Nice to see this tour of Avocet, your lovely yacht Chris & Marissa! The hard work that you both have put in is, of course, only partially visible 😁 (ALL of those weeks and months of what seemed endless projects hey!) All the best ahead with your sailing and new mountain lives!
W0W! you look beautiful, Avocet looks beautiful, your anchorage looks beautiful. Just a whole bunch of beautiful in this one!! Thank you for the xcellent tour of your floating home!
Very nice tour ! You and Chris have accomplished some really great mods. I love the Cheoy Lee sailboats as each person seems to be able to mod it to their own desires. I also love Jay & Kenna's Cheoy Lee. Thank you for the video, Kudo's to both of you for a great job on the boat and look forward to more videos. Be safe.....
SV Avocet (Chris or Marissa, but I suspect Marissa) gets credit for me succumbing to the significance of today. However, I learned a lot about SV Avocet, the P.O.s and some of the history during your ownership by following the link below the video. Well done.
The dedicated dorade to cool the engine room is a great feature! And, obviously, the quarter berth already belongs to Cleocat, you can tell from they way she keeps looking at you guys during filming @9:11
The Cheoy Lee 41 is a comfortable and luxurious sailing yacht, perfect for day trips and weekend cruising. It is a great choice for those looking for a yacht that is easy to operate and maintain.
The Cheoy Lee 41 is a great blue water sailing yacht for experienced yachtsmen looking for a yacht that is both luxurious and fun to sail. With elegant design, outstanding performance and spacious interior, Cheoy Lee 41 is the perfect yacht for long cruises at sea.
Such a beautiful boat. You two have really done a great job of refitting and upgrading her over the years. Great to see another video and enjoy your cruising!
Lovely to see it all come together after so much work. Presenter pride beaming through out, and really nice to get some back story on the decisions; my wife and I have been around and around some fine points of design for months. Great script and camera work. Thanks.
W O W . . . !!! 😱 We have watched ALL Of those projects (that you’ve videotape) and have been amazed at Chris and your work..✅ But to finally see them all put together in One Video is fantastic.!! Love seeing Cleo, we have Many dumped off stray cats 🐈⬛ living in our front yard and finally have a cat that is a Double for Cleo… her name is Bear 🐻… And last of all, we are glad to see that you have Finally put Avocet 🆙 for “S A I L”…. 😁👍👏🥳
Great boat tour Marissa. I've been wanting to see the ins and outs of this beautiful boat for some time. Well done! And Chris, man, you are so good with your hands. I guess now you are over all the hassles with the engine and the boat is back together, it is so nice to sit back and revel at your handy work. You should be proud of your achievements, because they are what most men strive for. Beautiful work Mate! Also Marissa, thank you for all the hard work on the videos too. You add the pizzas to them. Oh, and I guess seeing all the other young RUclips sailing couples are expanding their crew numbers, I guess the question is, when are you guys going to bring on board a permanent new (mini) crew member?
An excellent overview. You have worked so hard on your boat and it looks beautiful, Fine workmanship on many details--but the dodger project was complicated yet came out so well. I just hope your next boat requires less renovation. Thank you for posting.
I admit that I was very confused because (from the video title) I thought you were selling Avocet. Well, confused and a bit excited since I am boat shopping. Beautiful boat and tour. Looking forward to your continued adventures, and perhaps one day crossing paths in an anchorage somewhere in the world!
@@sailingavocet No. I live in the San Lorenzo Valley now, but I went to grades 6-12 there then lived there for another 12 years while going to college and working. One of my jobs is still in Aptos though.
@@sailingavocet Cool! We have probably crossed paths at some point over the past couple of decades. You're right about the small world comment. I actually sought out your RUclips channel after reading your article in Moss Motors magazine. If I remember right you fixed up an MGB, I think. I inherited a 1960 MGA that my parents bought in the early 1970's.
@@GhileMear250 No way! We have received so much traffic from that article, which was unexpected and truly wonderful. I look forward to writing more! Yes, we have a 1963 MGB.

Hello guys You guys did a great job on the overall refit of your sailboat! Clearly runs in the family!! I’m looking at you Prism!! 😅 Why are you guys selling her? Are you guys buying a different sailboat?
@@sailingavocet Darned!! I’m in the middle of re-caulking the cockpit, sliding hatch and turtle hatch, you know how much fun that is…..guess it’ll give me an excuse to take a break and drink a cold…water!! 🤙🏻
Looks so wonderful doesn't it? It's not. Extremely complex variety of systems and details. Things break all the time. Nothing is square. Access is always limited by tight spaces, you have to move something to get to something all the time. Maddening. It will all eventually drive you bonkers. Can't shower inside because of moisture and mildew. Constant corrosion from salt air. It just goes on and on.
I bet you’re fun at parties. It’s not that complex if you have a brain. Access is not always limited, and you definitely do not need to move something to get to something “all the time”. We shower inside all the time, and have never had an issue with moisture or mildew because it’s properly ventilated. What a strange, negative comment. Have fun being the stick in the mud you angry, angry man.
Interesting comment… They are not built to a low standard, in fact many (like ours) are overbuilt and many are built to Lloyds standards. Cheoy Lee started as a family business, and many of the boats had host families that oversaw the completion of each vessel which is why many have dragons carved into the forepeak. Here’s some more history: www.cheoyleeassociation.com/WebMisc/LLoyds.htm
Thanks for watching! Remember, if you’re interested check out all the info here ➡️ www.svavocet.com/2022/08/29/cheoy-lee-41/
The yacht is also equipped with many safety and navigation features, making it a popular choice for experienced boaters.

Young lady you sure know your boat ! great tour of a great boat !!
Fair winds⛵️
Inside and out 💖 cheers!
Stackpac adds quite a bit of windage. Don’t need a storm sail. 😉
Never had an issue with it and have been in some pretty nasty 💩. Would rather keep our sails in good shape than worry about a little windage 🤷🏻♀️
Nice tour, beautiful boat. We just purchased a gulfstar 42ft our refit is a year away but love some of the ideas you have..
Congratulations!

Asking price? I quickly read through all the work done and spes of the boat.
For sail, not sale :) it was an April fools joke
Well that was just like every other sailboat tour.
Cool story bro
How do you fit 300' of chain in there... And get it to not jam when lifting the hook?
We modified the inside a bit so it doesn’t clump up - we’ve never had it jam.
hello, can you show the name of the aluminum refinishing product you used on the mast? tnx
Hey there, it’s called Nyalic
gotta link for the OF?
