    • @thepedalzone
      @thepedalzone  11 месяцев назад +2

      Yeah, I’m usually not that into shimmer, but this one is really good. And the fact that you can stack it with the other algorithms open up for a lot of cool sound designs and ways to tailor the shimmer further

    I've just gone midi on my board and the collider is now even better than before. You can set up the reverb freeze as a button, making it easy to access. It means I could sell my dedicated TC Electronics Infinite and use the Collider instead. It just keeps giving. Plus the new online editor is epic and has been crucial in helping me get the routing right for my stereo board. Big Collider fan-boy over here

    I just want to add that the Neuro app has been a real grand slam for me. This editor is so amazing, it let's you unleash so much potential you wouldn't believe. I have their Ventris reverb which is totally gorgeous, Nemesis delay and the EQ2. I can tweak and program them altogether in such an efficient and beautiful way. The pedals have also a lot more great features under the hood to dive in when you use the app. And since the audio quality is so consistent, you just can't resist these pedals. It's a shame they are so underrated and off the radar, the reason i guess it took me just too long to get to them. Ventris was the last of all the midi stereo reverb available i tried ! And finally, there was my solution. Stefan, you once again created a beautiful vid where the pedal expresses itself trough you. I tell myself i can achieve the same with my Ventris and Nemesis or else, i would have to get a Collider. Thanks again !

    Besonders großartig ist die Neuro-Community. Du kannst deine Presets für andere Personen online zur Verfügung stellen und Presets anderer Personen nutzen. Die werden untereinander auch geranked. Einige Preset, die von anderen User*innen gestaltet wurden, sind der Hammer. Dies ist gerade auch für Leute interessant, die wenig Zeit und/oder keinen Plan haben. Die SA Pedale in Kombination mit der NeuroApp sind deshalb allein schon der Knaller!

    I'm laid on my couch, and I'm a little baked, for pain reasons, but nevertheless just chillin listening to music, once you started dabblingbin the delay and e dome settings I was drifting away nicely, as a huge fan of ambient, that was hauntingly beautiful. You have 150% sold me on buying this pedal. I actually wanted it as an accompaniment for a Boss SY200 synth pedal. Because I want to recreate the phatt synth pad that goes with the bassline under the solo of Comfortably Numb, as I play it live in my Duo. But this will definitely find a place in my studio for guitars.

    This pedal is worth buying just for the E-Dome mode alone. Amazingly beautiful sounding reverb. After I heard it, I thought: Why the hell is everyone obsessed with BigSky? Collider sounds cleaner and more spacious!
    Collider stand in end of my ambient pedalboard: after loopers, modulations, several reverbs, delays and a preamp. And it turns any audio material into a divine choir. Although essentially I use one E-dome + Analog Delay preset. But even within one preset there is a whole abyss of sound.
    But one cannot fail to note the disadvantages. I can't seem to figure out how to tap-tempo on this pedal. He's too sensitive. It's very difficult to set the right tempo. There is also a problem with the application on the laptop. Every time I connect the pedal to my laptop and turn on the Neuro, my presets are reset and I have to configure them again.
    Thank God that for the third time I saved all the presets and now I’m loading them from the cloud. Also, the shimmer mode is not the most beautiful in my opinion. After the shimmer in GFI Skylar, I don't want to listen to any other shimmer.
    Still, this is the most fantastic sounding pedal I've ever owned.
    Stefan, thank you. As always, you play not only the guitar but also the strings of my soul.

      You can set the tap tempo latch time in the app, but it's still kind of funky. I bought the separate switch for tap tempo, then set up the pedal footswitches to move left and right through the presets. I like the overall setup better that way and the tap tempo works great now.

    That said, the Source algo is plenty good enough for me given the price to performance ratio on this pedal, so i opted for the Collider. I dont use much past the regular sounds and delay and verb are my only effects next to od, so it's perfect for my small pedalboard.

    One thing I really love about the Collider is that it can be a dual reverb or dual delay engine and it can do anything from "simple" spring or plate style reverb sounds of the 50s and 60s, Edge or classic Gilmour type stacked delay sounds, but also freakishly big stereo spaces and has expression control.
    Considering the prices of buying a dual reverb or a dual delay pedal, it's actually one of the cheapest time-based effects units in terms of the power and options it offers.
    I liked the synth jam, could you upload the preset in the cloud, Stefan?

    • @thepedalzone
      @thepedalzone  11 месяцев назад +3

      Depends on what delay algorithms you find interesting in Nemesis. Nemesis has some really cool pitch delays (Shifter and Helix) plus a super rad and advanced rhythmic multi-tap algorithm. Plus you get access to a ton of more algorithms via the editor. You don't get that with Collider. But what you can do on Collider is use two delay algorithms at the same. You can't do that with Nemesis since it's not Dual DSP like Ventris and Collider. So it all comes down to what kind of sounds you're after. If you're just after classic delays a la digital, tape, reverse and analog, then Collider will be more than enough for ya.

That blinks when you hit the setting you had the knobs at. If you prefer a split view of the controls for each side of the pedal, then you can always hook it up to the editor as you tweak, since that will show dedicated controls for the delay and reverb side, and then you can just store it as a preset, and then you don't have to worry about fiddling with controls after that :)

      It's actually way less overwhelming than you would think. It's super intuitive, and really well voiced. I like to explore pedals, but if exploring is made difficult by the designer, then I'm gone. This one was a blast to explore 😊

    I think the only thing I wish it had was a way to toggle presets with my foot. lol.

    I miss mine. I had one a few years ago, and it started having issues randomly dropping volume and tone. I found that if I slightly tapped any knob, it would come back to normal, but it kept doing it at random while playing. I tried updating it, didnt fix it.
    I'd like to get another one.

      @thepedalzone  7 месяцев назад

      Thank you very much! Gosh, those two products are worlds apart, in my opinion. Sure, they are both delay/reverb pedals, but their sonic aim is very different. Parallax if you want a dead-simple one-stop Shoegaze solution. Collider if you want an ultra tweakable and hi-fi multi-mode reverb/delay with all the trimmings.

    Thanks Stefan. After seeing this, I went out and purchased this. A couple issues. It does not seem to work well in an effect loop. But maybe I just don’t have the right amp. Sound quality also seems to be very dependent on the pickups of the guitar. Also, the dotted eighth delay does not work. It just creates a straight delay. Other things I’m still trying to figure out. On the plus side it sounds great when dialed in and going straight into the input of a clean amp.

    I'm really into this pedal. but does it need updates to keep working in the future? is this a pedal that works for 20-30 years? sorry maybe it's a stupid lame question. I'm a vintage rack guy

    • @thepedalzone
      @thepedalzone  6 месяцев назад

      Can't see why this pedal wouldn't be future proof. Source Audio do sometimes make firmware updates, but it's not something you have to install to keep the pedal working as intended. The only place where I could see a feature be less future proof is in the pedal's integration with the phone app to create and transfer custom/community presets, since the innovation on the phone side of things is so rapid. So that could cause compliance issues in the future, but it's not a feature you have to use at all to get the most out of the pedal.

    • @thepedalzone
      @thepedalzone  7 месяцев назад +1

      I'm not the right one to ask that question, since I don't really dabble in that genre. I know that people who are into that genre can really go into the sonic details of a slapback. To me, this thing does great slapbacks in Tape and Analog mode. If they are great for rockabilly, I have no idea. I'm sure you can find demos out there demonstrating it. It's an older pedal, so there's a lot of great demos out there. I just stick to the sounds here that inspire me, and that's typically the transcending tones :)

    • @thepedalzone
      @thepedalzone  11 месяцев назад

      Thank you! There's a bunch of factors that go into answering that question. Both are great pedals. Which one is right for you all depends on your context and needs. If you like to keep things really simple, then Avalanche Run is the better option. If you want a host of algorithms and deeper tweakability + routing options, then it's Collider all day.

      Halo is a fantastic pedal. I'd be more curious of thoughts/preference of this vs a specular tempus

    • @thepedalzone
      @thepedalzone  11 месяцев назад +2

      Well, it would be a slightly odd comparison. Yes, they both do delay effects, but their individual sonic aims are so different. Halo specifically aims at nailing the organic reverberation that happens when two tape-style delays cascade into each other. You can of course also do that with Collider, but Collider's aim is much wider and much more utilitarian since its there to offer a multi-mode delay and reverb solution. Both are phenomenal pedals. It all comes down to your needs and context as a musician. If you need a really wide palate of delay and reverb sounds, then Collider is probably the better fit for you. If you want a pedal that instantly delivers gorgeous atmospheric echoes straight out of the box, then Halo is what you're after.
