@@LetsGetToThePoints they all preferred the Atlantis, which is the opposite from everything we read prior to going. Definitely avoid the Coral at the Atlantis as it is showing its age, the Cove would be our pick if we went back.

Hi! Some of us are using the Capital One Venture X and some of us also have an annual travel insurance plan.

Hi! Capital One serves as an intermediary and likely would have gone to American Airlines for assistance. The time it would have taken to work through a middleman to get the issue resolved would have likely been too long. Thankfully working with AA directly was successful in this case!

Cruises can be SO expensive, especially Icon. My trick with new ships…book as soon as the schedule opens (about 18 months to 2 yrs in advance) and work with a cruise consultant who will give you extra OBC (onboard credit). Then pay it off by earning 5x on gift cards at office supply stores and look for Amex Offers. For run of the mill cruises, there are casino status matches that can result in free cruises.

@@LetsGetToThePoints A project of this nature takes at least a year if not two to put together. So when I heard that Turkish Airways was doing a flight service between Denver and Istanbul... I was thinking about the Orient Express Train from Turkey to France, with stop overs in between. Then taking the Cunard QE2 From France to NY on the way back. Since I have lived for 14 years in Europe and know three languages fluently, I am game for my last big Hurrah in Europe and meeting up with Relatives or Friends.

Sounds like fun! Planes, trains, and ships oh my!!!

@@LetsGetToThePoints In part it has to do with nostalgia, my first remembered long distance travel adventure was from Basel, Switzerland to La Harve, France. There boarding the SS United States and landing in Brooklyn, NY 5 days later. I also got to celebrate my 5th year Birthday Party aboard ship, second day out. Then on another occasion I also traveled with the Queen Mary from England to Brooklyn, NY a few years later. The movement of rail traffic throughout Europe is central to commerce and trade. The usage of Rail Passes such as the Deutsche Bahn, Swiss Rail Pass ,Trans European Express allow for multiple stops and starts along your travels itinerary. I like train transport, because you get to see more of the country and areas you travel through. Then also some rail tickets and local public transport tickets may also allow for reduced or free visits to areas of interest. As far as those AMEX points and travel tickets, some how, over all of the years of travel, and no matter what country, their Agents saved the day for me more than once.

I think we all need to go to Malaysia now!

Hi Caroline. When you manage your booking online, you can select a meal or list a preference. Calling the airline will work too. Serena does not have any airline status. Anyone can pay for a day pass as long as space is available in the lounge.
