Hi Eelis, well done on the edit 💙 thanks for thinking this playthrough worthy of a supercut and for your service to the OW community o7
When are you going to play Forgotten City? I'll keep bugging you everywhere until you do :)
I love your energy and attitude in this video! Subscribing to you and watching your other play-throughs next!
I wrote my final project for my senior year of high school on the exact feeling you described the end of the universe as. I just want you to know I greatly admire somebody else feeling comfort knowing every strife, victory, or the in between will pass one day and that everything will be ok.
@@nazgu1 bugging someone about something until they do it is a very good way to make sure they never do.
@@kamaniraJust the audience letting him know what they are interested in. It’s not exactly a nagging spouse!
And the whole Outer Wilds community clicks in unison with uplifted hearts

RUclips comments can ruin literally anything
Eelis should be awarded a badge of honor for his contributions to the Outer Wilds community
For real. Especially when the way of "playing" OW after finishing, is to watch others do it. Supercuts, which dont leave out important stuff, like this, are a godsend
I love him stumbling on the DLC and then leaving without meaning to. 1:16:39

Ever wonder what someone's mind exploding in their skull looks like?
1:01:02 Landing on top of the dead Nomai and thinking he ran it over is absolutely hilarious
Grandma got run over by a reindeer
If I had a nickel for every time a RUclipsr has stumbled into the Stranger *completely* by accident, I’d have two nickels! Which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice
It's the best.
This is how the ATP do
Who is the other one
@@igntambirAbout Olivier's :)
The chance is small, but with infinite random playthroughs it's bound to happen now and then
4:45 "Writing and reading is really important to me, so I like paying attention to that kind of stuff" When you can instantly tell someone will have a fantastic time with the game
Facts. I really enjoyed this playthrough
Having him fly left not understanding how gravity works in the sun station and then giving up made me die a little inside.
I'll always love and appreciate how the model rocket tutorial (3:01 - 4:00) is a subtle metaphor for the entire game: trying, failing and restarting from scratch until you learn the thing and get good at it. It really sets the right tone, straight away.
I'll always love how it's one of the first things the player encounters, making the controls seem scarier than they actually are
Lol, no one stuck around with the model ship long enough to get good with it, most people left while muttering "God, is that how hard flying the ship is going to be?"
I appreciate how comedic the camera movement becomes for the model ship. Dramatic zoom ins on your pathetic attempts to pilot it
@@ChristopherCraven-- I landed on the Attlerock before heading to the rest of town.
@@ChristopherCraven Some people did, some people didn't. lil indigestion kept going until they got decently good at it. So did I.
I am utterly perplexed as to why he constantly accelerated towards the left on the sun station leap even as he was drifting further and further left into the sun.
He panicked. Over and over and over again. It was so painful to watch when it first came out because I thought he was never going to make it
The Unexpected Autopilot to Stranger Maneuver was the highlight of this, thanks!
Like, HOW THE HELL THERE ARE MORE CRAZY THINGS TO DO IN THIS GAME?!
i've seen at least one other person who accidentally ran into the stranger, and they just kinda saw it for a split second or two before their path left the cloaking field. they didnt find it again until they had done most of the rest of the game. that seems like a fun way to experience that
@@littlesnowflakepunk855 About Oliver was a great playthough
@@kabinet0 that was prolly it yeah
I was wondering whether this was possible or if the stranger is somehow locked out by some trigger, and I'm so excited to see it happen by accident in a blind playthrough
I watched that happen when the vods were coming out and I YELLED
35:30 "How's it possible to keep me safe?"
Devs: "That's the neat part, we don't."
lmao when he bumped into the strangers ship.
Just a fun little reference - the probe has been looping consecutively for roughly 390 years worth of loops by the time we start looping...
I have never seen someone fail at the sun station so many times
And in the same way every time as well. Seeing him get mad hes drifting off while thrusting in the direction he is drifting was maddening.
So many moments where I had to say "oh, this guy GETS it." Like even though he makes as many mistakes as any player, this one knows what this game is about spiritually.
50:15 What a touching speech, he will probably love the ending more than most
Very much a papa Nurgle moment
1:21:50 i never noticed the children actually had worse hand writing, this game never ceases to amaze what in the fuck
Also the little typo in Solanums essay when he was little. Just imagine him showing his essay to the class
@@n.b.4409 Solanum is female! But yes, it's adorable
Also you can see teenager nomai handwriting above the statue workshop on statue island too.
@@Eukleides89 where was that confirmed, genuinely curious I always assumed it was up to players interpretation as Solanum is sort of like a parallel to the players Harthian that you can watch learning at things along with you
@@i_am_mr_methere is "dialogue" (writing on walls) between Solanum and other Nomai and she is referred to with female pronouns. The Nomai have a binary understanding of gender, with every Nomai being referred to as either a he or a she, whereas the Hearthians seem to not make that distinction. All Hearthians are referred to by neutral pronouns they and them.
It's very interesting how two separate civilisations come up with their own unique rules, including their understanding of gender.
Just the fact he walks forward very nearly into the warp pad and then backs out is crazy
I watched his full playthrough after completing the game myself. The one thing that was painful to watch was him having a hard time with the sun station. If you look at the controls, he's in 0g going across the "bridge", but he's holding the down thruster on, and he attempted it about 20 times before getting across
Yeah and he was putting the brakes on *while* complaining that he was heading away. That part was frustrating.
I didn't know whether to laugh or yell or cry
By far the hardest part to watch, it made so many of his deductions not correct.
Says reading and writing is important to him.
Calls the ancient race Naomi.
He says in his playthrough that he know he’s pronouncing it wrong, he just prefers to pronounce it that way.
@@crowater Why ??
He's pretty clearly saying Naomi as a joke for fun, when he walks into mining site 2b and comes across the skeleton on the floor he says "Nomai bones" and immediately corrects himself with "Naomi bones".
The funniest part of this to me was just how he thought he'd accidentally killed Solanum by landing on them with his spaceship. Imagine the Hearthian headlines for that. 'Local newly-fledged astronaut kills last living Nomai during hit-and-run.'
1:42:15 Jetpacks himself straight into the sun: "Oh no, the gravity!"
LIKE SERIOUSLY HE JUST GOES HARD LEFT EVERY TIME FOR NO REASON and then he's so surprised that he fell out of orbit
1:16:40 This is easily the more INSANE & IMPROBABLE event of ANY of these Outerwilds videos.
Dude really just ACCIDENTALLY flew into the stranger...
This happened multiple times before (in different supercuts on this channel)
@@plum8503 which one
@@wortwortwort117 can't really tell Eelis has made many supercuts but yeah it did happen once or twice
@@wortwortwort117 about Oliver
this is always why i get upset when people download the dlc at the same time of the game, but it does make sense to do it that way
The dialogue is very well written.
Everyone has a load of personality despite having no voices.
I appreciate that you noticed so quickly.
Outer Wilds is an absolute gem.
I will always cherish his reaction to seeing the "did I die?" dialogue option lol
1:34:30 "Imagine if that healed you, wouldn't that be funny?"
It would, wouldn't it...
I think one of the coolest moments for me, which can be seen perfectly at around 1:53:06, was after I had similarly followed the probe all the way out there. I was certain it had some neat little detail that would flip the mystery on its head for me, but it didn't have anything. And as the music reached its end, I turned around to see the sun supernova and it looked just like every other star that goes supernova throughout the game. There's nothing special about it - you can barely even make out the planets anymore - it's just another star going supernova.
It’s really fun seeing new players trying to get to Feldspars signal by going into the Mining site. It’s like the Hearthian equivalent of trying to get to China by digging through the earth.
Watching him boost into the sun at the sun station while screaming "the gravity!" is both really funny and frustrating at the same time
1:34:26 “imagine if that healed you that would be funny”
Wouldn't it be?
I can't believe it's actually canon that not burning your marshmallows is the right and proper way of things.
I have seen so many times the end of this masterpiece and I still can't watch the end without criying
naomi
i loved watching his bond with solanum grow during the playthrough :) it was a really nice payoff when he finally met her!
52:16 "I'm gonna commit sudoku". Well, that's a first.
I love how long he stuck around on Timber Hearth in the beginning. So much exploration to be done there, and the start I think is a good time to do it. Before you get swept up in looking for answers for the big questions
Him mentioning how he finds comfort in the heat death of the universe, and a certain end to the universe, lets me know that he's going to absolutely love the ending of the game. Again though, thank you for the supercut Eelis
As good as this playthrough is, your cut of it is phenomenal as well. Can't wait for the DLC version!
It's kind of amazing how many times he failed the sun station jump. Like, dude, you have a jetpack, make it push you towards the door
He actively used it to . . .push himself into the sun for some reason.
these never fail to be entertaining and well edited
I remember watching this play through in full months ago, folks you’re in for a treat!
Im quite surprised at myself
I thought i would get sick of watching these playthroughs eventually
But i still havent
Still get excited when you upload
Thanks for the videos!
everyone has a slightly different experience and interpretation, its great
It'll hit ya eventually
Note: you are under very high gravity in the sun station. You're just also in orbit.
"you want it toasty, not toasted.
*makes it toasted*
AHHHH **SHIT**
that is when i knew this was gonna be a good playthrough
2:41:32 The Sun's gravity is still affecting you. But you and the Sun Station are orbiting it fast enough to 'fall' continuously. This is the same principle being space stations in real life. If the Sun Station were to suddenly stop its velocity relative to the Sun, it would fall into it and get destroyed.
You're being pulled A LOT by gravity from the mass of the Sun, but you still are in freefall! It's really cool
Should the universe ever run out of OW streamers, can I interest you in the idea of a Disco Elysium supercut? So many very emotional conversations and discoveries in that very long game!
It was kinda hard seeing him just not understand that _space stations have zero gravity because they are in orbit._ The fact that the magnetic flooring is also on the sun side of the Sun Station should have been a clue. No reason to do that if gravity already naturally pulls you in that direction. If you try to compensate for non-existing gravity you'll just yeet yourself _away_ from the Sun Station instead, which is exactly what happened. Repeatedly. It's ironic that he's basically yelling that he doesn't understand what he's doing wrong when the right thing to do is literally nothing at all. But he found a way across eventually, I suppose. Even if it's not how most of us got across.
I really can't thank you enough for making these Supercuts for everyone. I hope it brings this game to light for more and more people so they can experience this once-in-a-lifetime kind of game.
2:28:05 the typo is not intentional, I've noticed a few typos in the game here and there, it's not because of a canon thing like children's writing or anything, it's just an overlook from the devs
I've seen his playthrough entirely a while ago, enjoyed it, and now you're telling me I should watch it again?!... OK, I'm in!
2:44:34 Bro literally quickdrawed his scout at poor Solanum on sight
As an addicted for outer wilds person I have my full gratitude to the author of this channel. The thing that I am now able to check x10 more different people gameplay is brilliant
Great edit as usual, loved seeing him logic things out and get more invested as it went along. Looking forward to the DLC+ending edit and his interpretation of those
I love to listen to these while I work, thank you for finding them and cutting them together!
Thanks for another high-quality supercut! Somehow even after watching a dozen of these they still make my day.
Oh I'm so glad you did a supercut of this one, it's one of my favorite playthroughs on RUclips!
yeees finally new supercut, i love you eelis.
now i can again enjoy the amazing feeling of discovering this game trough someone elses eyes. thank you so much
The fact he throw himself into the sun everytime at the sunstation XD. Best part of the run

edit: *FUCKING WAY*
Thank you Eelis for bringing us yet another marvelous supercut.
I CANNOT WAIT FOR THE DLC SUPERCUT, I LOVE THIS CHANNEL SO MUCHH
One of my favorite playthroughs of this game!
I needed this today, thanks eelis!
hahaha the collision with the stranger
I really like watching this game being played by someone who shares my outlook on life and death.
This game really caters to my philosophical ideals and validates my thoughts on the comfort in knowing that everything will ends and that’s ok.
The universe is, and we are.
The whole game is about optimistic nihilism lol u ain't unique
@@quantumblur_3145 lol not sure why you found this so upsetting
And I don’t think you understood my comment 😂
@@quantumblur_3145Unnecessarily rude to strangers on the internet now THAT'S unique baby
And here I am watching another Outer Wilds playthrough. So excited to see your reactions :)
I have never seen someone fail to enter the second part of the sun station so many times
it would be awesome to see a supercut of tomato's run, the vods are all up on his youtube
One of my favorite playthroughs. Love his analysis.
That is amazing that the children's writing is less smooth than the adults. Learning something new every watch.
thanks for another wonderfull supercut. cant wait for the dlc x)
Thanks once again for your hard work 💜
I love watching these, not only for the vicarious satisfaction but also because I learn something new about the game each time that I missed in my play-through.
One of my favorite, if not the favorite supercut of Outer Wilds so far!
Wow I've never seen the text at 1:20:00 before, even over so many other watches of other people.
edit: WOW I've certainly never seen 1:52:00 before! That's incredible!
1:29:05 I don't think half of the community has read that scroll
It's my first time seeing it too
Just Great man 👍🏻
I'm in the elite 50 😜
YEESSSS. NEW EElis upload
pd: Thanks for cutting out the DLC parts off the main game. I still haven't completed echoes of the eye.
whaat, finally a cut of his gameplay, that's incredible!
CANT WAIT FOR THE DLC!!!!!
that was an amazing playthrough!
sickk cant wait for part 2 ill be subscribed and ready
If it makes him feel better, he's like the third streamer I've seen play this game that responded to the knowledge that the Anglers are blind with, so I need to turn my lights off.
I love this man
Why can i not ever get enough of watching people play this game. I love it almost as much as playing it myself
cant wait for the echoes of the eye supercut ::D
This is the 2nd time someone has found the stranger on accident
Eelis Has Gifted Us A New Supercut It Is A Most Joyous Day
2:09:41 i never realized before he said it what the colors of the text mean. at first i always assumed they were something along the lines of unread or important messages but eventually noticed that isn't the case but still didn't know what they were. it makes so much more sense to me now and you can see from which side the communication is happening on the projection stones.
Great supercut, the guy was really fun on his travel.
i appreciate you so deeply
So did he never speak with Chert again after the first time? That's a bummer if so. Only seeing his dialogue after he notices the universe is ending, and never finding his "normal" state.
Love this game
1:16:48 literally how. that's actually impressive
1:34:30 whose gonna tell him?
It's become a pastime to watch first time playthroughs of this game. It's just a little piece of magic
good playthrough, no attempts of breaking the game or looking up spoilers. just pure discovery. ty for sharing
Ooo this is gonna be a good one
THANK YOU
