Amazing, and an excellent tip to remove tiles when not surrounded by other tiles around it… thank you 🙏🏼
Thanks for the kind words and support Zurgit - much appreciated 😊👍🏼
@@makeitwork-propertydiy10 I was hesitant to take tiles off that had been up over 17 years.. I went ahead after watching this….. wow…. Easy work… not much mess… everything was off in an hour… that’s clearing up into rubble bags and out the kitchen…. Totally impressed.
Thanks again 🙏🏼
Excellent news Zurgit - really glad that it helped. Thank you so much for taking the time to update and for the kind words - really appreciate it. All the best 😊👍🏼
Instead of paying my handyman or tile guy to strip tiles, I paid $99 for a Ryobi multi-tool and got at it. Thanks.

Came back to say followed these techniques when removing tiles and it was a breeze. Thanks!
Hello Vanessa, thank you for the kind words - really appreciate it. Really glad it worked for you. All the best 😊
Looks like a good method - how did you remove the remaining adhesive to get back to a wall ready to be re-tiled? Cheers.
Hello, good question. I simply used the same scraper blade and ran it across the remaining adhesive. If you look at the clip @ 2:30 minutes ish you can see an example. I didn’t feature this in the video - sorry. Takes the wall back enough to re-tile. Hope this helps 😊👍🏼
@@makeitwork-propertydiy10Ah I see, thanks!
Great tip! How well would this technique work for removing a tile surrounded on all sides?
@@dlawrence Hello David, yes, we’ve used it to take small sections out (e.g. 4-6 -square/ rectangle shaped titles at a time) to access pipe work etc. Just make sure you remove the grout deep enough around each tile you intend to remove. All the best
thx you its helped me so much.
@@legato3067 thanks for the support my friend - much appreciated 😊👍🏼

Does this work removing tile installed with both mastic and mortar? Or just one or the other?
I’ve mainly used it on thinset, but the principle is the same for mastic
Could the tile be reused? I need to relocate imposible to find tile.
@@rickybscs Hello Ricardo, yes. The tiles shouldn’t break during removal using this process. The only issue you’ll have is removing the remaining adhesive from the back of the tile. This could done by carefully using the abrasive grout removal tool or other attachments like rough cutting blade. Just take your time and carefully do a small section at a time. I hope that this helps 👍🏼😊
Do you think this would work for removing tiles from a shower niche?
@@ThePoopooheadface never tried it on a shower niche to be honest. If you try it, let us know how you get on 👍🏼
Hi is that a plaster board mate?
Hello Tony, the tiles went on sometime after being plastered. A few sections of the wall needed to be boarded first, but mostly just new plaster on existing walls, then tiled. Then, tiles had to come back off again. Hope this helps 👍🏼
What electric tool are you using?
Hello, it's a Dewalt 'Multi-tool' (other makes are available) with grout remover and scraper blade. A link is provided in the description below the video to all of the equipment used in the video. I hope that this helps - all the best
@makeitwork-propertydiy10 a.k.a. Oscillating tool. In the US, multi-tool can also refer to a gadget that serves several functions, like a screwdriver, hammer, paint scraper, wrench, and pliers in one.
@@dad1432 thanks for the extra information - it helps everyone out 👍🏼😊
Hard board floor and ply over bath, then go nuts.
I appreciate your diligence and professionalism though, but I’d have that done in 1 hour max.
.
yea looks easy but how long have the tiles accually been on, grout looks pretty soft it takes a long time for grout too really dry
Thanks Neil. I’ll refer you to the other comments posted on here by other people that have used the method (some of their tiles have been on for years). That should answer your question 👍🏼
