Yep, awesome simple, disconnecting wiring harness before removing bulb is clutch, difficult to twist bulb out when still connected to plug. Also great tip on getting replacement connectors from HW store. This video shows some of the important details that are difficult to see in others. Also, there is a difference between passenger and driver side replacement. Thanks
Bill Wagner glad this helped! Thanks for the comment!
And 15 minutes later, I have 2 headlights! Thank you! Great video!😊
Awesome! Nice job 👍
Bloeoyster5, thank you so much!! Took me about 15 minutes to do, once you showed me how to get to the bulb! disconnecting the wiring harness before removing bulb is paramount, makes it a much easier job. To think, a mechanic would charge almost $300 for this simple job!
James Taylor you bet! Glad this helped and thanks for the comment!
Wow! that's awesome... 230,000 miles on a 2008 Honda Civic!! and I thought my baby was getting up there... I have a 2006 Honda Civic with 84,000 currently. Hopefully mine will keep on going too for many more years.
84k….she’s still young! 👍
84K… don’t worry, it’ll get to finally leave the nursery next year
@@jefffinkbonner9551 😂 Thanks Jeff, makes me proud to be a Honda daddy
I got 210k km, which is 130 000 miles on my 2008 civic. It still goes easily trough yearly inspection with no problems, literally without any engine problems, just changing the 0-30W oil yearly. It probably runs 300 000 miles without worries at least. 84 000 miles is nothing, that car would sell for 5000$ in my country still.
I have a 2006 civic with 115,000 miles. 🙂
On my Civic EX in cold weather the plastic in the wheel well was really stiff and had to bend it hard. For me it was easier to disconnect plug from old bulb by removing the bulb while still plugged in, reaching in from on top via the hood with my left hand (push the plug end up towards where the left hand can barely reach) and holding the bulb in my right hand from the wheel well. For plugging in the new bulb I did as in the video, screw in then plug in all from wheel well. Thanks for the video!
Glad you found a way to work around the cold effects! Thanks for the comment!
Thanks for sharing, been going to your channel for my 08 civic fixes! Changed both sides easily after watching!
Fantastic! Glad the videos are helping 👍
Thanks you saved me so much time! I also noticed that the splash guard had almost all of the tabs missing.
Good to hear! Yeah, those tabs somehow end up missing on these cars. Thanks for the comment 👍
Thanks man I changed my light with no problem I was wondering how to on the passenger side and got it done in less than 5 mins
That’s great! Took me way longer than 5! Nice job 👍
We changed both bulbs today and man, what a pain in the ass. Saved us installation fees though. Thank you for the video. Helped a lot.
They are a pain for just light bulbs! Glad the video helped!
Appreciate this video bro... saved me the headache of trying to figure it out. Sheessh!
Yeah man, no problem! I appreciate the comment 👍
I'm sure the 24 people who didn't like this video weren't able to replace their headlight themselves
💯
This actual helped me more than any other video
AT Crew glad to hear it! Thanks for the comment!
Dude! You are a life saver, just replaced my bulbs using your technique. Glad I watched
Awesome to hear that. Thanks for the comment! Glad the vid helped
Good video very helpful thank you !
You’re welcome!
What bulb for low beam and high beam honda civic 2007
I don’t know off hand but that information is on the internet.
Thank you
You bet!
Thanks man. Just completed this job in like 15 minutes with your technique.
You are welcome! Thanks for the comment!
Don't know if mine is different ( 2007 ) but the plastic container thing that blocks your hand is easily removable..... And LED lights are great for these cars
dj anger you might be on to something with this idea. Honestly I didn’t consider it as being an option. If correct, this video is in its time of dying. It’d be much easier your way. Thanks for the tip!
My driver side burned out this week but I only have 90k miles on my 2008 :)
Wow, that’s very low miles! Nice!
I have a 2006 civic that has 114,000 miles. It did have 94,000, but it was stolen and the thugs put 20,000 miles on in a month. Luckily it was recovered. It was damaged but fixable. It was probably the worst month of my life, and I had a hard time overcoming the theft(aggravated) and driving it again(ok, it took me a year). But we're cruisin along now🙂
@@kristyhoward6897 wow, that’s terrible! Freaking thieves…I’d be equally aggravated. It’s such a betrayal of decency to do something like that. Sorry that happened. I’m glad you got the car back in relatively good shape despite the extra 20k in miles. Wonder what they used it for? Probably not delivering food to the needy.
Kinda dumb design from Honda but I still love the car I just installed leds today
Hell ya man! 👍👍👍
It s a wrong way, you can pull up the white water tank under the hood then change the bulb.
Yes, that’s a way to do it as well. Both work, but I like your method better.
Thanks ❤.
Thanks bro. Glad I don't have to remove the bumper.
You bet man!
Thanks man!! Appreciate people like you to help show us this stuff!!
Hey, you’re welcome!
How do I access the high beam bulbs? Same way?
Hello. The high beams are much easier to change. Just open the hood and you’ll see them there. Thanks for the question.
The other side looks like you could remove battery or just go in by the wheel liner again
It might be a matter of just removing the batter on the driver side. I’ve never had to do that one...yet. But the wheel liner is always an option! Thanks for the comment 👍
you can take the coolant overflow reservoir and move it right out of the way and you get enough room to take the bulb out
230k? Mine is at 119k and it died today. 😭
Wow, that’s pretty low miles...what caused its death? The engine block cracked on mine, but Honda had a service notice that replaced the engine at no cost to me. They did a warranty extension on certain years. Might want to check that out if the same thing happened to you. Honda is at 270k as of now. Sorry to hear about yours!
Maybe just the light bulb died? Just a thought.. Honda's don't die that fast unless they are murdered..
What bulb is the replacement? H7?
Hello. I don’t remember the exact part number. The google will solve that for you. Best of luck!
Im going to try this with my 2009 civic. Its left turn signal is blinking fast and i think the bulb is burnt out because the horn went out. Wish me luck. If theres any tips , id really appreciate them. Do i need to disconnect the negative terminal on the battery?
Hello. If you have a fast blinking turn bulb, the relay is going bad. If the bulb is lit, it’s not burnt out or going to burn out. I would search “Honda civic blinker relay” and see what comes up. No need to disconnect the negative battery in either case. Best of luck!
The Honda dealer quoted me $385 for the part (before labor), so I think I'll try this instead! Thank you so much for taking the time to do this.
Holy what!? $385 is robbery! Definitely shop prices or do yourself. You can find the most expensive light bulbs for under $50 and do yourself. Geesh! Dealers are sometimes crazy…
I thought the low beam bulb is #2005?
I think it is
As soon as you turned your car on I knew this was about to be a pro ass advice. Lol thanks for the wonderful tips. Can’t wait to change my new led lightbulbs
LEDs? Nice! That should be a big improvement. Appreciate your comment 👍
Thanks for this. It was a pain, but definitely doable with your instruction.
Sure thing!
Hey, thank you very much for the tip about removing the splashguard. I was able to replace the world a lot easier to do that. Thanks a lot man!
You are welcome! Thanks for the comment 👍
Thank you so much I had to do this asap since it happen on my lunch break last night..Took me atleast 20 minutes 😅 but I'm good 👍
Great to hear! I appreciate the comment and glad you had success 👍
so the low beam bulb is 9006, daytimes are 9005?
Hello. 9005= High Beam. 9006= Low Beam
@@FastFixRUclips so for the daytime running lights i would but the 9005?
Just did this tonight on my Civic. Thank you so much for the handy guide and the warning about the gloves.
Of course! Happy to have helped. Thanks for commenting 👍
Thank you very much for this DYI fix. It helps and saves me money for repair.
You bet!
Thank you. A bit of a pain in 30 degree weather but it works 🙏
Oh yeah! Cold definitely makes it worse!
Just did my civic 2007 in 15 minutes. thanks !!
You’re welcome! Record time! 👍
Thank you for sharing. After seeing this I replaced my headlight.
You’re welcome!
thank you! very easy to follow and now I have a new headlight lamp 😁
Excellent! Glad this helped. Thanks for the comment 👍
Thanks for making it easy. A little issues but it was done.
No problem! Glad you got it done 👍
I have Honda Civic 2008 I changed high beams LED, so now in the panel is blinking DLR how I can repair. Thanks
Unsure. Never had that problem
i just got a civic for my first car. this is very much helpful. thank you!!
You're welcome! Enjoy your first car!
getting the clip off was the toughest part
Haha, yep. There’s a good tool to remove them if you need to do in the future. Just search “auto pin/clip remover tool.” Thank for the comment 👍
As soon as it cut to you turning the car on, I already knew where it was headed and didn’t need anymore explaining lmao.
👏👏👏
Hmmm. Okay... Gonna go pay Jiffy lube for this...
That’s a rational choice! Saves messed up hands and neighbors hearing curse words. Happy holidays!
Super pour la traduction
Thanks!
Great tip , worked like a charm !!!
Good to hear! Thanks for the comment 👍
Basic bulb is the best because they last much longer than the brighter bulbs,320 hrs vs 150 for the next cheapest.
Julius B hmm...that seems a little on the short side. The Google says halogen bulbs can last from 500 to 1000 hours depending on several factors. LEDs are rated at 30,000. Wow.
@@FastFixRUclips Just going by Sylvania specs, and leds don't melt the ice in winter.
Julius B true story! I appreciate the comment, man. Thank you!
Thanks for this fix. 👍🏻
You bet!
💘
👍
Is this how you would change high beams as well? Thank you.
Hello. The high beams are accessible by just opening the hood. You should be able to see them fairly easily. Thanks for the question.
@@FastFixRUclips Thank you so much
@@scottemong.4450 you’re welcome!
Wow how could you see with the same bulb unsafe
Umm…?
@@FastFixRUclips yeah bulbs go dim. If it lasted that long it wasn't that bright very unsafe 🤦♂️🤦♂️
A good reason to only drive in daylight. Night time driving is too risky.
Thanks, boss.

Thank you!

Thank you man 🙏

Impressed by your camera skills -- holding the camera at just the right angle and taking the bulb out at once
Haha, not easy! Honestly, not my best work, but this video was shot in the early days. Appreciate the comment!
@@FastFixRUclips well it worked great for me. Successfully changed the light on my car earlier today. Thanks!!
Wouldn't be easier to remove the windshield wiper funnel instead of going through the fender wall on the passenger side?
Unfortunately, that still wouldn't provide enough room to work...maybe it would for someone who's double jointed and super skinny! Haha, thanks for the comment!
Swap in led bulbs
Whomever designed how the headlights are in Hondas needs to burn in hell.
Agreed 100%
You should have shown removing the fasteners
Indeed
Apologies

Get to it man..daaaammm!
I agree. This video could be better. I'm planning an updated and shorter version. I appreciate the critique!
I hate to replace on driver side light bulb it isn’t easy to reach
Agreed! A part like a head bulb that commonly goes out should be easier to replace.
Another vid out there showing how to do it from the top. This vids method looks like a pain in the ass compared to the other one
Demonic Blitz can you link to the video where it shows the install from the top? Curious to see that method.
