I remember the exeptional seller story and marketing of this Westsail. If I remember correctly he was a retired fighter-pilot and this W32 was basically the home for his family between deployments. It almost represented the only constant in their lives and he pumped a shitload of money into it to make it perfect at the end. Its selling price was around 150k$ and it is like a new boat. I remember it because of the gold plated sink:)
Whoever did that varnish work deserves a Nobel Peace prize. Or a Golden globe, or something? It's so beautiful that i wouldn't let anyone lean on anything, i wouldn't let anyone down below if they were sweaty or wet or had recently caught a fish, i would've let anyone set anything anywhere. Maybe on the floor. But on a throw rug. Thank you for the tour! I really like your narration style, it's better when you're in a gale though, that's the best!
I worked at the Wrightsville Bch. plant when it first opened. Fantastic experience and a wonderful boat. Our highlight was taking the 32 demonstrator out after work for a quick sail out a cupla miles then back. Good memories!!!
Wowwwww. You weren't kidding! This boat is gorgeous. Almost feel guilty taking it out sailing it's so nice!!! But then again, sitting on the dock isn't why they built Westsail 32's.... LOVE those prisms. I have never seen that before!! How cool. What's the advantages/disadvantages of having the self tacking staysail boom?
I think the boom is nice for general sailing but I wouldn't want it offshore. I like Sparrow's clean foredeck. But out an about in a place like North Sound, it's one less line to pull.
Funny, you said you felt like you should be wearing a tux. I had been thinking that she would be a great place for a black tie and tails cocktail social. What a truly amazing boat ! Their choice of reading material shows good taste in literature as-well-as impeccable taste in boats. Thank you to her owners for allowing us to take a tour.
Why do many canoe stern boats have boom gallows? Kevin Boothby "how to sail oceans" has one on his Southern Cross 28, you have one on The Mighty Sparrow" and this one as well. It seems we have more than a coincidence here... I'm in love with these W32 boats...there's a guy who totally rebuilt his and it's for sale now for $159k. It's disgustingly gorgeous. Anyhow... What's up with the boom gallows? Thank you:)
That's definitely the nicest W32 around. Is that "factory built" or custom down below do you know? Didn't they allow the owners to finish their own interiors or order factory finish? They all look different down below.
@marcvenery364 have you lived on a boat? It will not look that nice for long. Every mark or scratch will show up on the woodwork because its such a hi gloss finish. It's a show boat for the marina. That standard of finish is going to be a real challenge to keep
Oh my god!!!! Just brings a smile to your face!!!
Wow...beautiful boat. I think I need to get the polishing rag out for mine after watching this :)

I always felt like I was going to mess-up or scratch the varnish! Though I think it was also because the boat wasn't mine. What a beauty.
Inspiring video. Makes you want to get organized, cleaned up, and dig out the varnish. Beautiful boat

wow! museum quality - probably much better than when new.
On a whole different level
Perfect description.
Beautiful little boat. Excellent presentation, nothing more, nothing less
Impeccable! A beautiful work of art!
"Attu" number 737 is easily among top 5. Formerly my W32 for 20 years.
I need this immediately
One of the most beautiful boats I ever seen! A+++

If this Westsail is in the top 5, id love to see the other 4 in the line up 😍🙃
Fantastic boat ! Thanks for sharing 👍👍

That's one sexy boat what's it called, The Vixen?
Wow!

Was that factory finished or a kit boat?
I believe it was factory finished, but then completely rebuild

Fully restored and custom finish by the original owner❤
You have to prop open the portholes on Sparrow with a stick? That seems odd there's no hook. You can correct that pretty easily though.
Working on the plan right now.
I think we all need to know what product they used? Varnish looks great. Was considering Cetol, but need to know.
I will try to find out for you.
@@SailingIntoOblivion Awesome.
Is the starboard aft pilot birth and smaller nav station custom? I haven’t found another with this plan.
My question is did you make an offer to purchase? (Joke) beautiful but not used. I love those fans.
It's too nice to go sailing if that makes sense?
that does not make sense- this boat was built and then again rebuilt with world voyages in mind. Stay tuned

@@James-cr5qx well, we’ve cruised over 2300 miles on our “showboat” over the last 15 months and we love every little scratch and ding.
@marcvenery364 I think your taking this all the wrong way. Lovely boat. All the best 👍
Maintenance nightmare
Lots of bright work to keep up with for sure, but oh how lovely right now
the boat is holding up great, what maintenance it requires is a labor of love!
Nice
It ain't better than murf's shack bud
The shack is a Palace, I agree
Nice!
