This is not the Vizio 2.0 bar… but it doesn’t even have a HDMI on the back of it… it came with one cord which has a red and a yellow end
Had the same thought issue with the 2.0. Just fixed it; turn tv speakers off then press the second button on the soundbar, hold down for a few seconds then release and it will turn green.

I see you're connecting the HDMI cable to the "HDMI in" port on the soundbar. Shouldn't it be to the eArc on the soundbar?

Depends. HDMI In will give you the best sound available that your soundbar has, it's just a different way of connecting to get the best sound. It's important for HDMI 2.0-based soundbars as ARC doesn't allow for lossless audio, only lossy like Dolby Digital, DTS, and Dolby Digital Plus. eARC is for HDMI 2.1 and will give you the same results as HDMI In audio-wise, but the picture is going through the TV and not the soundbar.
I will also note that even though there are pros to using eARC, there are also downsides like many people getting audio lag for Atmos content, while HDMI In is less prone to it. And there are very few systems that support gaming features, like VRR, 4K 120fps. Right now, eARC doesn't have a humongous advantage. Lastly, eARC doesn't need to be HDMI 2.1, but that's when issues arise. Oh, and yeah he does awkwardly place the HDMI cable from the TV's ARC input to HDMI In on the soundbar in the video, which is incorrect.
But, if you flip the bar upside-down to mount it, won't that make the left channel's sound come out of the right and vice-versa for the left side?
Yeah, flipping it upside-down might mix up the left and right audio channels. You'd wanna keep it right-side up to make sure everything matches up sound-wise.

Is vizio not compatible with insignia? I can not get it to work 🙄

I used to use the Vizio TV remote to control the sound bar without using the soundbar remote. Then my wife bought me a beautiful lighted night light that you use a separate remote to control that. That's when it over rode the TV remote volume control, and now I have to use the soundbar remote to control the volume. Which means that now I have to use two separate remotes to switch the channels and the volumes. How do I fix it so that I'm using only one remote for both? Thank You.

Hi i have been trying to get this 2.0 vizio sound bar to work with my tv for a week im just confused with this whole thing so i have an old seiko tv 8 to 10 years old it has hdmI on the back it also has audio out many different things but the tv menu for audio doesn't have a way to change many of the settings that seem to be required for this sound bar can you help? Since your Seiko TV is on the older side, HDMI might not support ARC, which is what usually lets the TV control the soundbar.
Here's a quick thing you could try: connect your soundbar to the TV using the "Audio Out" port on your TV. If it's an optical port, use an optical cable. If not, you might have a regular 3.5mm audio out; then you’d just need a cable that fits.
After hookin’ it up, go into the TV’s audio menu and turn off the TV speakers, that way it’ll try sending audio to the external speaker-your soundbar in this case.

My small speaker that came with it doesn’t have any sound

Bought a Vizio new 0807 model 50in 4k TV and bought an optical output only soundbar, turns out the exact fucking tv model I bought doesn't have one, it doesn't have anything but 3 HDMI ports, and so I have to return without a box, a fucking soundbar because Vizio TV's are utter BS and don't include any other way but to funnel the sound through one of the only remaining HDMI ports, God forbid you have a game system that needs hooking up too, not a soundbar problem but a TV that advertised it was optical ready and then put in tiny letters that it might vary between models on a completely other side of the box, is complete BS I never thought I'd need to start taking them out of the box to see if it's actually the model displayed on the box istg
Maybe you could try an HDMI ARC audio extractor. It can split the audio to an optical output from one of your HDMI ports. That way, you won't have to return the soundbar. Just check to make sure the extractor supports 4K if that’s what you’re going for.
