Best boat tour ever. Very informative. It shows how smartly the boat was designed, obviously crafted by a marine architect who had a great deal of cruising experience.
Shannon didn't strike me as being in the least bit nervous. Quite the contrary; she seemed to be bursting with knowledge and confidence. If you're living on a boat, storage is the Numero Uno priority because you never seem to have enough of it - especially in a small cruiser. So much of the clobber you take for granted as a landlubber, and the places to stuff it, simply vanish on a boat. There's no shed, no lock-up, no basement, nor attic - no `out back'. It's either in your precious living space or lashed on deck. And even then, sailing demands that most of what you can carry is dedicated to the vessel, not to you. If you've accumulated a lot of good clothes, personal effects and mementos, and have several hobbies, as I have; many painful and ruthless decisions have to be made...I think the narration, filming, and emphases were absolutely spot-on.
I can't believe all the space she has! I really love that pullman berth and large aft cabin! Lots of boat in a relatively short craft. Your tour was great and your love of "Prism" was obvious.
❤so beautiful. This Hans-Christian 33 is my favorite boat and I hope one day to own one. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us. All the best.
Your tour is very detailed and specific, and I really appreciate it. The mundane is usually skipped all together, but having info like a medicine cabinet shortens the sleep area helps. You are an awesome presenter.Your boat looks like such a cozy and comfortable home, I'm envious. Keep up the videos and let us know how your travels go, and thank you!
I loved your boat tour!! I watch a ton of these in envy, but I see a lot. Yours is the most homey, warm and practical vessel I have ever seen! It looks very loved and enjoyed! Your tour was also the best I've seen, you missed nothing! I'm a carpenter/cabinet maker by trade, so naturally I was so taken with all the beautiful woodwork! It looks like the home of a large happy family! Seen many boats, much larger that look far smaller than yours and with fifty percent less storage. What a great designer/builder that built your boat! Nothing but 10's from me!! Happy Sailing!
I think the common archetypal "Sailboat" image that we all know from our shared collective unconscious looks just like this boat. Most beautiful boat on YT.
I love the layout of your boat. So efficient. The forward head instead of a V berth is brilliant. Based on the interior I’d never guess it to be only 33 feet. Excellent blue water boat too.
Splendid and awesome boat...wow!! Thanks for the in-depth tour of the boat. I'm deeply impressed with the exceedingly practical layout and the extent of storage without compromising the charm of this boat.
I am blown away! That is the "biggest" 33ft boat i have ever seen! I'm getting a Beneteau First 27ft boat in a few days, and this boat looks to be about twice the size. Now i know what im gonna save money up for next time! :D Thanks for a great tour, one of the best i have seen!
It was great meeting you this evening, John and Shannon! Loved hearing your awesome story and touring Prism (she's fantastic!). Enjoy your stay on Manhasset Bay and let me know if there's anything you need while you're here.
AWESOME presentation. I can now see why you love your boat so much. I never would have dreamed you have so much storage on a 33 ft boat. It is well planned and it reeks of quality. I really enjoy your vids. Thank you.
You really have a beautiful boat. Well arranged, well maintained, you can see that she is sailing and that you love her very much! Good wind and good navigation!
Only 3 days ago since i heard about a HC.. And it is my new favourite by far. Fantastick boat you guys got there : ) Yes and the tour, finally a good tour of a boat. Thanks for taking the time to go through it. Happy sails. Norway.
By Jove, that's a stunning boat! The shower and shitter is brilliant, and it's great to see a full-sized bed - death to all v-berths! I shall google Hans Christian 33s now. It has a very solid look to it, like a true ocean-going yacht. Thank you for the tour - very helpful!
I'm new to the channel. I was so impressed by Shannon's presentation of their home. From now on I am only going to watch boat tour's giving by a women. A man's tour usually goes like: this is my generator, these are my water tanks, here is the toilet, here is my electronics and here are my tools! Shannon's tour had the women's touch! Thank you so much for your time and effort, it was Awesome! ( i am an old male sea dog myself )
I'm a bit of a cynic about all these 'beautiful' young things and their yacht adventures, and started this video sceptical - but you won me over totally. Your knowledge, tone and enthusiasm were inspiring. So much so I'm probably going to buy a Hans Christian now, really. Well done!
Wow ... that was very well done young lady ... if i were new to sailing i would thoroughly watch this video for tips on storage and the like. Can't believe i have not seen this before.
Wow, that is so much more room than I thought, I like the size of the bathroom and shower area and all the food storage. Thank you, really enjoy watching your videos!
She's beautiful indeed. All that vanishing! I have a 33 myself from the mid 80s, and I only have half of that storage and not well distributed. Some will be addressed during the refit. Thanks for the boat tour! Awesome (1 of 1) lol. Fair winds.
bing.. one more awesome bell for you Shannon . Your walk thru intro to Prism was perfect to a T.. Happy to learn you like her 'bing' ... and I'm seeing the next entry notes your sail to PB.. Stillwater played hugely in my early years from good times to nearly drowning after being caught off shore in a Banshee I was learning to sail.. Thanks to one alert sailor .. I'm here to tell the story.. Thanks for your's and i'll be following you two.. make that 3 .
You have a beautiful home. I also think it is the best liveaboard I have seen, and I have watched a few. The topsides are obviously set up from experience and the below decks too. Truly a boat I would love to own. Thank you for sharing. I can't believe she is only 33 feet.
Awesome boat, Awesome tour, Awesome video! Really, I have been checking out boats for the last six years or so now, and I have gone from knowing almost nothing, through the stages of wanting first a Catalina, or Hunter, to a more sophisticated race oriented boat, to eventually realizing that if I intend to be a liveaboard, and I do, then the interior while not everything, is where I will spend most of my time, it will be where I live. I finally decided some time ago that I wanted a HANS CHRISTIAN 33T. You are very lucky to be where you are, when you are there, revel in it!
The first time i saw that boat in a sailrevue Noordzeil in 1985 and loves immédiatement the HANS CHRISTIAN 33. Still now it is one or m'y favorits. Gold sailing
That is my kind of boat. absolutely everything, thank you very much for doing this great video. I could spend a great deal of time living in that layout, especially the way the sleeping arrangements are designed.
Fantastic job highlighting all of the features of Prism. We especially liked the world map on the table; keep filling it in ... you know what we mean! Well done ... sail on. Joseph & Marci, s/v Horizon.
Super good boat tour! Well apportioned, with two amenities I hadn’t seen, the scuba compressor and (one I’d thought of but never seen) the cockpit shower. Really smartly done throughout 👍
Absolutely Splendid !. A most excellent walk through. Totally informative. Amazingly built design. A proper job !. Good sailing and greetings from Scotland.
+Sailing Vessel Prism (SV PRISM) this is sooooo cool! i am 11 and my friend is 12 and us biggest dream is to sail the sea! and this is the PERFECT ship! not to big no to small. its epic! but later we gonna buy a ship like this and i also have a of it! im not gonna tell cuz i dont want anyone to steal it. my friend still dont know a name of his own ship. BUT we gonna customize it make us own flag and sailing around the sea. that was my dream thanks for the info of the awsome ship and i hope my dream come true! BYEEEEEE! ⛵
Awesome boat. It so complete a boat in that 33 feet with so much character, I love it. Great presentation. I am definitely finding a world map for our salon table. The layout is genius with the fwd head and shower.
I love the old school look of her.. really gorgeous and I like the Berth you guys chose to sleep in.. I loved the tour.. I have never sailed before and Love watching vids like this.. I have been yearning for adventure and freedom like that.. I could easily rid or put much of what I own in storage and just go.. One day maybe I'll own one
I just stumbled across your video some 4 years after it was posted. My wife and I owned a 1981 Hans Christian 33 from 1995 to 1997. Sadly, we have few photos of her. So your video was such a delight to see! At first, I was holding my breath wondering if Prism may have been our boat, especially with Berkeley as your sailing port (the couple we sold to were from Berkeley) but eventually figured out from a few details and then the age that the two are different. We loved the boat for all the reasons you mentioned, plus it was perfect for the San Francisco Bay where the wind can easily hit 30 knots on an average summer day. I look forward to seeing more of your videos!
You are both very lucky to have a great boat like that with lots of wood it has so much character......we enjoy your blog's etc keep doing more. all the best for you and save sailing Spike in UK
I just came across your blog, I LOVE IT. I love your boat too. I will go back and look at other videos. You seem so down to earth which is nice. Keep up the good work and Viya con Dios.
Thank you for a great tour . It’s a beautiful character boat . You might want to store the paint and chemicals somewhere else other than underneath your bed .
This is the best 33 footer layout I've seen, from classic to new. So much space, almost unbelievable.
Best boat tour ever. Very informative. It shows how smartly the boat was designed, obviously crafted by a marine architect who had a great deal of cruising experience.
This how a tour of a boat should be done. Outstanding !! Prism groupies rule.
Actually...I'm considering this boat and storage is a concern, so I'm glad she showed the boat in depth. I thought it was awesome!

I have never seen a better boat tour. What a smart discussion. Thank you!

is this the best boat tour on youtube? quite possibly
😎 I think soooo. 😎 🚣
Hands down.
I like that she totally owns, knows and loves her boat ,and there is a lot to love, can’t believe all that in 33ft
OMG! I had to share this with my friends because you're just so REAL. Finally, someone who understands us.
I loved your boat tour!! I watch a ton of these in envy, but I see a lot. Yours is the most homey, warm and practical vessel I have ever seen! It looks very loved and enjoyed! Heavenly! The Pullman berth, the wardrobe doors, v-head shower. Oh, don't get me started. This is the most 'awesome' boat I've ever seen. 🤙
Thanks for the tour! I can see why you guys love the HC33 so much!
I love the layout of your boat. So efficient. The forward head instead of a V berth is brilliant. Based on the interior I’d never guess it to be only 33 feet. Excellent blue water boat too.
Wow. Just stunning. That's a beautiful boat. And I cannot believe the vast stowage space you have. Thanks for the tour, I really enjoyed it.
Thank you!
Watching this it is hard to believe it is 33 feet, that is a lot of storage and living space. Thanks for a great tour.
This is still by far my favorite boat! Have seen this video ten times, and it keeps surprising me. The storage and size is insane for a 33 feet boat.
Your boat is laid out extremely well. I love the old wood look it gives it lots of warmth.
Excellent. One of the best boat tours I have been on. Fair winds and regards from the UK.
Splendid and awesome boat...wow!! Thanks for the in-depth tour of the boat. I'm deeply impressed with the exceedingly practical layout and the extent of storage without compromising the charm of this boat.

Thanks for the tour. I have been dreaming about sailing for decades now and it was nice to see the tour. Safe sailing :)

Great boat and presentation! Everything looks in place, big shower, living room, 2 beds! Looks like a 40'
By far this is the coolest sailboat video I have seen. I want this boat!
That is absolutely massive on the inside! Much bigger than the outside suggests! It seriously looks like a 42' boat interior.
Thanks for the tour. perfect size and it looks like you have her set up to really work for you. Enjoy!!!!
cheers!

Beautiful boat I love following your videos next best thing to being there for me.
