Lies more fuel anxiety, not cloud or defeat it, so he can overpower them and escape. *i need to stop-*
Personal theory, i think deceit knew this, and sent the snakes to keep Virgil from being able to make thomas worried about how the sanders sides are acting. He made virgil preoccupied
Okay, but, let me just add to the angst, okay? This is going to be mostly Virgil centered, because I can. 0:54 V is the only one who doesn't /look/ scared, but that doesn't mean he isn't absolutely terrified, you can see him shaking. And I just love how protective Roman is right now. 1:10 Patton and Logan don't quiet understand what's happening yet, but Virgil does and he looks so scared. I mean, one of the strongest persons he knows just got corrupted. Also, STRINGS?! I've never noticed them before! 2:03 This looks like Logan is just ready to bolt, but he doesn't, because he knows he can't leave Virgil alone. Also the lyrics fits quiet well in this part once again, because logic doesn't know what to do. 2:07- 2:41 This has got to be my absolute favourite part of this whole video. (Perhaps because I'm biased and Logan is my favourite character, with analogical being my favourite ship- ANYWAYS!) Yes to the reflection of the snake in Logan's glasses. Yes to his absolutely terrified look. Yes to Virgil jumping between them and protecting him. (With this being another case of Virgil being the silent protector of the group, because Logan looks genuinely surprised to see Virgil protecting him). YES TO THIS PART ( 2:30- 2:34) because you can practically hear them calling each other's names and it's just ADDJHIDBDKSVXA! 2:40 And from here on out, Virgil is just terrified, all alone now and his friends, the people he swore to protect, he had failed them. And then the individual reactions to the others trying to hold Virgil back. With Roman, he has to shove him away the hardest, because Virgil knows that Roman could hold onto him, that he would be strong enough for that. With Patton, he rushes past, but Virgil looks back with a look that's a mix between worry and guilt. And then with Logan, oh my god, Virgil first looks startled (probably because he hadn't seen the other one standing there) but when he pushes him away, he can't even look at him, Virgil just closes his eyes, it hurts too much. Also, Roman offers an apology, Patton offers a hug and Logan offers a hand. Maybe a promise of safety? And that's another reason why Virgil is so affected by the last one, because he knows this safety, one that may once have been there, is gone now. And, I think 3:43 speaks for itself. All of them terrified, but in a unique way with holding something else as well. Roman, rage. Patton, sadness Logan, I'd say worry or guilt, but I'm not completely sure...

Ok so someone already commented on the size of the snakes, but what about the *order?* Roman fell first. For lies, you have to have the ideas. Patton fell next. If you’re thinking of lying, you have to cloud your morals. Logan fell last. To successfully lie, you need to logically use the lie to make it believable. Virgil never fell because Deceit had to chase away any anxiety that would make Thomas have second thoughts about lying.
OKAY BUT THE FACT THAT THE LINES FOR ROMAN AND PATTON GETTING TAKEN OVER FIT SO WELL ACTUALLY KILLS ME. LIKe??? ok I've literally watched this 50 time now and I've noticed something?? Like, when the snakes are going after one of the sides, the snakes eyes change colour depending on the person they're trying to bite?? Like, in 0:58 the snakes eyes are red, and it ends up biting Roman, who normally associates with the colour red. Same thing with Patton, the snake's eyes are light blue in 1:39 and it ends up biting Patton?? Same thing with Vigril and Logan. Idk, I think it's a really cool detail (also sorry if someone's mentioned this before)

This is awesome. But when I saw Roman protecting the other sides, Virgil standing behind him and sulking, Patton with his hands on Logan and Virgil’s shoulders, and Logan standing tall behind them all, that was so perfect that I want to scream!
This is probably the coolest animatic with Deceit I have ever seen I legitimately gasped and got a little bit scared at some points the imagery the pace, perfect, your art style really worked integrate both in to such a pleasing story telling! Actually, they kept getting under deceit's control, meaning, he was brainwashing them into liking his plan. They didn't go willingly, he forced them to, by snakes! When the snakes bit them(Logan, Patton and Roman), They got filled with lies.

I love the way Deceit actually getting into Thomas head had all the others in the defence, huddled together trying to watch each other's backs and Roman with his hand on his sword and Logan with his hands on Patton and Virgils shoulders, nd their fists clench 2hen the snakes appear and then their FACES, god, they're so rattled by the whole situation, and I LOVE the detail of Virgil having motion lines around him like he's trembling! I adore this whole animatic but that section, that first chorus in particular had so much to be in awe of that I didn't see people commenting on nearly as much as it deserved!!

I think you're more thinking of kind of aggressive towards Virgil, because hostile would imply that there was some sort of physical harm being done (I think, or maybe I'm stupid I guess idk) but that's a really interesting idea

Okay this is amazingly clever since Virgil(Anxiety) was the only one to get away, I took it as Thomas' anxiety dissapearing because of the squip(Deceit). not sure if that was the plan but it came out that way and its so great! Good job!

Ok random fact the order of their bites might be because deceptions can corrupt your creativity and morality the easiest and your logic can also be corrupted but because deceptions cause anxiety it can’t corrupt it. Maybe I’m looking into this way to much....
I had a thought let's say that what the Snakes are doing in the animatic is the same thing the squip does in BMC. (The song from this animatic comes from The Musical Be More Chill) What the Squip does is cancel out all you insecurities and fears. So if the others where bit by this snake wouldn't Virgil disappear? Here me out! Virgil is literally the embodiment of anxiety. If the Snakes where like Squips then they would cancel out Anxiety. The other this wouldn't imply too. Logan, Patton, and Roman when they get bitten by the snake nothing would really happen to them except they wouldn't show their sad sides (we've seen in many sander sides videos that each side has their own insecurities Pattons beginning when he was heart broken, Roman being the less favored side, and Logan not being the smartest one) those would all disappear. But Virgil he is Anxiety. Yes Virgil has been warming up to the others, but he will always be Anxiety he will always be the insecurity the Squips will attacks and cancel out. Deciet snakes wouldn't even need to bite Virgil because they did Virgil would become the opposite of what he is so wouldn't he disappear? If the Snakes reacted the same way the Squip reacted with Jeremy (canceling out his fears) he would be more chill. So implying these facts to Thomas then Virgil would be canceled out. Maybe Virgil wouldn't disappear but we would be in kind of a trance. Blocked out, faded, dull, dim, etc.
Ari Is An Artist I don’t think the snakes are meant to be the squip. Instead of canceling out fear they cancel out the side. Once Patton is bit by the snake he is no longer Patton, he is one of Deceits minions.

Maybe it’s just the sort of character arcs and so it makes cool in universe sense for virgil to be the only one left, but I also love the metaphorical sense of that nagging bit of anxiety in the back of your brain when you do something wrong.
I'm not crying- Your crying! Honestly, this was beautiful! I loved how well you made it, I loved how Virgil just sprung to action. Most animatic make him seem meek and even broken. You honestly had the best interpretation of him! Logan looked amazing, he looked like a legit teacher. He makes me wonder how much homework he gives. Roman? Where do I start! First off, that was by far the best Sander Side animation I've seen! Second, Thomas NEEDS to see this. Also quick note, if only Virgil and Deceit have powers, and Deceit is a dark side, does this mean Virgil was a dark side before the Accepting Anxiety episodes? I could be wrong... But anyway, amazing work!
Holy freaking shmokes, this is so amazing!!! I love the snakes and how they slowly take control over all the sides. Roman, the first line of defence, is taken down first and he quickly joins Deceit (loved the puppet strings btw), leaving his family open and relatively unprotected. Then Patton is taken to get Thomas on board with Deceit's actions, bc the right brain sides are the loudest and most enthusiastic, so they can easily hype Thomas up and make him get along with what they want. By now Lo and Virge realise something bad is going on, and Virgil steps in to protect his friend! I was thrilled for a sec bc, heck yeah! He can fight back!! :D AND FREAKING THEN ONE OF THE SNEKS SNEAKED UP ON LOGAN!! Omg, that moment is my favourite! Virgil's panic is so real and the way Logan collapsed stopped my heart, only for it to beat at three times the normal speed when he came back up with yellow eyes and that twisted smile!! The moment where they all close in on Virgil as he flees was really cool too! My heart was legit racing! And Virgil's dark flame powers looked really nice overall!!
This actually makes a lot of sence when you consider the fact that we know Virgil used to be a dark side. He WOULD know how to fight back and you can also SEE his guilt as the other sides get turned..... Gawd this is so good and it hurts my soul.

Everything about this is pretty wonderful. With the great facial expressions and the gold and purple clashing is just great! The only bad thing is theres dislikes and i dont think thomas has seen this yet. I might be being biased but i cant help it its just to good!

i just saw this and being a Deceit in a discord server myself i have to say this is the most beautiful thing ever and honestly i feel like this concept is ... A M A Z I N G. especially the snakes, i loved it.
This video is partially responsible for why I started to listen to be more chill, which led me to listen to music from other musicals. So thank you. Thank you for making me a theater geek (I already liked to act, this aided the fangirl)
Okay. So this is what got me into be more chill. I now realize. Virgil. Is Michael. And Thomas is Jeremy. And, also, here's my theory. *MatPat has entered the chat* My theory is that Patton will be easiest to break out of this whole "trance". This is because he's morality, and Deceit is literally his opposite. That Means anything Deceit does, Patton is combating with equal force. The others might not be as strong as Deceit and are only able to combat their own darkness. So, Patton would escape Deceit's grasp first, with the help of Virgil. I don't feel like this would play out like BMC, but that's my opinion. Then, with Deceit distracted with Patton, Virgil could attempt to break Logan and Roman out of their hypnosis. Thomas is sort of sweating between dark and light, with some sides telling him dark, others light. But Once Logan's out, it's basically over. Logan always states facts, and the fact is, the dark sides were trying to take control. He's Talking to Thomas, and Virgil has moved onto Roman. He's The most difficult to break, as Roman has a lot of sway over Thomas. Once he does, it's four against three (going on the whole Virgil was a dark side). Thomas is staying out of this, exhausted from so much internal conflict. Deceit and his crew put up a fight, and they would have won if Virgil wasn't there. Each side is fighting their opposite, and Virgil is helping each side by slowing breaking each dark side down. The dark sides surrender, and Patton, Virgil, Roman, Logan, and Thomas all go back to the main part of the mindscape. Thomas leaves, and the others all collapse in a freakin heap on the couch lol But hey, that's just a theory, a VIDEO THEORY. thanks for reading!

I've rewatched this video so many times now, and I love every detail you put into it, like how each of the snakes that infected the sides had a specific eye color that matched their target, and how at the end you have one curled around the feet of only the infected sides, not Deceit or Thomas. ok I've literally watched this 50 time now and I've noticed something?? Like, when the snakes are going after one of the sides, the snakes eyes change colour depending on the person they're trying to bite?? Like, in 0:58 the snakes eyes are red, and it ends up biting Roman, who normally associates with the colour red. Same thing with Patton, the snake's eyes are light blue in 1:39 and it ends up biting Patton?? Same thing with Vigril and Logan. Idk, I think it's a really cool detail (also sorry if someone's mentioned this before)

This is awesome. But when I saw Roman protecting the other sides, Virgil standing behind him and sulking, Patton with his hands on Logan and Virgil’s shoulders, and Logan standing tall behind them all, that was so perfect that I want to scream!
This is probably the coolest animatic with Deceit I have ever seen I legitimately gasped and got a little bit scared at some points the imagery the pace, perfect, your art style really worked integrate both in to such a pleasing story telling! Like ahg words are failing me other than to say that I love this!

Actually, they kept getting under deceit's control, meaning, he was brainwashing them into liking his plan. They didn't go willingly, he forced them to, by snakes! When the snakes bit them(Logan, Patton and Roman), They got filled with lies.

I love the way Deceit actually getting into Thomas head had all the others in the defence, huddled together trying to watch each other's backs and Roman with his hand on his sword and Logan with his hands on Patton and Virgils shoulders, nd their fists clench 2hen the snakes appear and then their FACES, god, they're so rattled by the whole situation, and I LOVE the detail of Virgil having motion lines around him like he's trembling!
I adore this whole animatic but that section, that first chorus in particular had so much to be in awe of that I didn't see people commenting on nearly as much as it deserved!!

Omg this was amazing, it honestly felt like I was watching a very climatic show, and I was screaming at the part where virgl was saving logan and logan got bit, almost teared up, not gonna lie
This is absolutely amazing! The snake imagery and the emotions that Logan, Patton, and Roman have show off the type of fear that I don't usually get when I listen to this song. Okay this is amazingly clever since Virgil(Anxiety) was the only one to get away, I took it as Thomas' anxiety dissapearing because of the squip(Deceit). not sure if that was the plan but it came out that way and its so great! Good job!

Ok random fact the order of their bites might be because deceptions can corrupt your creativity and morality the easiest and your logic can also be corrupted but because deceptions cause anxiety it can’t corrupt it. Maybe I’m looking into this way to much....
I had a thought let's say that what the Snakes are doing in the animatic is the same thing the squip does in BMC. (The song from this animatic comes from The Musical Be More Chill) What the Squip does is cancel out all you insecurities and fears. So if the others where bit by this snake wouldn't Virgil disappear? Here me out! Virgil is literally the embodiment of anxiety. If the Snakes where like Squips then they would cancel out Anxiety. The other this wouldn't imply too. Logan, Patton, and Roman when they get bitten by the snake nothing would really happen to them except they wouldn't show their sad sides (we've seen in many sander sides videos that each side has their own insecurities Pattons beginning when he was heart broken, Roman being the less favored side, and Logan not being the smartest one) those would all disappear. But Virgil he is Anxiety. Yes Virgil has been warming up to the others, but he will always be Anxiety he will always be the insecurity the Squips will attacks and cancel out. Deciet snakes wouldn't even need to bite Virgil because they did Virgil would become the opposite of what he is so wouldn't he disappear? If the Snakes reacted the same way the Squip reacted with Jeremy (canceling out his fears) he would be more chill. So implying these facts to Thomas then Virgil would be canceled out. Maybe Virgil wouldn't disappear but we would be in kind of a trance. Blocked out, faded, dull, dim, etc.
Ari Is An Artist I don’t think the snakes are meant to be the squip. Instead of canceling out fear they cancel out the side. Once Patton is bit by the snake he is no longer Patton, he is one of Deceits minions.

Honestly, this was beautiful! I loved how well you made it, I loved how Virgil just sprung to action. Most animatic make him seem meek and even broken. You honestly had the best interpretation of him! Logan looked amazing, he looked like a legit teacher. He makes me wonder how much homework he gives. Roman? Where do I start! He looked amazing, I loved how you drew him! He almost got mistaken for Prince charming- I'm serious I was wondering why a disney character was here. Patton just broke my heart. He literally just, broke my heart at the end! I love his design and he looks amazing! Holy freaking shmokes, this is so amazing!!! I love the snakes and how they slowly take control over all the sides. Roman, the first line of defence, is taken down first and he quickly joins Deceit (loved the puppet strings btw), leaving his family open and relatively unprotected. Then Patton is taken to get Thomas on board with Deceit's actions, bc the right brain sides are the loudest and most enthusiastic, so they can easily hype Thomas up and make him get along with what they want. By now Lo and Virge realise something bad is going on, and Virgil steps in to protect his friend! I was thrilled for a sec bc, heck yeah! He can fight back!! :D AND FREAKING THEN ONE OF THE SNEKS SNEAKED UP ON LOGAN!! Omg, that moment is my favourite! Virgil's panic is so real and the way Logan collapsed stopped my heart, only for it to beat at three times the normal speed when he came back up with yellow eyes and that twisted smile!! The moment where they all close in on Virgil as he flees was really cool too! My heart was legit racing! And Virgil's dark flame powers looked really nice overall!!
This actually makes a lot of sence when you consider the fact that we know Virgil used to be a dark side. He WOULD know how to fight back and you can also SEE his guilt as the other sides get turned..... Gawd this is so good and it hurts my soul.

My theory is that Patton will be easiest to break out of this whole "trance". This is because he's morality, and Deceit is literally his opposite. That Means anything Deceit does, Patton is combating with equal force. The others might not be as strong as Deceit and are only able to combat their own darkness. So, Patton would escape Deceit's grasp first, with the help of Virgil. I don't feel like this would play out like BMC, but that's my opinion. Then, with Deceit distracted with Patton, Virgil could attempt to break Logan and Roman out of their hypnosis. Thomas is sort of sweating between dark and light, with some sides telling him dark, others light. But Once Logan's out, it's basically over. Logan always states facts, and the fact is, the dark sides were trying to take control. He's Talking to Thomas, and Virgil has moved onto Roman. He's The most difficult to break, as Roman has a lot of sway over Thomas. Once he does, it's four against three (going on the whole Virgil was a dark side). Thomas is staying out of this, exhausted from so much internal conflict. Deceit and his crew put up a fight, and they would have won if Virgil wasn't there. Each side is fighting their opposite, and Virgil is helping each side by slowing breaking each dark side down.
The dark sides surrender, and Patton, Virgil, Roman, Logan, and Thomas all go back to the main part of the mindscape. Thomas leaves, and the others all collapse in a freakin heap on the couch lol
But hey, that's just a theory, a VIDEO THEORY.

I've rewatched this video so many times now, and I love every detail you put into it, like how each of the snakes that infected the sides had a specific eye color that matched their target, and how at the end you have one curled around the feet of only the infected sides, not Deceit or Thomas. I just really love your animatic. 😂😂

I saw this animatic a long time ago and...I didn't know where the song came from. Didn't bother to look too. But yesterday I watched Be more Chill and man! I should have looked for it before.
