    I gotta give props to UMA for going the extra extra mile when he gets that stun, sees Chris Wong already low, but actually backs off, stores and does a full combo just to be extra sure that he can maximize the shit out of this and kill 100%. My man played out of his mind all tournament long, what a legend.

      He also does that because Feng Shui is about to run out and you don't want it to run out mid combo or your links won't work anymore (you use different routes while it's active).

      A 9-5 and 8hr of gaming is a total of 16hr, meaning that if you want to get 8hr of sleep, you'd be going to bed (and actually falling asleep) immediately after. If you want to, you know, eat food and have a social life, then 7-8hr isn't feasible. Even going down to 6hr sleep, which I believe is the recommended minimum, you'd only have 2hr (3 if he "only" did 7hr gaming). He's probably doing 3-5hr, probably skipping a day here and there too. It's absolutely impressive.

    • @ShinjiTimC
      @ShinjiTimC 10 месяцев назад +1

      @@callumanderson6373
      What do you mean?
      9 to 5 = 8hrs
      Gaming for 8hrs totals 16hrs
      You’re left with 8hrs to do whatever you want. Then if the job has off days (most ppl get off 2 days a week) then it’s 16hrs you have left on those 2 days if you decide to game for 8hrs on your off days.
      When MenaRD won Cup the first time, he did an interview where he stated that he practiced for 7-8hrs every day. These guys game for a living, it’s like a second job to them. They are so good because they put in those hours consistently. That’s what separates them from the rest.

      I don’t find it impressive because most pro players do this and has been a thing for YEARS across the FTG community in general. It’s nothing new at all.

    Really sad how capcom makes some characters unusable at the highest level of play. I watched the tournament and it was exciting yet boring seeing the same characters being used. Luke might be the most boring character I’ve ever watched no matter who used him. The best match last night was rashid vs Dee jay. And kuckledu let me down. I was really rooting for his guile since he’s the best with him. I really wanted to see ryu being represented even though I knew that wasnt going to happen. I really would like to see more characters able to utilized at the highest level of tournament play.

    The LV3 combo was THE mistake. Using a level 3 that doesnt kill is almost always a mistake. Thats probably the biggest mistake you can make and it's never talked about.
    Youre gambling all your resources on the idea that you can take out the other half of his lifebar without resources.
    He had to do a meterless combo that left him with better oki

      Valid argument I use too, but the counter argument is you can build meter later and get more meter and damage that way, as well as recover your drive meter.

      yeah the idea is that you re-build meter for a level 1, but Chris was betting on the 2.5 drive bars for OD DP to get him out of trouble if he got cornered. But Uma made a huge play with the PP to burnout Chris, leaving him vulnerable to mixups. The better play for Chris, was to slow the game coz Chris had the life lead, and just wait to see what Uma does. That meaty mp lost him a mil

      The lvl 3 was absolutely necessary. The decision to go for strike instead of throw was his downfall.

    Thanks for doing this breakdown! I was watching this with buddies last night and a couple of them were screaming about how overpowered Luke was. I kept trying to explain to them choices, reactions and just strong capitalization will win the game, not simply that "Luke is better character".
    Uma made a lot of very good plays through the set. adjustments and choices he made were key. If I get the chance I'll share with them.
    Great breakdown.

      You’re not wrong, but Wong losing hardly means Luke doesn’t have privilege over the vast number of characters in this game.

    From over two bars of drive meter to brunout just because of a perfect parry. I am honestly happy over not a luke winning, but still I think parry needs to be nerfed. Either make it weaker, or make it only work on specials. Because I dont think throwing out a normal at over two bars of drive meter should be such a bad mistake.

    That's some pretty ridiculous hindsight to say Luke should've saved some drive gauge and converted 400-500 less damage off that first punish. They both had amazing runs, what an epic finish.

      I'm not sure we watched the same video. No one is saying "what a doof, he spent his meter", it's an analysis of what factors put him into the pseudo checkmate situation, and where he had decision points.
      In fact, I think the video is really complimentary to him - his meaty got perfect parried, deciding to spend less meter would've been a big damage loss, punishing Juri's whiffed button was questionably reactable, etc.

      @udderhippo 10 месяцев назад +1

      @dontokoi30 Why is it ridiculous? It's an analysis channel (as mentioned in the channel description) doing an analysis video (mentioned in the video description). Analysis is literally looking at things with the benefit of hindsight.
