I was one of these people that didnt believe it at first becuase I've had two diffrent roku TV's and could never get any other soundbar to work with it other then a roku soundbar. It would have sound while on the roku home page but in apps there wouldn't be any sound, I just bought my vizio soundbar yesterday and tried to hook it up to my Hisense Roku tv and it didnt work. I was gonna return it today but I thought I'd give it another try and BOOM! After I watched this video I plugged in the optical cord and help the power for 5 sec and now it works on all apps!!!! Thank you so much

I think the trick did it when I actually turned on a show and then clicked the Input button to allow it to then search for the connected speaker and it started working! Prior to that, it was on Bluetooth and just spinning and spinning (the LED lights were searching and searching but I think the problem was I wasn’t in a video! 🤦🏻♀️) So thanks again because now we are golden!

Idaho Panhandle near Canada so i reprogrammed the TV'S you see I haven't watched Commercial TV since 1989 so all I used the cable for was internet via Chromecast's so i grabbed my optical cable and went through this video and Shazam lol 😃 now I use the TV cable for music 🎶 on digital playing loud n proud on my $25 Vizio sound bar Thank You
Nice, this helped me out after picking up a hand-me-down. Weird thing though is the audio does not want to play whenever the optical cable is plugged all the way in on both ends. I have to leave one end plugged in loosely. 🤔

Good video. Mine will say "hdmi". I also had to go into Amazon Firestick and choose settings for a soundbar. When I was finished with all the steps, the sound only came from the TV. Could it be a bad hdmi cord> that was my son's guess.
Great video sounds dumb but my audio cord wasn’t pushed in far enough. Found out that you can check that by the red light that comes out the tip when it’s connected
Hello, I have the same exact soundbar, I recently bought a new TV and it does not have an optical or ARC port it only has HDMI(eARC) so I'm wondering how to go about connecting the soundbar to my new TV??? Any ideas?
If you use the optical audio cable, make sure you are in PCM audio. On your tv, in the audio section of the tv's setup, PCM will be one of the kinds audio to choose from. The list includes Dolby, ATMOS, and such. Without being in the PCM mode, the optical audio cable will make your picture & sound be out of synch. And you will not have control of the bass & treble. Mine had the bass booming to an absurd degree. Almost like if a program showed an ant marching by and each of it's steps were a thunderous boom. Once I got it on PCM, things were fine. Sadly, the TCL tv brand demands that you buy a sound bar. I was hoping to learn about all the buttons on the remote. Alas, the Vizio website leaves us low & fro as does this video. I'm not a sense-around audio kinda guy, so my older, but same, version's audio is plenty good. I bought mine in 2018 at clearence for almost 50% off. It has the the same remote as in this video.
What should you do if the sound at keeps saying "connected"? A few days ago I actually heard my neighbors voice through my speaker.... It was really startling....

My TV doesn't have an optical output on the back. Not sure which audio ports to plug my RCA cable into. TV is a Westinghouse, but a little older model.

My vizio TV and sound bar is about 5 years old and I ended up getting Comcast and they send you this little black streaming box with my Wi-Fi service because I use an antenna for TV. But when I got it all hooked up the sound bar stopped playing anything out of it which the light didn't even go on to sound bar. So just recently I was going through some audio settings on the TV I think and switching the digital audio out and an analog audio out and all of a sudden the sound bar light came on and it started playing. And then within a couple minutes of course the Comcast box pops up on the TV that it has a update so I went ahead and let the update go through that it seems to be on every day it shows and then the video stopped working again. You have any recommendations? I just have the Stream box hooked to HDMI to the TV and then I have the optical cord that I bought and that goes from the soundbar to the TV because my last one I thought was broke when it stopped working so I was trying to use RCA's but nothing worked so I went and bought a new optical cord the other day
Just purchased a Vizio 5.1 & was using the speaker connected to my bluetooth for my phone & it just randomly stopped & disconnected & now it wont connect anymore to anyone's bluetooth

with a firestick you go into settings and manage equipment, Roku should be similar

I went through all the steps and it’s still not working. I have it plugged from the aux on the sound bar into the RCA connectors
