The enormous amount of music that exists in this man’s head is truly astounding. Just learning all the functions of countless pedals is jaw dropping. Andy could had been a brain surgeon or an Astro physicist. Bravo Andy, keep up the amazing work.
This seems like a great pedal but tbh sometimes I just watch these to hear you play regardless of the effect. Man... Andy, you are loved. Keep rockin bro!
I quit using effects when I sold my ART SGX in 1992. But then I saw some videos from Pro guitar shop (Andy) about a decade ago and I was back on board (pun intended). Really appreciate your work Andy, helps me a ton no matter what band I’m playing in.
Best demo of the Collider, hands down. This should be the first video people see for the Collider. If this weren't already my next pedal or if I were waffling, this would seal the deal. Sub'd
This is "THE" compact delay+reverb pedal. Even if I move to more complex setups (like an Eventide H90) I will maintain it to a "B" compact pedalboard. Fantastic real state economy and sound quality!
Wow this is an incredible pedal. I have a GFI Specular Tempus, probably the best competitor to this pedal. I was thinking about getting a 2nd GFI Specular Tempus, but now I want this. The possibilities will be endless with a Collider -> GFI Specular Tempus, imagine that.
@@Micah_s most definitely. The size, top mounted I/O, large screen, amazing reverb/delay algorithms, firmware updates to add more algorithms, MIDI, FX loop, infinite auto swell mode, and 32 presets. The only 2 issues with it is = 1 DSP and no MIDI thru, just MIDI in which means you need to place it last in MIDI chain or use a MIDI splitter. Collider cons = no screen to tell you the tempo, only 4 presets, side mounted I/O, slightly larger, no FX loop and not as many algorithms as GFI. So having both will give you the best of both worlds and 4 delay+reverb combinations! If you stick the Collider in the GFI's FX loop, it'll be ambient esoteric stereo heaven! Can't wait to sell my outdated TC Nova Delay and buy a Collider.
Intro song reminded me a lot of Pernice Brothers. I have the Ventris which is amazing, but I might need to switch it out for this. I wonder if you can access any other reverb algorithms in the app, like Lo Fi?
A lot of people think that this is expensive. Tbh if you want a reverb pedal and a delay pedal that you'll not throw away for upgrading you'll probably spend the amount equal to collider's cost. Why not just get this and call it a day. This is the industry standard sound.
Great Demo, Andy! Does the spring revenue have that same drip? Also can you access the missing presets from the other pedals in the software? Thanks in advance!
I was going to buy a Source Audio Nemesis and Ventris for a small build I want to use. This’ll be perfect instead. Andy I own a Suhr Classic S Metallic like yours, but mine is Lake Placid Blue. What colour is yours? Sherwood Green Metallic or Ocean Turquoise Metallic?
Purchased this to replace modified tc nova delay and EHX Cathedral, much improved upgrade - though both of those pedals had merit. I am looking for midi remote now - allows expansion in presets - and it fixes this pedals only fault with is the location of the foot switches too closely to the knobs
It’s been a while since I compared but the “True Spring” algorithms are the same between the two pedals. However there are two more spring algorithms (Outboard and Tank) in the True pedal and it includes tremolo. So, more spring options in the True Spring pedal. Good question!
You can choose which you want last. You can run delay into reverb, or reverb into delay, or you can run them parallel. There is no “the right way”, whatever gives you the sound that you want. By the way, you can also do all of these setups I mentioned on the Collider itself (without using an dedicated delay pedal). This is an amazing pedal.
That opening tune gave echoes (sorry) of Cutting Crew. Brilliant playing and phenomenal 80's tones . Oh, and a Collider will be arriving within 5 days. You should get a commission.😉
Avalanche Run has a way better reverse, probably up there with the Danelectro Backtalk and EHX MM Hazarai as the three modern classics of reverse reverb- plus the obvious sonic differences. there is objectively more variation but it’s all a sonic color palette 🤷🏽♂️
🙏 thanks Andy, you are just great!! I also thought about some music from a movie I can’t remember… I hope you don’t mind when I steal this one 😉 Tons of fun, keep on doing your thing!!
The light on my delay button blinks instead of staying solid green. I did a factory reset but the issue is still there. Anyone know what might be wrong?
Yes! It has analog dry-thru (unlike the Nemesis delay and earlier One Series pedals). You can use two amps w/your ABY for stereo or wet/dry, or add a third amp for W/D/W. I have a Nemesis, Gemini, and Vertigo and while i really love the sounds, it's mono, stereo, but no W/D. No dry-thru. I wish they'd made those other pedals with a dry-thru path...
I'm guessing this is superior to the Fender Reflecting Pool, but I'd love to see a comparison demonstrating what you get for the extra money, and what you give up with the Fender. Also, AWESOME review as always!
Great Video, thanks. Source Audio calculates with its devices with 24 Bit 48KHz. Nemesis etc. but Collider have two 56 Bit signal processors, thats great!
Hmm. It’s 2021 i’m still using a reverb unit operating at... 18bit. I figured the longer i’d wait to upgrade, the better the quality would be when i did. Aside from being closer to 8-bit than 56, i’m a bit surprised that in all this time there are so many fx pedals (even by quality builders like keeley), and give you a stereo output but only a mono in. Just creates forks & dead ends all over my plans. Gonna try a SA instead.
Tony, I have Timeline and Bigsky on a MIDI rig, this is a great pedal - but Strymon is VERY awesome and MILES past them with their MIDI implimentation.
Reverse delay let's me know that the human brain hasn't been fully developed yet. Like... why? What tf is wrong with you people? Reverse delay has never ever sounded good under any circumstances.
3 comments you’ve left here. If you don’t like it, move on. To demo the sounds of reverb and delay, sometime I play with them wetter than normal so you can hear the nuances/tone of these modes.
I've been watching reverb delay combo demos since this morning and they all suck. Who tf plays with all their effects full wet? We get it. Its drippy and ambient. Now turn the blend down and let me here how much people would use it.

wow, they hit a home run on this one. this might be the ultimate reverb/delay combo pedal.
Seriously - I'd rather listen to Andy's demos than any of the popular music out there these days. Really great stuff!
these damn kids these days with their hippity hop and boom boom boxes!!!!
I have Source Audio’s Ventris and it is hands down the best reverb out there.
Sweet sounding reverb and delay.
That last tune Andy played is a real beauty!! Very nice
This seems like a great pedal but tbh sometimes I just watch these to hear you play regardless of the effect. Man... Andy, you are loved. Keep rockin bro!
The Source Audio Nemesis is my favorite pedal....been saving for the Ventris but might snag this instead!!!
such tasteful playing... inspiring in and of itself... and demonstrates the pedal to great effect
A great demo that shows off the variety of sounds this pedal can get.

This is a great pedal, but I'm more excited to see Andy again ! Hello Andy !
Sold!. Thank your for the great review Andy! as always.
Think this one could end up on a lot of boards. Seriously good sounds on headphones yet simple to use. Nice demo from Andy too. Creative sounds here.

You sound awesome. really creative.
They missed their chance to call it the Ventresis! Bummer. Sounds amazing though (in no small part because: Andy).
Nice ! You have your own channel now. I’m a subscriber now 🤟🏻
where were you when you first heard Andy NOT say, “with Pro Guitar Shop”
Anybody want to buy my Volante and True Spring?
How much for the Volante?
The first track reminds me of Rome Void's "A girl in trouble"?
Great Demo, Andy! Does the spring revenue have that same drip? Also can you access the missing presets from the other pedals in the software? Thanks in advance!

can we make an hold delay if we let put on the delay ?
in the same way hold and freeze if we let pushed the two switch ?

Yes, the Collider can receive MIDI clock data.

Good demo but too much effect for me. I wonder if you can turn up the dry mix way more and have the effects more secondary to the natural guitar tone.
tree fitty
I still don't understand how stereo works with guitar pedals. It's ONE GUITAR!!!!! What is there to stereo????!!!!!
For example some delays can ping pong from Ieft to right. Same for pan-tremolo... so many features. You do have to try!
Amplifiers? You know lots of people use two amplifiers, right? Especially when recording.
