Love the idea of affordable Grail. JLC reverso duoface for $8k if you want your pick $6k if you really search. Amazing heritage but takes a certain something to actually wear it and pull it off
My favorite Speedmaster is the 2018 Ultraman, subtle sweet little orange accent touches and the UV light radiance gimmik set it apart very well from the usual bunch. Have to like orange though.

A word on the authentication: on Rolex specifically one still needs to look out for service dials and movement condition as ebay don’t check this. They check if the movement is running and if the date switches and other functions if they were described as working, but if the movement needs a service and winds grittily, that will pass through the authentication nevertheless.

Glad to see you finally got that turn-o-graph after you mentioned it back in that video in 2018 - which I watched! I got my 1625 in a trade for my 3570.50 moonwatch a 3 years ago and never looked back. It has the classic stick hands but on a super rare taupe and sigma dial. I love that it is a date just but with a functioning ROTATING white gold bezel. How cool is that. I think its the best mix of sports and dressy. It’s usually on either a dark green Tropic or Bulang&sons Ripstop or distressed grey suede. Really anything goes. I’ve been on the hunt for a 7836 oyster bracelet as a sportier counterpoint to its original 62510H jubilee - and that is proving it to be a difficult find with the correct clasp code. Congrats. What a sexy, stylish watch. I have almost no interest in modern Rolex, not just because they're overpriced and unobtainable, but because most of their current designs lack any appeal to me. I'm a Cartier guy. Vintage Rolex, however, is a whole different story, especially ca. 1960 to 1980. I've toyed with the idea of getting a Turn-O-Graph myself, and seeing it on your wrist in all its borderline decadent glory makes it even more tempting.

Common and not to everyone’s taste but it’s the watch that got me into watches. It’s a big birthday year for me so I think this is the year! I love an iconic vintage inspired chrono. It will sit nicely alongside my speedy moonwatch.
My grail watch-to-be is not extremely expensive either, but it's not available for purchase where I'm from. It's The Twelve by Christopher Ward, 40mm in Lagoon Blue. Hopefully some day when I'm visiting the UK. Note: It's an absolute must for me to have a feel of the watch before I put down money on it, so international shipping is out of the question.

The Rolex Datejust Turn of Graph it is truly a very beautiful watch, which however must be seen and tried on the wrist in person, the video does not really enhance this model, in my opinion it looks better with its 80s style steel and gold bracelet.
There is no such thing as not being cool enough to wear Cartier. If it looks good then wear it. Especially the Santos which straddles formal and casual extremely well.
Looks so weird to see a watch bezel, especially the precursor to the submariner that doesn't have the safety feature preventing it from being turned clockwise.
Nice piece. Not my bag as I’m not a fan of gold watches but pretty all the same. And don’t worry about the acrylic glass. That’s what Polywatch was made for. Works a treat on my Speedy. Enjoy.

Unless you want to blindly trust their small shop authenticators who are "authenticating" everything under the sun from seiko, to Rolex, to Breitling, to nomos, etc. Easy for high end superclones 1:1 movements or Franken movements to slip through.

Looks like a weird mod on a vintage Datejust. Which it is in fact, but made by the manufacturer. Like racing rims, low profile tires and a front spoiler on a Renault 19. Another great marketing decision from the good people of Rolex, but not an attractive watch IMO
Does the ebay authentication void the manufacturers warranty. If ebay open the case back to substantiate the validity of the watch does this nullify the warranty

I saw my grail watch quite quickly after i got into watches around 3 years ago. I thought i would never be able to afford it. Now i bought the watch a couple weeks ago and it's absolutely stunning. It's the Omega Aqua Terra 38mm 2017 version with black dial. Don't want any other watch than this.
That's a great place to be in. I had that after I bought my Longines Spirit 37mm; coupled with my Sinn 356 Sa these are my only go-to watches in my small collection. Tried a few and quickly consolidated my tastes. No more splurging on watches!
One man’s grail is another’s …. i dont know, you fill it out. The point is, we all have different grails (sadly, plural!). Mine, sadly, I may never be able to buy, but I have bought a couple in the past few years that give me such joy!. So….i can’t stand Rolex, oh for so many reasons (and I confess to having one), BUT if a particular Rolex is your grail, who the heck am I to criticize? You might feel the same about my grails. If you love it and can afford it, buy it and cherish it.

Very cool grail! Thanks for sharing. I just picked up a 34mm 1995 Air King with some beautiful patina on its naturally silver dial giving it an interesting sunburst effect. It'll be my last watch I get for a while because it was a relatively big purchase for me. The Air King is also my birthyear watch which makes it all the more exciting. It has a engine turn bezel too which is pretty neat :) Awesome seeing you also get a vintage Rolex and uploading the video the day after I got mine. Enjoy and wear in great health Adrian!

“Speedmaster’s are so common, so I bought a Rolex” 👀 My 2022 Speedy Moon Watch, is probably the nicest and least common watch I own, at least in my group of friends. Went out a few nights ago and wore my Explorer and 2 other guys I was there with were wearing the same watch and the other a Sub. I don’t wear my Rolex’s anymore. They have become common and cheesy for me.
Do you want to know what I think? I find the Moonwatch Speedmaster totally boring. It wasn't until the "Dark Side Of The Moon" models that I found a few nice models.

145.022 speedmaster are very affordable for what they are and there seems to be an abundance of them, definitley tickles that vintage itch
