      it actually does. those inputs are super hard to put in. you would think that he is playing modern controls. he used to play Akuma. he hardly ever lost with him. i think it was too easy and he went back to Zangief.@@GreatRusio

    Snake Eyez is the only player that gives me that excitement I used to get watching Daigo back in third strike, st and sf4. The guy just knows how to put on a show and make it entertaining to watch

    I use jump cancel a lot since I learned of it. Most opponents can’t believe what happened. This is a superb analysis and demonstration.

    Man.....I always hear people talking about "secret tech" that pros save for tournaments and try not to let anyone know until they have to but this may be the first concrete example of that I've seen.

      Secret tech really isn't a thing anymore. Most tech is shared on the internet after being found and most pros also upload their gameplay.

      @@robe2187 Yes but it doesnt mean theyre explaining it. It would be insanely hard to find footage that includes this interaction before CCC, see specifically that it wasnt a wakeup spd, then study it for the 1 Geif in CCX

    The transition at 0:27 is so well done! From the capcom cup stage with the fancy costumes to the training lab with the default outfits, synced with the music transition on Zangief's theme! As if we are about to scientifically breakdown a real scenario, which is indeed what takes place. Superb job.

    Stormkubo won against Daigo in SFL like this, with Abigail vs Guile, and his ex cmd grab was stronger than Gief ex SPD

      also if you think about it you might be able to do that with flashkick and jacknife since the last input is up so delay upkicks could maybe beat throw

      Tbh that tech exist since SF4, maybe even Hugo can do it in 3s iirc. When you're a grappler that's something you ABSOLUTELY need to learn, I'm surprised people didn't know this technique

    I think I recall seeing chat telling Daigo about this tech, and Daigo said this is so DAMN hard that he cannot do it consistently in real match. Kudos to Snake Eyez, what a legend.

    Unsurprising coming from the guy who also mains Potemkin. IIRC Potemkin has a pretty challenging tech input-wise where he can cancel HPB into a Buster, taking advantage of the invincibility of the super to ignore a hit, allowing the Buster to land guaranteed and making it a good wake-up 'reversal'. It's pretty similar.

    I wish that with 6 months of prep, that snake eyez would have at least had a pocket character for a high tier and for fuudo and xian. Nice that he still won 3 matches but it would have been great to see him in top 16.

    Snake and Megaman have to be 2 of the best Zangief players in SF history.
    When Snake is in his bag, WATCH TF OUT. Dude makes some of the craziest reads and has some of the best reactions. Everyone is lucky Gief isnt top tier.. if he was. Just give the trophy to Snake.

    this is random ans unrelated. but I absolutely love that capcom modifies old stages or adds in new ones to fit their events. its a small detail thats really cool to see and gets you a bit more immersed. and no other company really does it. unless tekken does and I somehow missed it

    i think i saw siberian lab do a tutorial on how spd is throw invicible if the timing is late...basically cacelling the up input from the spd into the spd

      It’s a pretty classic grappler option. It definitely was something high level Abigails did fairly often in SFV.

    Jump cancel was something shown a good while ago to deal with luke throw chains. I'm still not very good at it. Snake Eyez is still the #1 reason I learned SF and play Gief.
