If only the flood was registered as an actual disaster so you could see who died
Ahhh yes...
The beautiful view of the polluted water outside, the sound of the train passing by, and the sky filled with industrial smoke...
Paradise
Sounds like Michigan in the 70s!
Sooo, London from the 1890s mixed with detroit?
Ever been to the isle of Sheppey?
Next Episode : 3 Meteors, Godzilla, King Kong and an alien invasion...Stay tuned.
ntspang if there werde gorilla and king Kong and an alien invasion it would be really nice 😂
ntspang Lol!!!
Well well well. I came home from work, and my son had bought the basic Cities Skylines from Steam. I mentioned you had a series, and he was like 'Wow! Natural Disasters...' and then you release this. He really liked what he saw, and I even bought a copy of the Deluxe (as it has a Linux version). So now this series will have 2 new viewers. And he agrees with me, you keep so cool when all around you, your hard work is being destroyed.
Hi to you both! Glad you enjoyed the video and good luck with your own city too! Hope you don't see too many Meteors! :-)
u know roads can go over train tracks
they just have to be almost straight on to each other at least
ZaX XoN 4
Update from your son and your gameplay?
An amazing rescue attempt by helicopter. That was some flying!
+June Vollans he deserves an OBE!! ;-)
This is the greatest plan
I love when the just dip into the water mid disaster
Something similar happened to me, I was busy demolishing all my old water towers I had up on the mountain next to the river, next to the dam. I clicked demolish and accidentally destroyed the dam. The water rushed down and completely swept over the flood walls I had installed at the outskirts of my city. The water rushed through the city, destroying everything. I used to have 23k people in my city, after the disaster I only had 1,800 people and I was under negative money. But the biggest rule in cities skylines is.......ALWAYS KEEP SAVE FILES.
@16:00 that was the laugh I needed in 2020.
THATS EXACTLY WHAT IWANT TO SEE!! at least every 2-3episodes a disaster that does a bit or EXTREME damage and then rebuilding and fotifying 1-2 episodes to then be ready for more BOOOMS!! LOVE IT!!!(subscribed for that! :D )
\o/ thanks for the sub & welcome to the channel :-)
Biffa: Strategy, Survival & Indie Games thanks :)
me tooo ;) but that luck a meteor hits the damm and a tsunami cames out :-)
Benjamien Mitschke i think that was scripted or the targiting AI targets damms and important buildings.. :)
sharptile no only in scenarios thing are scripted. And the map ALREADY had a dam so only the dam was scripted
The best thing would have been to immediately rebuild the dam, before the water even moved
13:52
Thanks to the flu I've got, that bit sent me into a 15 minute hacking fit from how hard I laughed XD
That meteor seemed targeted. I suspect bugs!
I suspect Illuminati!

¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨
Or perhaps the game is programmed to aim meteors at certain structures
It occurred to me that you guys might think I was being mean. I was using quotes from Starship Troopers. There were many funny lines in that movie :)
tubelarr the game AI targets most important stuff.
you guys realize that this is a scenario right?
its all scripted
It was the Illuminati.
Damn this watered down the party.
diego acosta your profile picture!!! 😂😂😂
i trought there was a fly in my screen LOL
biffa put canals at the side. of the tsunami wall thats leads out to the ocean so it will not flood your entire city
For a second I thought that the pollution off the coast was a beach:)lol
Dig VERY deep trenches after the wall that lead to the ocean, that should help any floods, for extra safety build more trenches and walls. that's only a tip! Also another tip, get some useful mods like the automatic bulldozer and stuff like that, it will sure help ;)
nobody plays SimCity anymore because of this DLC now, lol
XxTornadoJockeyxX lol
XxTornadoJockeyxX yeah lol!
XxTornadoJockeyxX nothing can beat SimCity but now it's boring because ea abounded it
Simcity is not good because of not making left turns
My friend refuses because this game doesn't have multiplayer. He also claims it's too complex...
out of all the places that meteor could have hit it had to hit the dam damn
Yeah its scripted to.
*damn dam
wisegamer dam I hate when that happens
Trump: We need to build a wall!
Meteor: No f*** you and your walls!
wisegamer that happend to me. Somehow litterly the center high density got hit by a tornado, a few game days after it got hip by a meteor and a day after by a earthquake twice. Am i just so unlucky or what
Quite often revisit this episode for a little light amusement.
biffa a good idea is to have little storm canals every now and then coming out from the wall and leading into the sea it really helps with flooding.
I was initially thinking same thing, but at sea level already for the most of the city. One thing that many places that are at or below water level is to excavate depressions and fit pumping systems into there. That way water collects in one place and rapidly drains out the rest of it. Often these are urban parks. I don't have the disaster mod, but if I was building in an area and flooding was a real threat, I would probably make areas like a donut with central depressions. At the rim of these would be pumps that are shut off with the excess drainage pipe deals downgrade from the rest of the populous. So should a flooding situation occur, flick the pumps on. The capacity of the depression doubling as a bit of a buffer as well.
Actually yeah that's a better idea
I was thinking to have the canal lower/higher than sea level so the water drops into the sea
You should build deep canals near the flood wall from top to bottom to make the water go straight down
One of the older cims, running down the street with his walker yelling "No, not again!!"
Also I would hate to be the guy who just finished his apt tower right as the water topped the dike.
:( not a good day.
Before the residential builds up again move it all to the left side of the city and keep industrial on the right.
Nice idea with the water trucks. Alas though, I think most of the water cleared out before they got there :-( I would probably just pan around and check the "ready for rebuilding" though, just in case any of them are special services stuff that might not auto rebuild?
9:53 meteorit
Smtma thanks
Thanks for the timestamp!
That helicopter was BOSS!!!! Under water helicopter!!! 😂😂😂
5:52Biffa tried to get the rail line through
Just kidding
It’s actually 4:15
You are exactly a politician , only take action when the disaster already happened ! LOL
your voice sounds like the radio in game: run, don't walk, grap it, money for nothing😂😂😂
10:30 I tried this scenario once doing the "underdog" achievement, taking out the dam with a meteor, Knowing what is coming, water supply would be the least of my worries...
If it's any consolation I wasnt prepared for it either.
Fire services in the budget panel is now called Emergency services, which also covers disaster response. Crank that up for more vehicles and helis :)
Cities seem to recover from disasters quite fast, though an influx of new people temporarily puts a strain on the roads.
BUT THE BIGGEST THING! BUY THIS! BUY THAT!!!!
Yeah spending more money but I guess it's what u needa do to beat it ye
if I were you and it hit the dam as soon as the explosion was over I'd pause and (if I had to take a loan) build another dam
also you should've evacuated
Mr.Boaz exactly what i thought
I think you should make the river deeper if you can
Wow that is a terrible disaster! One thing you can do is build canals behind the wall with pumps connected to them so that they can pump the water out if a tsunami happens to go above the wall. I saw one guy do it and it helped a lot but he also had a wall behind the canal as well...
You just pulled a New Orleans
use the sculpting tools to raise the walls
Nice idea but not possible :-(
Biffa: Strategy, Survival & Indie Games yes it is demolish the walls then raise the ground level why do you thing the robin district wall has a hump in it
Biffa, Nice simpsons joke!
sneaky last minute shelter
Got ads for Ebac dehumidifiers on this video. Silly youtube, I don't need them, the people of Karlsberg do!
kingofbengland lol
build a canal down the river and along the wall to help prevent flooding
I wish I could tell you something, but so far you're handling this with some efficiency. A little late IMHO, but there you go. The only thing I could suggest you is to get a sewage treatment plant, and to get those kinds of buildings near or in industrial zones. Look for drainage ditches and see how to place them on those vulnerable places that you noticed during the flood. Man, this was like seeing the New Orleans disaster all over again...
It reminded me more of the 2011 Japan Tsunami... was watching a newsfeed live back then when it came ashore....
Build canals, treat them like water enters them and will flow downstream, i.e., build the canals at the top of the hill below the dam like a T shape and guide it to the sea
lol I was yelling " build another dam hurry!"
7:40 HAPPY NEW YEAR 2019!!!!
the reason why the wall didn't work was because the dam would build up the water on the other side to the point where it's bigger than the wall and then when the think hit the build up water rushed in and made a Tsunami
You need a large radio tower and any other infrastructure that predicts disasters. I've noticed that all youtubers doing a natural disasters scenario underestimates how long it takes people to get to the shelters, and the radios really help. Other than that, whenever you are dealing with water disasters of any kind, you need the pumping stations, which you got.
“Oh crap, I forgot to hit the record button!”
That helicopter pilot must come from the SAS
Buy this thing, buy that thing!
wow. that is crazy. I really liked this video! What a setback.
You've created the flood zone map from battlefield 4
that was a well placed shot aliens a well placed shot
+Baby Seal lol :-)
this is what you get for not having enough shelters
If you increase the budget for fire services you are also increasing the budget for disaster response.
Watching this for the first time, should’ve dug a channel beside the wall for when it comes over and it leads to the ocean
the helicopters at 11:13 are search and rescue copters. Once they search the rubble for survivors, its ready for rebuilding or b-dozing
three loans at once!....use the large loan and pay off the others
There was only a little bit of water, sure it’s ok.
Update: it was not ok
It's new Orlands all over again
Fantastic episode. I had to purchase the dlc because of it.
You’re going to live beside the wall, what a great place to live! 🤣
I got an idea, when a disaster is going on, you can't rebuild until it is over.
+TheDarkShadow265 I do usually wait as I like to watch what's happening :-)
Oshit he responded
Dig down inside the river that way you have more room for water to flow through
did you know my dam has flooded before it was a killer
Looks like that meteor didn't like Mr.Trump's build the walls speech! Lol
Add radio Mists so they alert the people if you don't have one
Yep :-)
i love this game
Use canals to divert the water away from your city
14:16 just build Dam Asap what were u waiting for the water will keep flooding it will never stoo
Me again...This time you could've put an crossing on the railroad.
Sorry about your city.
Look on the bright side, your making money again.
Meteor is so destructive when it hits water
For sure! :-)
the buildings will rebuild themselves if there is demand for it (which there isnt right now since the disaster is still taking place)
only the manually placed buildings have the rebuild option (and you only pay a fraction of the cost rather than the full cost of the building)
the town is flooded just like call of duty ghosts
make it a doble dam?
THIS IS ART
Omg Yes! Your like the only person who build's areas and does disasters I love this channel New fav channel!
+BX StopMotionYT brilliant thankyou :-)
DAAAAAAAAMN! your making loaaaaaaaads of money!
Philippe Denis yeah, but his dam is gone.... at least right before he was rebuilding
Brilliant keep up the good work biffa
Can you play some more brick in the mall please! I really loved that!
0:36) well how did that turn out for ya
It added a lot of fun to the series :-)
ikr
Books can be deceiving.
if you think there is going to be another flood try to build more wall on top of the wall
tnt lighter it doesn't work because it says the location is blocked by another building
What are these Helicopters made of?
aftermath looks like Detroit
Pumps will drain the water from the map.
You should build new areas uphill from the areas that are flooded.
I would say try to raise the walls if you can.
Trump:We need to build a wall!
Meteor:No! F*** you and your walls!
This made me so happy. I kinda like that you can see SO MUCH crime, everyone is going on a looting spree, it's quite realistic.
The disasters in this scenario are scripted regardless of settings. The meteor strike you see in this video, is devastating no matter how much precautions you take. I had 2 deep canals running from a point near the dam, elevated land on both sides of the river, then fortified that with flood walls on top, and even after all that, still lost 4000 citizens and had to take out the 200k loan to stave of bankruptcy until after recovery. The closest I’ve been able to get with this set up is 57,000 population at the 300 week mark. 8000 short of success.
He should have deleted the flood walls build a levee and then place the walls on top of the levee. A levee is just a wall made of dirt.
YOu know, had you consideably deepened the river bed, all that water would have had somewhere to go.
So now you don't have any river^^
I want the city blown up that would be awesome
0:13 I’m pretty sure that the first thing we we’re looking at
BUY THIS! OR... BUY THAT!!
Build all emergency and rescue devices on high ground.
I'm disappointed in the lack of funny comments about the submarine helicopter.
LMAO 🤣 that heli
lol Brilliant this series is awsome! keep it up
