Snake Eyez is the only player that gives me that excitement I used to get watching Daigo back in third strike, st and sf4. The guy just knows how to put on a show and make it entertaining to watch

Man.....I always hear people talking about "secret tech" that pros save for tournaments and try not to let anyone know until they have to but this may be the first concrete example of that I've seen.
@@robe2187 Yes but it doesnt mean theyre explaining it. It would be insanely hard to find footage that includes this interaction before CCC, see specifically that it wasnt a wakeup spd, then study it for the 1 Geif in CCX
The transition at 0:27 is so well done! From the capcom cup stage with the fancy costumes to the training lab with the default outfits, synced with the music transition on Zangief's theme! As if we are about to scientifically breakdown a real scenario, which is indeed what takes place. Superb job.
I was recommended this video on a YT whim, but you've shown in 2 min that you definitely deserve that subscription. Your editing and transitions are on a different level with the blending!
BrianF explained this tech in SFV. Stormkubo won against Daigo in SFL like this, with Abigail vs Guile, and his ex cmd grab was stronger than Gief ex SPD
Man that's crazy! I watched this match and I was like "WAIT WHAT? SPD has DP invincibility?" SnakeEyez probably has more hidden tech that he's not gonna reveal.
Tbh that tech exist since SF4, maybe even Hugo can do it in 3s iirc. When you're a grappler that's something you ABSOLUTELY need to learn, I'm surprised people didn't know this technique
I think I recall seeing chat telling Daigo about this tech, and Daigo said this is so DAMN hard that he cannot do it consistently in real match. Kudos to Snake Eyez, what a legend.
Unsurprising coming from the guy who also mains Potemkin. IIRC Potemkin has a pretty challenging tech input-wise where he can cancel HPB into a Buster, taking advantage of the invincibility of the super to ignore a hit, allowing the Buster to land guaranteed and making it a good wake-up 'reversal'. It's pretty similar.
This vid is so well edited and put together , Thank You for the breakdown I would have been in training mode for hours trying to figure this out and understand why it worked. Im hooked and need more breakdowns like this
Thank you, I was honestly confused how the F did Snake Eyes landed that SPD on wake up there. I was hyped when I watched it live, but after I sat on it thinking, I was like, "I guess the foe missed the timing???"
I wish that with 6 months of prep, that snake eyez would have at least had a pocket character for a high tier and for fuudo and xian. Nice that he still won 3 matches but it would have been great to see him in top 16.
Snake and Megaman have to be 2 of the best Zangief players in SF history. When Snake is in his bag, WATCH TF OUT. Dude makes some of the craziest reads and has some of the best reactions. Everyone is lucky Gief isnt top tier.. if he was. Just give the trophy to Snake.
I saw this live earlier i'm like WTF, how the hell it was not thrown like me always when an opponent did it to me?? This is an awesome tech that i gotta learn for my gief... 😱😁😃 SNAKEYEZ is on a whole different level of Gief. Too bad Fuudo and Xian is on the same bracket and beat him...
this is random ans unrelated. but I absolutely love that capcom modifies old stages or adds in new ones to fit their events. its a small detail thats really cool to see and gets you a bit more immersed. and no other company really does it. unless tekken does and I somehow missed it
too bad he didn't make it to top 16. i would love for him to make some players stressful against him there. but oh well he unfortunately lost to both xian and Fuudo. He is a menace.
i think i saw siberian lab do a tutorial on how spd is throw invicible if the timing is late...basically cacelling the up input from the spd into the spd
Bro, that was like 4 frames of jump frames he had to input that. Sure, not a just frame, but goddamn that’s a tight window. You couldn’t even see him do it and even the commentators didn’t detect it. What a god
Jump cancel was something shown a good while ago to deal with luke throw chains. I'm still not very good at it. Snake Eyez is still the #1 reason I learned SF and play Gief.
Actually makes me think if he whiffed the kick in the first place specifically for this situation. Would have been a useful mind game to do in the lead on the ending of a game.
When Snake Eyez is on, it feels like he's the best Street Fighter player in the world. Comp is lucky Gief isn't top 5.
Good player, but definitely not the best in the world.
he really is. nobody could do what he does with that weak character.@@misevibre

And that's why he's a pro. Thanks for the breakdown, I'd have never realized how high level this play was otherwise.
yee i when i saw it i was like bruh he woke up ex spd... the more you know lol
Exactly. I had no idea it was a read in a frame perfect counter
Randomly the coolest sync ever at 1:23
That was almost definitely on purpose

Damn straight
I don’t play fighting games but love watching Punk just bc of how good he is with every character.
I use jump cancel a lot since I learned of it. Most opponents can’t believe what happened. This is a superb analysis and demonstration.

When you said he jump to escape the throw, it felt like a plot twist, huge reveal to me
One of the best to ever do it, humble yet unshakeable. He is easily in my top 10 players in FGC history

Prejump cancel spd is in every sf game since sf2 lmao
Secret tech really isn't a thing anymore. Most tech is shared on the internet after being found and most pros also upload their gameplay.

Fking Dragon Eyez indeed. The dedication to BECOME the grappler he knows all about Gief
Who ever edited this did an amazing job. I caught the timing on that jackknife at 1:23 is so crispy.
Snake Eyez is out of his mind.🤯
I kinda hope it's not patched out, since you could still just hit Gief out of the jump. That's an _exact_ read.
@@SaltyKeldionit cant be patched out so we're good
also if you think about it you might be able to do that with flashkick and jacknife since the last input is up so delay upkicks could maybe beat throw
Snake Eyes pulling off advanced moves like an anime protagonist who is almost at Gary Sue level.
I noticed this live. So dope and pretty hard to do, snake is the goat

SnakeEyez probably has more hidden tech that he's not gonna reveal.
Ain’t no use in holding onto it, he’s out of the cup
Its been known about for a really long time the impressive part is the implementation in a clutch situation like that
Jump cancel Is hard to do even in trainning

Thanks for explaining. They say we need to learn art to appreciate art.
Anime level breakdown without the 12 episode filler, very nice 👌
Unlike others who choose top tiers, snakeyez is build different.
i was watching neph stream in japan one night and he played some gief there that was jump canceling spds non stop. hilarious.
Seeing Snake Eyes be a god with Zangief gets me way more hype then I should be. But damn does it feel great!
Amazing breakdown!!! Holy shit that’s some crazy tech lol
Damn dude Snake Eyez is just on another level entirely.

Im so glad you made this video i was so mad when the commentators didnt notice 😭
I watch Snakeeyez stream for hours and the amount of little details he practices is insane.
This is actually disgusting. Inspiring and goddamn terrifying at the same time.
I'm still salty Snake didn't have a secondary to deal with Fuudo and Xian. Rooted for him so much alongside Ending Walker and NuckleDu
Every time I watch Snake Eyez gameplay, it feels like I'm watching a documentary on the art of robbery
I’ve once again learned new forbidden tech !

kichipa talked about this few month ago,i learnt it soon after. should be common knowledge now. well, they really should make EX-SPD throw invincible .
This is elite content. I really just tought it was a wake up spd (guile player) . This tech explanation and tech is amazing .

You and me both man. Mans faced 3 Dee Jays😭😭
He was still one stun block string away from beating Xian. If that set was a bo5 I think he would’ve beat him.
This guy is a true genius. Its so bad that his main character still remains in mid to very low tier rank
nice catch on why this OD SPD worked.
Zangief + Snake Eyes = AMAZING!
What?! Great analysis and observation! Jump then od spd wow!

If only he made it out of groups
OMFG, that's just insane.
If he was in another group he'd definitely be in top 16.
This kind of tech is right out of a shonen anime, incredibly clever and hype
This is why you need to learn to SPD from any, and ALL rotations 🔁
Really magical how fuddo absolutely DESTROYED him and him getting knocked out already that was pretty good too

More than 20 years old technique. But really fit sf6 becauce of throw loop/meaty throw
Random viewer: How fast do you need to be to do that input?
Snake Eyez: Yes
come on snake eyez has been doing this tech for a while now
How do you do the camera stuff? Do they release binaries of the matches now or something?
I think I remember jump-cancel cmd. grab being in early SFV as well, right? I think I saw an Abigail player do it once...
It’s a pretty classic grappler option. It definitely was something high level Abigails did fairly often in SFV.
