    I have world of Hyatt and I can’t talk it up enough. Definitely great value, I should have got it earlier…. You can book the lowest end Hyatt hotel for 5,000 points!!! 5k points which is equivalent to $50 on other cards… book the room on a Saturday which goes for about $100-150 depending on location for 5k points, that’s a great value.

    Using Citi TYP to transfer points to Choice results in great value. Ended up booking a stay for twice the value just by transferring out vs using the Citi travel portal. Having the Choice Select credit card is nice for the status boost too. I'm a Hilton loyalist but dipping toe in water for Choice on family travel redemptions especially since most of our non hotel rewards are in Citi TYP. Good video and overview

    IHG Diamond and lifetime platinum and currently Titanium with Marriott and was Hilton Diamond . I'll take Marriott any day, it has the range, consistency and selection of 3-5 star hotels.
    IHG Diamond means nothing in the states.
    Looking at the choice card and Wyndham business card and United Air's business card right now.

    Please consider the following before you select your hotel rewards program:
    IMO, aside from the points systems, the Best Western, Choice Hotels and Wyndham are in a completely different quality category when compared to the others. Night and day experience at the low end, with hit and miss level of quality, which is also important to consider when choosing a Hotel program.
    The base room look and feel at many Marriot, Hilton and IGH sub-brands of properties are very similar, to the point if you were just standing in one of those rooms, you couldn't tell the difference between brands. For instance, Hampton Inn, Fairfield Inn and Holiday Inn Express all have very similar rooms.

      Most Best Western's are really nice

      I like Wyndham because they have cheap (but safe) properties, and also more expensive ones - also with the Business Earner card, you automatically get Diamond at Wyndham, and get to status match it over at Ceasar's, for free parking and no resort fees -- huge savings if you ever go to Vegas. Also the Business Earner card gets you like 8 time matching for gas??? 5 time matching for my electric bill??? Yes please!

    I think IHG point value is generally lower than Marriott and more close to Hilton. Hyatt point redemption is definitely better but doesn't give 4th or 5th night free upon point redemption.

    I am a Marriott loyalist first followed by Wyndham, it's a combination that works for me. As long as JB Pritzger is making a penny off of Hyatt I will sleep in a cardboard box first.

    Why not Accor?

    Interesting you mentioned Wyndham second. I just started looking at their properties and there is a good range of stuff from budget to rather nice. Good program for a family man like me. I get Citi points so YAAAY…

    Nice video , wheres Accor ?

      Accor isn’t very big in the US, and as such I wouldn’t recommend it to US travelers. Would you want a video like this for European chains? Not sure if I’d be able to make one but if enough people are interested I’d consider it.

    You included value vs dollars in comparison.
    You didn't included the impact of using the co branded credit cards in those ecosystems for spend at these hotels.
    Example Hyatt you said x5. Yet it's x9 with the WOH.
    Hilton you offered .06. Yet the Aspire as a diamond blows that away around X34 of that point .
    Every hotel chain can pretty much have same changes using the brands credit cards. Without including this,, a true comparison is incomplete.
    HYATT has great hotels and point system but not the greatest CC. HILTON stays and value are supercharged with the Aspire

      Yeah but this video was about rewards programs. Not credit cards.

    • @PointsAdvisor
      @PointsAdvisor  Год назад +6

      Appreciate the input, but yeah not really the point of this video. Would you want additional content in the future solely focused on credit cards? A bit hard to go over credit cards in a video like this cause there are so many nuances to them and so many options.

    • @billwright2176
      @billwright2176 Год назад

      Without the cards every program is different.
      It changes everything
      Example 60 night stays or a $450 annual fee on a credit card. Choose your path to status.

    • @PointsAdvisor
      @PointsAdvisor  Год назад +7

      Agreed! It definitely changes things. But talking a lot about credit cards would push a video to 40 minutes. Would you have preferred a much longer video that includes that kind of information or two videos, with one focusing more on Credit Cards? Genuinely asking, this channel is new and I’m trying to make sure my videos are as helpful as possible.

      @@PointsAdvisormake a part 2 but now talk about the cards that go with these programs and how they boost the value. Include the different tiers.
