Just got back from Thailand and Japan and am watching this. I stayed exclusively at Hyatt properties. Since I was gone for 2 weeks I didn't stay at any too luxurious properties but I did learn a few things. I preferred the newer properties in "lower brands" Hyatt Place, Hyatt House, Caption by Hyatt more than the older properties in the "mid-tier" Grand Hyatt and Hyatt Regency. But the service in the mid tier brands is crazy in Asia. Greeted at the door every single time even past midnight. I had someone chase me down the street (as I walked out of the hotel) when it was raining to give me an umbrella. Such a different experience than the U.S. I just got to 30 nights. Hopefully one day I can be a globalist.
Congrats on 30 nights and welcome home! We absolutely love everything about Asia from the service to the food to the value. We hope you had a wonderful trip and you WILL be a Globalist one day!
My favorite Hyatt experience would be the Alila Villas Uluwatu in Bali (breathtaking ocean view dining experiences, 24/7 private butler, and more)! Sidenote: Hyatt Regency in Manila, Philippines is inside a HUGE a casino too!
Mitch I stayed at both Park Hyatt’s in Argentina last year. The PH Mendoza was amazing. They upgraded us to the Presidential Suite which was awesome. PH Buenos Aires is nice too. Enjoy your trip

I'm not a skier and Park Hyatt Niseko Hanazono is my favorite. The staff, food, and facilities are top notch. They offer rides from the JR Kutchan Station. Great video!
I knew this was coming eventually. I still sat through it as y’all’s content is great. Have stayed at (2) Thompsons and only the one is San Antonio is worth mentioning as my wife and I had a great time (would stay there again). As far as their other properties, well I have stayed at some of their Hyatt places and Grand Hyatt(s) and unless your a globalist you don’t get treated very well, so there’s my take on Hyatt. Looking forward to next week’s episode. Lol
Another great video, I def learnt a ton. Some of my fav Hyatts. Churchill Regency London with Globalist: A la carte Breakfast - superb, Club Lounge snacks all day , and Club Lounge Happy Hour 5-8 everyday. Park Hyatt Siem Reap 12K/ night - Fabulous deal , Phnom Penh Regency - really beautiful property, Good size suite 8K, Another Fav Ho Chi Min City Saigon 20K - Great breakfast, beautiful property in city center., Also big fan Andaz London, & Singapore. Really looking forward to exploring some of these that you have suggested like Bangkok, Costa Rica and the alila's
Thanks for sharing your favorites! It sounds like you have some amazing experiences at those properties. We're glad you found the video helpful! We're headed to PH Siem Reap next year together. Maybe you can join us there!
54 nights currently, will hit 60 by end of October. Grand Hyatt Manila club lounge on the 57th floor was awesome! Best view in Manila and food/ drinks were great.
We usually book 2 rooms when we travel. Is it better if i book it all in my account or should p2 book the second room? Pros and cons and other benefits?
Wife and I have been Hilton regulars. Playing the travel card game, was wondering if someone could compare use value between having the Hyatt catogory 1 -4 certificates to Marriots 35K with top off to 50k. Which free certificate have the better value and use between these for destination type of stay and not general roadside overnights. In short, between the two which is the better certificate Thank you
There is value in certificates just depends on how you use them. We think bottom line it goes with what Mitch says, if you can get more value out of the certificate than what you pay for the annual fee you come out ahead…however it also depends on other things as well. One example with Hyatt is Mitch is currently in Argentina, he used Hyatt free night certificates at the Park Hyatt Mendoza as it’s a cat 4… When it comes to the Marriott certificates, watch our current latest episode where we cover great uses of these certs.. where are some locations you feel you’ve gotten great value out of the certs for Hilton?
- Excited to check out Park Hyatt Auckland! - Loved Grand Hyatt Abu Dhabi (although breakfast is chaotic and not as nice as the lounge, with servers getting egg orders wrong). - Grand Hyatt HK no longer has Globalist breakfast in the restaurant so I couldn't try any of the noodles like Serena did. They switched to breakfast in the club only and it does get busy and there's less options for sure. :( - Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur is one of my favorites. AMAZING service and breakfast was really nice with views of the Petrona Towers. - Andaz Bali breakfast is unbelievable. Okay, I can keep going :P I am currently at 61 nights but also have the Hyatt card that gives me automatic 5 nights. Debating if I should try to hit 70 nights for the extra GOH award & suite upgrade.
We love hearing about the GH Kuala Lumpur! Thank you for sharing! We are holding out hope for the opening of the Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur by the time we go. Thank you for sharing your experiences with us especially at GH HK. No 🍜!!!! 😭😭😭

My favorite episode! Definitely not because it was a Hyatt episode… okay it was because it’s a Hyatt episode 😭😭 Mitch I’ll be going to Thailand next summer! I have HR Koh Samui and Andaz Pattaya booked but now you’re convincing me to try Park Hyatt Bangkok! What do you think? Should I do it?? I’m only discoverist 😅
I’ve been looking forward to this episode all week! I’ve watched it twice already 😂 Do you think some of your favorites (like Park Hyatt Kyoto or Andaz Papagayo) are worth the points spend without Globalist status? Does Globalist status get you free breakfast for just 2 adults or everyone staying in the same room (like my kiddo who is 18)?
Thank you for watching us twice! We hope we get to meet you at our LA meetup. Yes, these are still great properties without Globalist status. The Globalist breakfast covers 2 adults and 2 children, age depending on the property. You can ask very nicely at each property if they will also cover your 18 yr old kiddo.
@@LetsGetToThePointsI’ll have to try to my best Nicole impression and say, “the gentleman over there said that it was okay.” 😂 I would love to attend the meet up but it’s a long way to LA and the kiddo has finals. 😞
@@LetsGetToThePoints This was the one I went to, it was one of a kind and all people who will serve you are Omani citizens 100%, enjoy your time there, but make sure to rent 4*4 car otherwise the border police won’t allow you to get up to the green mountain, and the breakfast will be part of your reservation which is a kind of French style.
2 more things. I used a club access award at the Grand Hyatt Bangkok and agree with Mitch it's a FANTASTIC lounge. Plus they do cocktails and canapés every evening. I'd get a pre-dinner cocktail at the lounge everyday. 2) i used my free night certificate at the Hyatt House Shibuya. Tokyo is expensive for hotels. This category 4 was going for $500 a night! So great value for my $95 annual fee. It was especially good because it had a washer/dryer IN the room and I was able to get my clothes clean without having to stay at a laundry mat or use a lot of money to get my clothes washed for me.
We love how the HH Shibuya has a washer/dryer! Nicole will be staying there and she’s excited! Thank you for letting us know about the GH Bangkok lounge. The rest of us need to add it to our list!
I'm new to the Hyatt awards program as I just snatched up that 5 Free night SUB with Hyatt, this was the second video of yours I watched. New subscriber here and down the rabbit hole I go!! For my 5 free nights, I was thinking about Hyatt Centrics in Dublin and then one in Scotland, SCHLOSS Roxburghe both are level 4 hotels. Splitting the nights up and maybe adding on a night or two at the Mr. & Mrs. Smith in Dublin. Which will get me 3 out of the 5 brands in one trip, plus the Hyatt place stay I have next month will give me 4 of the 5!! I didn't even know that was a thing!! Has anyone stayed at any of the Hyatt's mentioned? Good? Bad? Meh?
Thank you so much for subscribing! We're thrilled to hear you're diving into the Hyatt awards program. Your plans sound amazing, and we can’t wait to hear how it goes! We have not stayed at those particular hotels but there are multiple Hyatt Facebook groups that have multiple reviews on many different properties. You might find some helpful reviews there!
Definitely get the WOH credit card. Also watch for the promos. Example - they just had a promo where if you stay at a Hyatt in Latin America you earn an extra 5000 points for every 3 nights you stay (can earn 20K points max). I stayed at a Category 1 Hyatt Place off peak for 3500 points/night. And I earned 5000 points every third night. So it really only cost me 1833 points per night. That’s probably the cheapest way to push toward Globalist Elite status. That works out being cheaper than the RIO, especially when you figure in taxes on the RIO cash price. It was a nice hotel with decent breakfast and good staff. I flew there free using points, so the entire vacation was very inexpensive.

Hello. Check out Episode 46 when Mitch went to Rio. You’re close enough to Vegas so Rio makes sense. Also consider the corporate fast track if you have a qualifying corporate email address.
Great overview!!! I’ll be at 31 nights before my December trip to Grand Hyatt Baha Mar, fortunately I have a guest of honor cert that I’ll be using there since I heard the food cost at Baha Mar is through the roof!!! Some family suggestions in case you have not been are the Hyatt Regency Palm Desert (Water slides and lazy river for kids), and the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale (water slide and sandy beach pool entrance for kids) both of which when I stayed were in the process of converting to Grand Hyatt. On the all inclusive side, we stayed at the Dreams Flora in Punta Cana (water park for kids) was a lot of fun….you can detect a theme, Hyatt needs a big kid water park filter!😂
We’ve haven’t heard great things about Indian Wells and we’re hoping you had a better experience! Gainey Ranch is a great one and Serena has it booked for next year. That GOH is DEFINITELY going to be helpful at Baha Mar. You are right! We need a water park filter!!!!!!
@@LetsGetToThePoints we were in Indian Wells for Xmas 2023 and while the hotel was under construction we had a nice time. My kids were 8 and 9 at the time so the lazy river, water slides, pickle ball courts and holiday activities kept the kids busy. I always say that you can go to the nicest most luxurious property but if the kids aren’t entertained then no one is having a good time.
@@LetsGetToThePoints Serena will have a great time at Gainey Ranch!! If driving is ok, here is a rough outline of what we did, two days at Gainey Ranch, drove through Flagstaff and stayed in there, we drove up to and stayed in Page, we saw the Glen Canyon dam in Paige and Indian Canyon. Indian Canyon is on Navajo land and requires a reservation. On the way back south we drove through and stopped at the Grand Canyon, then through Sedona and ended the last few days at Gainey Ranch.
Thank you for the tip! Hyatt Regency Bali is the one next door to Andaz, right? Mitch has been to both and he LOVES Andaz. Did you see his Andaz Bali video? You'll find it on our channel. Thank you for your comment. We need to check out those club lounges in Bali and Bangkok!
@@LetsGetToThePointscorrect the hyatt regency bali is next to Andaz Bali. We also stayed at Andaz bali it’s nice but the you don’t get club access. We been once with points at HR bali while category 1. Now is cat 2 which is still a bargain. But at cat 1 for 3500 points it was incredible 😂 going in December to Andaz pattaya and also using suite award. Even booked March andaz pattaya again while it was category 3. How much did Mitch pay for upgrade from garden suite to pool suite? The layout of suite is actually the same just the private pool would be extra, although I think you have better garden scenery from the garden suite at andaz pattaya. Not sure it it’s worth to negotiate 😅
Are you telling me I went to the Andaz in Maui and missed out on their snacks because I was under the impression they’d charge me for it? Now im mad 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
@ newly renovated, lake front property, Olympic size pool as well as a heated kiddie pool, huge spa area downstairs, kids corner, 24 hour bar, breakfast included for everyone, No lounge, does have tennis courts and basketball courts. Bowling and game room. Only 8k points.
Hi Justin! Thanks for joining our channel. Check the second half of episode 46, Mitch talks about how he did nights at the Rio and used a corporate status match… hopefully that’s helpful?
@@LetsGetToThePoints also, did I hear Mitch stayed at the Rio with a promotion and nights counted? I got 5 complimentary nights at Rio but didn't know if they will count towards EQN. I would have to pay resort fees since my Glob perks would not be honored. Squeamish about staying in the Masquerade tower ☠
@@LetsGetToThePoints i think the variety of food and drinks in the indoor outdoor seating, also incredibly helpful service. I took my parents on a two weeks trip to japan and they like this hotel more than the Ritz-Carlton Kyoto, mostly due to this lounge.
Yes, we were there early this month after our Serengeti safari. Beautiful room with the view of the Indian ocean, the breakfast was so good and the staff was great!
One thing about Miguel saying Hilton is unhinged. That’s just not true and they max at 150k points for standard rooms and that’s only a very few properties that go that high! I’ve seen much worst with Marriott, they have several properties where even their standard rooms can be much higher than 150k
@@LetsGetToThePoints Yes for points pricing marriott seems to be not too much more expensive for higher tier rooms, while for hilton any premium awards are ridiculously expensive. Could definitely depend on property though!
You can also do a mobile checkout using the Hyatt app, if you checkout prior to 2:30 pm. Think the time is based on the time zone your phone is in. I tried to checkout of a west coast time zone Hyatt, from my home in the Central time zone, at 2:45pm, and got a message stating that mobile checkout was not available after 2:30 pm. But it all worked out. A couple hours later I got the checkout bill emailed to me and the points in my account. I left a couple nights early and just put the do not disturb sign on the door.
If you do the Rio and you are NOT Globalist, make sure you use a guest of honor to get the resort fees waived, I think they are up to $50...Rio is pretty easy to do if you are in the area...

We think your kids are going to love Baha Mar!
That sounds like a great itinerary! Thank you for sharing. She has to stick close to Gainey Ranch due to her daughter's soccer tournament in the area.
Hyatt regency bali has amazing club lounge as well as the hyatt in Bangkok as you already said
Thank you for the tip!

Let us know if you have questions about this!
Are you telling me I went to the Andaz in Maui and missed out on their snacks because I was under the impression they’d charge me for it? Now im mad 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Oh no!!!!! The front desk should have done a better job explaining that to you when you checked in. Sad Day!!!😭
What’s over looked is the Hyatt Regency in Pravets, Bulgaria.
Thank you! What do you like about that property?
@ newly renovated, lake front property, Olympic size pool as well as a heated kiddie pool, huge spa area downstairs, kids corner, 24 hour bar, breakfast included for everyone, No lounge, does have tennis courts and basketball courts. Bowling and game room. Only 8k points.
Great find!!! We have to check it out!
Great episode! I just subscribed! Do you have an episode that discusses how to fast track to globalist status?
Hi Justin! Thanks for joining our channel. Check the second half of episode 46, Mitch talks about how he did nights at the Rio and used a corporate status match… hopefully that’s helpful?
Serena, you mentioned we can earn 1 EQN when we gift our FNC @33:12...did not know this
That was an oopsie. When you gift a Guest of Honor award, the donor gets an EQN. You don't get one when you gift the FNC. Great catch!
Are your 5 comp nights casino related? We’re guessing they might not count.
@@LetsGetToThePointsno gambling required
Grand Hyatt Fukuoka. I'd argue it's the best Hyatt club lounge
Ooooh! Thanks for letting us know! We haven’t heard much about this lounge. Please let us know what you like about it.
@@LetsGetToThePoints i think the variety of food and drinks in the indoor outdoor seating, also incredibly helpful service. I took my parents on a two weeks trip to japan and they like this hotel more than the Ritz-Carlton Kyoto, mostly due to this lounge.
This is so helpful! Thank you. We will definitely add this to our list when we are in Japan! 🇯🇵
PH Zanzibar 😍
Oooohhh. That looks like a good one! Have you been?
Yes, we were there early this month after our Serengeti safari. Beautiful room with the view of the Indian ocean, the breakfast was so good and the staff was great!
One thing about Miguel saying Hilton is unhinged. That’s just not true and they max at 150k points for standard rooms and that’s only a very few properties that go that high! I’ve seen much worst with Marriott, they have several properties where even their standard rooms can be much higher than 150k
Unhinged for non-standard Hilton availability. 1M - 2M for one night is pretty ridiculous, even for a premium room. We still love them though!
@@LetsGetToThePoints It is true that Marriot is a lot more fair for non standard rooms!
@@krisrock4589 Fair in terms of points pricing? We think this is highly property dependent.
@@LetsGetToThePoints Yes for points pricing marriott seems to be not too much more expensive for higher tier rooms, while for hilton any premium awards are ridiculously expensive. Could definitely depend on property though!
AM I able to check in at the RIO and then leave and they check me out? trying to make globalist
You can definitely check in physically and then leave. Get that status!
I lost both my water bottles already 😢
Hahaha! We need more water bottles!
I’m at globalist
