I can confirm the Points & Money option worked... I had to book a night at the Louis Armstrong Hilton, so after Serena's thought experiment I figured I'd give it a try and "Sweet Success"!!!
I saw this on my way back home. This made my day. Thank you to the team for the name drops and call outs. Now for Hilton: I just finished a stay in a Curio in New Orleans (phenomenal stay). I have a Conrad stay in Singapore in two weeks and we just booked a Hilton in Hiroshima next month. My favorite stay under the Hilton flag thus far is a tie between Conrad Osaka and Waldorf Astoria (Chicago). Second favorite stay is the Waldorf Astoria (Orlando). Luxury is nice but sometimes people can’t afford it whether on points or cash. If I can afford to stay in luxury I will but I like to opt for Curio collection hotels as none are the same. I’ve stayed at Curio hotels in Houston, Portland, New Orleans, Washington D.C., etc. When Curio brands are not available Hilton is where I tend to go. As Nicole said, it is a keen to a Hyatt Regency and for the most part, provides consistency in service all the way around. We have (2) Hilton Aspire’s in our household and we love them. We get tremendous value year in and year out. Highly recommend if you spend at least 25+ nights in a Hilton a year, to get the Aspire ( i just hit 42 after this past stay. I have never tried the gift cards as I organically spend all my credits at hotels so I cannot comment on that. In our younger years, and in some recent cases when we were stateside, Embassy Suites is still a good option and provides excellent value. We last stayed in one back in late 2021 for an extended weekend in D.C. in a connected suite room with some family members; would still stay there now. Nonetheless, no one can convince me that Hilton isn’t king of the hotel/hospitality industry. It’s also not to say other hotel brands don’t deserve loyalty, I just know what I am getting every single time I step into a Hilton hotel. Great show as always and will one day get to a meetup.
Great great episode again. You guys know Hilton is my go to for hotel stays. Please have the meet up on NY! And that’s right Miguel’s if they don’t take it, trust me, I’m not paying haha. Once again keep it up
I'm going to go on a limb and say this is the DEFINITIVE video on the Hilton Honors program. I thought I knew everything about it, but still learned a lot. Great video!
Great news! Were you at Crockfords, Conrad, or Hilton? We're specifically wondering if the gift cards would work at Crockfords and Conrad or if it has to be a property that is just a straight up Hilton. Thank you!
Great episode, I’m actually a Hilton loyalist and really enjoyed seeing this breakdown. I actually stayed at the Doubletree Residence in Miami and that was a great hotel. We had a 3 bedroom penthouse suite and it was just phenomenal.
y'all always crack me up on every episode. love it! I haven't stayed at many Hiltons but the WA Arizona Biltomore was nice but encountered too many issues. Like Nicole, I'd like to use my FNC for PH Kyoto ☺
Great show! I enjoyed it. I’m a big Hilton fan. In the US and Panama City, Panama I have received upgraded hotel rooms on every stay. So far, I haven’t had any problems using my Hilton gift cards in the US. I forgot to use the gift cards in Panama! Thanks for giving me more ideas for places to use standard reward points on upcoming stays.
Hi! We love to hear about your good experiences! Thank you for reporting on your gift card successes. We’ll need to make sure we stay at a Hilton in Panama City!
Great episode as always! We are huge Hilton fan and have 6 apsire cards between my wife and I. We've been to WA Maldives, WA Palm Jumeriah Dubai, Conrad Osaka & Tokyo and Roku LXR Kyoto. Hilton program is definitely worth it in our book but I am biased 😊
Thanks for sharing your experiences! It sounds like you and your family have had some incredible stays with Hilton. Those properties should be on everyone's list. Please share which one is your absolute favorite!
@@Omahottie Through upgrades. We 1st opened the regular Hilton then shorlty after the Aspire. Then a year later we opened the Surpass. This year we upgraded both the regular Hilton & the Surpass to the Aspire giving each 3 of them.
@@LetsGetToThePoints Honestly everything. The location is right in the heart of the historic district, right across from Porto Cathedral, the aesthetic of the hotel is artsy and unique, and the staff were so helpful in helping me find a good dinner recommendation. This was part of a stopover in Portugal, and I didn't expect to enjoy Porto so much!
I have two Aspires and a Surpass card. Love getting 3 Free Night Certificates for those high-end properties and the credits make it easy to liquidate. The Diamond status is so great overseas as well. The Aspire is easily an S-Tier card.
Wow, it sounds like you’re making the most of those FNCs! We're excited to hear how your stays at the Arizona Biltmore LXR and Grand Hotel Victoria turn out!
Great show and insightful details as always 🎉 I have 3 free night rewards to burn! Currently waiting for standard availability at WA Los Cabos in June 🤞🏽and debating to use it at Conrad Osaka haha
Hi RJ. Thank you for your kind words! It sounds like you have some exciting travel plans ahead. Both WA Los Cabos and Conrad Osaka are fantastic choices!
Favorite Hilton property so far: Double Tree Iguazu Falls (Brazil) I was a-bit hesitant because it was kinda pricey for one night: 180 usd, not bad but we know there are cheaper options. However I was pleasantly surprised. Checked in around 10am so we were definitely early but the check in agent, no hesitation our room was ready (no charge), PLUS we were allowed access breakfast buffet even upon arrival (no charge). So essentially two days of breakfast even if we only stayed one night. I'm a Gold from Amex and they gave a little plate of treats with an appreciation card. Love this treatment, would highly recommend to anyone visiting Iguazu Falls.
I was upgraded to a corner suite at the WA Beverly Hills and my wife hasn’t stopped talking about it ever since! WA In Maui was ok, maybe I visited at a bad time during renovations? Will be visiting WA Cabo and I’m very excited. I only redeem my Hilton points at high end resorts, wouldn’t waste them at Hampton ins. Love hyatt too for lower/mid stays. I don’t even bother with Marriott 😆
We are going to have to check out that corner suite at the WA Beverly Hills! Thank you for sharing. Enjoy your time in Cabo. We don’t want to waste our points at a Hampton Inn either! 🤣
Love Hilton! Our favorite has been the WA Amsterdam! Completely agree with Serena. WA is my favorite brand (Conrad Maldives was exceptional too!) and prefer over Park Hyatt.
I know Marriott doesn't allow transferring FNCs to others, but is that also the case with Hilton? And is it easy to mix and match FNCs across multiple reservations?
For Hilton, we haven’t been able to transfer but you can put another person’s name as a secondary guest for check in. However, this is not recommended internationally.
@LetsGetToThePoints no. I'm talking about aa shopping portal. Not the hotel portal. Yep aa shopping portal has hilton in it (if you are pay cash) :) happy earning
Haha Mitch, I also lived in Hilton Garden Inn in NYC for two months during the COVID! Yes, it was really cheap at that time but the breakfast was also in a bag 😂
No way! That’s awesome! I guess you and Mitch both survived the bagged breakfast era together! 😂. That must have been a nice stash of Hilton points you earned!
I used to love Embassy Suites too! Between having a suite and a nice free breakfast, it’s one of the best options when you don’t have status. I do want to know which Marriott lounge Miguel went to with a pasta station (even though this is a Hilton episode 😂)
