Thank you Snoopy to let us join you in this nice show from you the Westsail 1975 I like the hull but I think there is still a lot of work to do when you splash a boat like this Happy Holidays and thanks again
I told the Admiral, my red headed, Irish, Southern, Texan, rodeo barrel racing, sailboat sailor with a sailor mouth wife what you said and she laughed prettier hard 😂
Is this the Sundowner from the RUclips channel 4 years back? They did a major refit on all systems. He installed a giant access port in the cockpit, which I saw…they were from NOLA. Wow, wish I was in a position to use it as intended.
Very cool! I don’t know the whole story of why they sold the boat. What I do know is that they sold it and it ended up with another guy and then I sold it for him to another guy.
First thing would be to assess how many layers of old anti fouling are resting on the hull. Maybe it’s 15 years they don’t remove it. Would be punctured osmosis blisters, any sensible person would have put some filler on them as a second step, I think
Not a big issue on this boat. Very thick hull. Next time the antifoul gets scraped off about $25 worth of epoxy will sort them out. Then an epoxy undercoat before antifouling.
A westsail 32, Tar Baby 2 suffered a catastrophic mast failure in big seas and they had to abandon her after cutting away the mast and most of the rigging. They were rescued and before leaving the yacht they closed all sea cocks and locked her up. Not sure of the fate of the boat but the couple on board survived.
@@davetunbridge6637 they knowingly left the boat as a navigation hazard to others. Kindly look at the manner in which that deck-stepped mast attaches to the c9ach roof.
I knew a guy who circumnavigated on a Westsail from ~1998-2001. Hell of a boat.
They are a good blue water boat for sure

Yes, I believe so...it is this same exact boat: Prior owner video: ruclips.net/video/RctjMaIhvP4/видео.html&ab_channel=SundownerSailsAgain
Yes, the owners are friends and we visited them in the San Blas and stayed on this boat.

They are pretty solid boats for sure.
There are no stairs ot floors on boats.
Boats have ladders and decks
Did she sell? She was list 7 years ago for 39000
Yes, she sold a couple of years ago
Just a newb here, but what are all the divots in the hull, that you can see printing thru the bottom paint? Are those previous fiberglass blisters?
Honestly I have no idea…I just filmed the boat…it’s an older boat. Surveyor didn’t seem to think it was a big issue.
