    Yea a lot of CPU AI fold when they deal with pressure that's plus or a move that's safe. Even old school snk final bosses lose to sweep over and over, you just have to let them approach you

    Literally, right before I started watching this, I realized the cpu is hopeless against hashogeki. It's honestly pretty funny that it's the God move for whatever reason

    • @i.ftekhar
      @i.ftekhar Год назад +7

      Probably because of the plus frames

    • @ngubod16
      @ngubod16 Год назад +5

      I dont know if regular hashogeki is plus, but I remember someone doing a video on why you should be doing crMK into hashogeki instead of fireballs like you would traditionally. Basically the fireball has a gap which allows you to DP through or Drive Impact, which the CPU can do easily. But since hashogeki is a frame trap thats plus (?), it seems harder to know what to do with that as DI doesnt work, hence the reversal at one point.

    Ryu lore accurate

  • @Stinkyremy
    @Stinkyremy Год назад +86

    FYI there is a trick that you can use on input reading AI, and it especially is useful using charge chars.
    If you hold a charge, or whiff a button, then spam loads of buttons, just bash everything in recovery frames, the AI janks and does not understand what your inputs are, which often makes it whiff or do stupid easily punishable stuff trying to react to the buttons you pressed.
    This has worked since MK back in the 90s.

    • @Makneuro07

      The computer has a specific timing that can be exploited in all fighting games

      All these years and computers still computers

    • @Stinkyremy
      @Stinkyremy Год назад +3

      @@Makneuro07 I dont really know what you mean but input reading AI, it simply reacts to your inputs before the inputs are even shown on screen. Doing what i said is just giving it crap loads of inputs in that time so it is reacting to any of them, which just makes it mess up.

    • @Brian-rt5bb
      @Brian-rt5bb Год назад +11

      @@Stinkyremy There's no way that works, why would you program the CPU react to the literal inputs instead of just reacting to the move itself. If it worked like you're implying then you could just throw "fake fireballs" and make the AI jump at you by just pressing quarter-circle forward. "Input reading" generally doesn't mean literally reading the inputs and trying to predict what you're going to do, that's super complicated and would be hard to program, it means that the CPU knows when you do a move on frame 1 of that move, and most moves can be reacted to if you can see them on frame 1 and have zero frame reaction speed like a computer does.
      I straight up don't believe the "if you mash while you're in recovery it confuses the AI" thing, that sounds like Mortal Kombat urban legend #2934892, sorry, and even if it's true because MK is weird and broken there's zero chance it's some universal trick in most fighting games

    • @SalvadorDolbyvsZAWARUDO
      @SalvadorDolbyvsZAWARUDO Год назад +5

      @@Brian-rt5bb "That's super complicated and hard to program"
      It really isn't. In the game there are a limited number of inputs that can actually cause damage and a limited number of options to make use of those moves. All you have to do is teach an AI to "be careful" (keep out of reach, be ready to block, look at frame data etc) when in-range of damage moves and to "react" when the full input is being pressed. You could also layer things like behavioral reaction (Elden Ring, for example, has bosses programmed to react at the start of certain animations such as healing) and boom, total over-kill AI.
      If you know what you're doing and have the full extent of information you're looking for, you could make this kind of AI in about a month and simply go to refinement from there. However, much like behavioral reaction, there are plenty of ways the CPU can figure out what you're doing without actually reading your input.

    Unrelated, but I realize why people would mute commentary during fights: they are as loud as the fight itself by default.
    But if there's a way to make them as soft as the announcer's in-match commentary from CVS2, I'm convinced this would be much more passable without having to turn it off completely.
