’t more appreciated. I’ve been listening to his album nonstop and dabbling in some of his older stuff and cannot believe the talent, the incorporation of instruments and the truth behind his lyrics. Like, damn, we lost a real one.
Mac was really a 🎶 genius......u said a mouth full
I second that I listen to the LP Swim pure Genius he better live than on the album. I get very frustrated My friend says there's no good music out the older Generations need to listen to these artists they are truly gifted
glad u found that out. its true
So true, he truly was on another level. Meaningful music that you can feel and relate to. A nice change from the repetitive, brainless music of today. He mastered his craft. This was just the beginning so heartbreaking to think this is the last album.
Like a real, real one
Can we talk about how good of a live performance this was?
I'm in disbelief... R.I.P. Malcolm 💔
coconut head awesome performance...can’t believe he’s gone. R.I.P Mac 💔
I saw him early 2010 love, small bar; he was 18, got the entire crowd that didn’t know him bumping. He was original with classic sound.
This is a great live performance
Epesially son a talk show this is awesome RIP
It was so good, I would have definatly gone to a show.
Who ever loves Mac Miller! Will always be a friend to me...
@@BlueBella-ue4quomg I LOVE seeing comments like this on Mac’s videos!! Young or old, anyone, anywhere, despite their normal taste in music, whether or not they were a fan before he died, or didn’t discover him until after…he literally was THAT AMAZING of an artist, everyone falls in love with him! I love seeing comments like this. All us fans are like one big family☺️🙏🏻❤️
I feel unreal. This feels like a dream that he’s gone. Like it’s a crazy feeling. Out of all people I didn’t imagine him going so soon. So unreal man.

Only recently been introduced to Mac Miller by my daughter and at 61 years old I absolutely love the guy! I found my groove again and I have this young man's music to thank for it.
So sad he isn't still around to add to his catalogue of music but one thing is for sure he's already a legend in my eyes.
Same, also 61, his music is food for the soul
68 year old. Check out his collaboration with Anderson Pack. ❤🎉

Grammy's should be about beautiful artistic creativity, not a popularity contest.
Mac put his heart into this, he wasn't just sent beats to rap over, he created something beautiful here and I am heartbroken Mac didn't win the Grammy for this amazing album.
RIP, still listening
She was sent the damn lyrics as well. Snow tha product tell em.
Use me as the Mac got robbed at the Grammy's button
he got a grammy. in our hearts
Say what you want, but if he didn’t die he wouldn’t even been nominated. I’m not saying anything bad on his part but that’s fucked for the Grammys to do it like that

Exactly the right sentiment- can just see it on his face!
That trumpet went for it !!!
The way he steps back and admires HIS work. He made himself proud by making an album for himself and you can see how much it means too him when he watches tha band in this performance and also in the Tiny Desk when he’s clearly immersed in the sound of his songs while he performs them.
well said
I always noticed that about him in the Tiny Desk, and admired the fuck out of it.

What really speaks about the type of person/musician Mac was is when he stops singing, he just watches the band do their thing, jamming out to it and appreciating their talent too (3:14 and onward). What a great guy. Wish I could have gotten to know him personally.

Not saying you're wrong but that argument would need a lot of merit to disprove what is considered a potential overdose at this point... and it's hard to find any merit in a spiritual theory guided by calendars that Noone follows....

I'm kicking myself for never seeing Mac live. He was so young and spirited that I thought I would always have time to do it. I always figured I could just got to the next show in my area, that I could just "do it later"...
After being a fan since 2012 and missing him like 2-3 times here in Melbourne I FINALLY saw him September last year...so glad I did ):
Thank heroin for that.
@Kryptospotted He came a long way as an artist/singer/song writer/musician/producer. He really had an ear for music and made his own lane
dont be ashamed, just appreciate his music now that you know. the man is a legend.
This is so weird seeing him so alive and this was only a few weeks ago and now he's dead like this is too much I am so sad

He seemed so alive and energetic. He looks really healthy here too. That old 'tomorrow is promised to no one' cliche is so true. R.I.P to an absolute legend.
The quiet raspy “Thank you” followed by his little bow to Jon at the end got me.♥️
Some of the members of the band couldn’t help but smile after seeing that.
Rest in power, Mac.

for those of you who still doubt.
Line Rida ummmmmmmmm J. Cole.

It's amazing how he sets a rhythm with his voice and vocals, to the point where the jazz musicians are boppin' in time with him before any percussion enters the song. this is an amazing performance. Then he conducts the horns at the end. Amazing.
