STORYLINE:
In the Country of Starlight, a wise king had three sons. The eldest son, King Thomas, now rules over his land with benevolence. His middle son, Prince Roman, is captain of the royal guards. And his youngest son, Prince Patton, is simply enjoying life.
Their neighboring kingdom, the Iles of Storms, a queen gave birth to a daughter, Princess Mara. Unhappy with his heir, the king demanded she'd give birth to a son. True to his wishes, he was blessed with a son, Prince Virgil. Princess Mara was denied her birthright as queen, and she grew bitter and jealous of her baby brother.
Prince Virgil had no ambition to be king, but his father demanded it. During his father's diplomatic meetings with the neighboring kingdoms, Prince Virgil sneaks off and ends up running into Prince Patton. The two end up playing a game of hide-and-seek, and they become fast friends.
Fast forward several years, and Prince Patton and Prince Virgil have fallen in love with each other. Patton, having little to tie him down to the kingdom, gladly accepted Virgil's proposal for them to marry. Princess Mara, however, was displeased and argued that being queen was still her birth right. Their father, not wanting his malicious daughter to be queen, still accepted his son's betrothal.
Furious, Princess Mara began dabbling in dark arts to try and remove her brother from power on her own. She found a spell that would curse her brother and turn him into a beast. Now all she had to do was wait.
While out on a dragon hunt, Mara separated Virgil from their traveling party and cast her spell. When the guards came to see what was wrong, they found Virgil's clothes torn, and a vibrant purple dragon standing in its place. They chased off the dragon, and Mara said that the beast had killed her brother.
Meanwhile, Virgil fled and hid inside a cave, safe from any hunters. He found that as soon as the sunlight left his body, he changed back into his human self. However, when he tried to leave the mountains in his human form, he found himself changing back into the dragon. Unable to be free from the curse put upon him, Virgil did the only thing he could think of.
Wait for his lonely death to take him.

Okay just a concept...
Roman needs revenge, so he hunts down the beast that killed his brothers fiancé, until one day he sees it feeding. Planning ahead, he decides to follow the beast until he gets to its home, a cave on the outskirts of their village. Roman draws his sword ready to attack, but just as he gets ready to announce his presence and attack, the beast shakes slightly, and transforms into something much smaller. Something much more... human?
Roman was confused, right up until the human turned around, to which roman dropped his sword at his feet in amazement and confusion.
“V-Virgil?” He breathed, unmoving.
Virgil startled, not noticing roman until that moment, and in an instant he was wide eyed with fear and confusion.
Virgil, being literally trapped to a life alone, had enough time to think everything over, hence why he had never tried to get back to Patton.
Patton would follow Virgil into his cave and life of loneliness once he heard about his wellbeing and Virgil simply couldn’t let Patton do that for him.
And so Virgil did the only thing he could think of in that moment when his fight or flight reflexes kicked in.
He ran, deeper and deeper into the cave, until he had truly lost roman behind him.
Roman didn’t even move, still too amazed. He wasn’t dreaming, he was sure of it, and he couldn’t wait to tell Patton about his discovery, but he really had to make sure what he was seeing was true. He couldn’t get Pattons hopes up only to crush him even more. And so, remembering the cave he had wandered into, roman set out back to the castle.
It was dark, and Patton would worry if he wasn’t home soon. If only he had heard about what roman had seen. Maybe then his brother will finally stop grieving and get his happily ever after.
Roman just prayed that he had truly seen Virgil, and that he wasn’t imagining it. He could only wait until tomorrow to find out, when he would return to the cave.

Patton’s little twirl was so cute and graceful
Story time for those of you who would like more angst:
Virgil paced around the entrance of his gloomy cave in dragon form, restless as ever.
He was nothing anymore. Alone in the mountains he wasted away his life, wishing he could be with Patton once again.
However, he knew that could never happen. If he went to Patton in the night and explained everything, he knew Patton would follow him back to the mountains and live out his life with Virgil without a second thought.
Virgil couldn’t do that to the man he loved.
So instead he remained in his lonely cavern, surrendering all hope to the darkness.
That was, until he saw the hunting party trudging up the mountain toward him. They held swords, spears, and torches high above their heads, shouting for Virgil’s beastly head on a spike.
Virgil’s pupils became narrow slits as he gazed at them. Nothing like this had ever happened before. Should he fight them? Or should he fly away? Perhaps he should simply let them end his miserable life.
Glancing toward the sun as it descended along the horizon, he quickly calculated that he didn’t have much time left before resuming human form.
No flying away.
He looked back toward the riders on their horses and noticed a royal crest. Upon closer inspection, he saw that it was Roman, his love’s older brother, that lead the charge.
No fighting.
He couldn’t take away Patton’s family, and he couldn’t escape. This was the end for him.
Maybe it was for the best.
Virgil settled onto his haunches and raised his head high with pride. The group had arrived, about 30 men in total.
They were all mounted on armoured steeds and wore so much armour themselves that Virgil couldn’t recognize anyone but Roman.
He didn’t have much time to process what came next, as within the blink of an eye, the men attacked him.
He roared with pain as swords split open his side and shredded his wings.
The men started to push him backward into the cave in an attempt at trapping him, and Virgil stumbled back obligingly.
With one final stab, an armoured knight sent him crashing to the ground. Virgil lay there weak, and bleeding out.
The last sliver of sunlight dipped below the horizon and the light of the moon and stars shining through the hole in the cave roof became the only source of light.
Virgil felt himself slowly changing, shifting back into a human. It was always a painful process, but this was a new kind of pain. It was the dying kind of pain.
Virgil heard himself let out a feeble whimper as he laid upon the ground, covered with patched and frayed robes. Blood was pooling around him and he knew he only had a few moments left.
That’s when he heard it.
“... Virgil...?”
He lifted his head to see who had spoken, expecting Roman. Instead, he came face to face with the armoured knight who had delivered the soon to be fatal stab.
Virgil narrowed his eyes and tried to decipher where he had heard the voice before.
However, the question didn’t last for more than a moment due to the knight removing his helmet.
Virgil let out a faint gasp as he came face to face with Patton, who had tears pouring down his cheeks.
“P-Patton...?” Virgil spoke quietly, not sure if he was seeing reality or just his final dying wish.
Patton let out a strangled sob and kneeled down next to Virgil, shaking badly as he pulled the bleeding man onto his lap. He ran one thumb over Virgil’s cheekbone, letting out a sound that couldn’t be distinguishable between a laugh and another sob.
Virgil felt tears streaming down his face as well, mixing with Patton’s which had splashed down onto his face.
Virgil summoned a bit of strength to offer Patton a small smile as he closed his eyes, wishing he had just lasted a bit longer. Wished he had told Patton the truth. Wished he could say with the man he loved.
Patton gazed down at Virgil as he died and let the tears run. He was gone. Patton had spent so long seeking the beast he had thought had killed him, only to kill Virgil himself.
This was all his fault, and now, there was no going back.

A dark ending:
Patton, Roman, And Logan set out to find the dragon that “killed” Virgil. They manage to find the cave and Patton delivers the fatal blow, even though Virgil was trying to get to the spot where he turns back. Eventually he does, but he dies there as a result of his wound. Since he’s dead, they now have something to put in the grave they made for him.
I guess you could say Mara is a dragon witch

Re-watching this, I cried like a baby! I saw the title and I was like "It didn't have a series tile and part number before", I'm so exited for part 2! I hope we get a happy ending. (I feel like were gonna get a sad ending with someone killing Virgil while he's a dragon, and his body becomes his human form and it's sudden realization that he was alive all along)

And this video apparently messed up how I remembered their voices
I thought they actually sounded like this for a while
I know it must have taken ages to work on, but I kind of want to see a sequel to this. It was so well done and so well drawn. I would like to see the song “I know those eyes/this man is dead” from the same musical put to them seeing each other again. That would be kind of cool.

I loved this. I can totally see an animatic to continue the story where Patton goes to see Virgil’s grave at the same time that Virgil went as his dragon self. Patton sees him and assumes that is the dragon that killed Virgil. Then he’ll either try and kill the beast or cry and wish for the dragon to kill him so he could be with virgil. Then it ends with him seeing virgil in his human form crying

Story time for those of you who would like more angst:
Virgil paced around the entrance of his gloomy cave in dragon form, restless as ever.
He was nothing anymore. Alone in the mountains he wasted away his life, wishing he could be with Patton once again.
However, he knew that could never happen. If he went to Patton in the night and explained everything, he knew Patton would follow him back to the mountains and live out his life with Virgil without a second thought.
Virgil couldn’t do that to the man he loved.
So instead he remained in his lonely cavern, surrendering all hope to the darkness.
That was, until he saw the hunting party trudging up the mountain toward him. They held swords, spears, and torches high above their heads, shouting for Virgil’s beastly head on a spike.
Virgil’s pupils became narrow slits as he gazed at them. Nothing like this had ever happened before. Should he fight them? Or should he fly away? Perhaps he should simply let them end his miserable life.
Glancing toward the sun as it descended along the horizon, he quickly calculated that he didn’t have much time left before resuming human form.
No flying away.
He looked back toward the riders on their horses and noticed a royal crest. Upon closer inspection, he saw that it was Roman, his love’s older brother, that lead the charge.
No fighting.
He couldn’t take away Patton’s family, and he couldn’t escape. This was the end for him.
Maybe it was for the best.
Virgil settled onto his haunches and raised his head high with pride. The group had arrived, about 30 men in total.
They were all mounted on armoured steeds and wore so much armour themselves that Virgil couldn’t recognize anyone but Roman.
He didn’t have much time to process what came next, as within the blink of an eye, the men attacked him.
He roared with pain as swords split open his side and shredded his wings.
The men started to push him backward into the cave in an attempt at trapping him, and Virgil stumbled back obligingly.
With one final stab, an armoured knight sent him crashing to the ground. Virgil lay there weak, and bleeding out.
The last sliver of sunlight dipped below the horizon and the light of the moon and stars shining through the hole in the cave roof became the only source of light.
Virgil felt himself slowly changing, shifting back into a human. It was always a painful process, but this was a new kind of pain. It was the dying kind of pain.
Virgil heard himself let out a feeble whimper as he laid upon the ground, covered with patched and frayed robes. Blood was pooling around him and he knew he only had a few moments left.
That’s when he heard it.
“... Virgil...?”
He lifted his head to see who had spoken, expecting Roman. Instead, he came face to face with the armoured knight who had delivered the soon to be fatal stab.
Virgil narrowed his eyes and tried to decipher where he had heard the voice before.
However, the question didn’t last for more than a moment due to the knight removing his helmet.
Virgil let out a faint gasp as he came face to face with Patton, who had tears pouring down his cheeks.
“P-Patton...?” Virgil spoke quietly, not sure if he was seeing reality or just his final dying wish.
Patton let out a strangled sob and kneeled down next to Virgil, shaking badly as he pulled the bleeding man onto his lap. He ran one thumb over Virgil’s cheekbone, letting out a sound that couldn’t be distinguishable between a laugh and another sob.
Virgil felt tears streaming down his face as well, mixing with Patton’s which had splashed down onto his face.
Virgil summoned a bit of strength to offer Patton a small smile as he closed his eyes, wishing he had just lasted a bit longer. Wished he had told Patton the truth. Wished he could say with the man he loved.
Patton gazed down at Virgil as he died and let the tears run. He was gone. Patton had spent so long seeking the beast he had thought had killed him, only to kill Virgil himself.
This was all his fault, and now, there was no going back.

I don't even have the vocabulary to describe what I'm feeling inside but for me it's very unordinary, THIS IS THE BEST ANIMATIC I HAVE EVER SEEN, IT'S MOXIETY, IT'S DRAMATIC, ITS ANGSTY, IT HAS GOOD MUSIC, IT HAS INCREDIBLE ART AND FLOW TO IT, IT'S ROYAL ASDFGHJKLJKHJGHFGDFS
Instead of waiting for death to take him he could fly to his castle and find the spell book(because how else would she have cast the spell) and take it back to the cave and find a cure for the curse. Once he found it he could fly out to find ingredients and make the potion and use it on him. Then he could go to Patton's castle, reunite and explain what happened. Then Roman could order the guards to arrest Virgil's sister and execute her. Then Virgil and Patton could marry and since she is dead she can't do any more damage. I know it's dark but it's a good solution
The last sentence of the exposition in the description broke my heart...
This video is AMAZING! I personally don’t ship Moxiety, but that doesn’t take anything away from just how marvelous this work of art is.

You know, Virgil should write a letter to Patton (Just like drop it on the balcony in dragon form from the sky) and Virgil will tell him to meet him in the cave at night and they would be reunited. If there is a part 2 to this or something, you should make it something like this.

oh, sweet mother of flowers, this is amazing I love it. the story the animatic just everything.
Okay but hear me out y’all: evil Logan.
Logan would be one of the people causing this if you were going off of the musical the song is from. Plus, evil Logan is hot.
Have him slowly progress towards being evil, though. It was the sister’s idea at first, but she tells him what she’s done after she discovers he flies close to the castle. She tells him before telling the rest the news, and he is still coming to terms with it when he’s comforting Patton. The thing is, she told him something he couldn’t argue with: Patton would never be his if he told. You can hear the shift in tone in the “let me hold and help to heal you,” even if it’s unintentional by the original singer. He decides then that, though Virgil is his best friend, he loves Patton too much to give him up so easily.
Logan eventually delves deeper and deeper into hiding Virgil’s life from Patton and roman, going to deceit for help. He falls under his control, and he slowly falls into his evilness.
Could I have another pls continuing the story!! Like it was so good! U earned yourself I sub and thank-you for the moxiety there's not enough out there! Even though I only ship it as father and son I loved this!!!!

Okay so I made an angsty story comment ending, but if you don’t wanna read that, then here ya go:
Virgil loves Patton too much to tell him he’s alive. He knows that Patton would join him in the cave for his entire life for them to be together, and he can’t do that to the man he loves.

Patton-*working day and night to find a way to break the spell and does*Finally marries Virgil and suprisingly has two kids
Virgil-*in tears and is making out and hugging Patton*I thought I would never get to see you again*later develop the fear of lizards snakes and other reptiles and never goes to other countries without a sword of his own
Roman and Logan-*avoiding making Patton upset or or dramatically sad in fear of of getting murdered in their sleep
