So few pointers...never build industry next to your residential areas it makes all the citizens sick due to ground pollution, hence so many sick citizens in your city...replace all of your dump yards with incinerators, try to create public transport system, it reduces amount of cars on streets hence allowing service vehicles to reach their destinations quickly...also it increases demand for all zones
Yes biffa
Biffa, fire watch towers DO NOT extinguish fire they only spot them. To extinguish the forest fires you'll need fire helicopters ;-)
I know :-)
in new zealand we have 3 hydro dams in a row
17:17) when you think its the weekend but its only thursday
Dam is not connected to the power grid!!
dude put canals beside your walls that lead out of the city and into the ocean
and also put parks all around the city to raise land value which means more people wich means more money and more money means you can expand easier
yes you hes a paint
you could add the auto delete abandon building mod and did you try to connect the dam to the electricity system ? its maybe not producng power cause the power go nowhere
:-)
CodTerraCraft That's not how dams work.
yesit is
I don't think he can apply mods
Biff with the dam the reason it's not producing power is because you haven't opened the flood gates
I looked about 100 times to see if there was an on switch and it was on...I don't know! :-)
for the dam to produce energy the water level has to reach the edge almost at the top of the dam, you just have to wait for it to fill up or lower the dam itself.
Biffa: Strategy, Survival & Indie Games I don't know if you figured it out in a later episode, but the dam needs to be lower down, the water is not high enough, but it is up to the source so it won't Rais anymore.
@@BiffaPlaysCitiesSkylines i know you will probably not look at this. But the reason dam isnt producing power is most probably because your pumps are taking too much water from behind the dam and thus the dam doesnt have enough water to even start.
few episodes ago you were wondering why there is so little water in the river, and since than you added even more water pumping stations.
you raised the ground by the dam
I like how when the meteorite came again he is like "aw.. what..."
:-)
3 years old... wow
Try building some deep canals in case of another flood especially on the inside of the walls
You can see collapsed service buildings in the service info views, where they show as inactive (black instead of purple). Would be of course nice if the icon was a bit more distinctive.
San Marcos Texas has a few dams, plus one 3-tier dam called the Rio Vista Dam
You should put tons of trees on the mountains so the forest fires are realistic and are hard to put out, like a real forest fire. You can copy and paste an amount of trees with the move it mod so you can do it quickly.
just to tell you there is 99% chance that a tsunami will hit your city since I don't think they put a ocean for looks so place tsunami buoys to be prepared for one just a tip
YIKES! :-)
Really late comment but I just found your channel a few days ago and loving this series lol
Welcome and thank you 😁
You should put a deep canal in the riverbed, to help drainage.
There only 10 per cell
Nice idea, thanks :-)
the dam isn't making power because it neds to store water first
Noah_ PT it needs the water to be higher not store it
I could be wrong but I think he has it facing the wrong way is why it isn't working
Will check that :-)
Meme Machine i wanted to say that
Noah_ PT it need power cables to transfer power to the city
i love you video +Biffa:Strategy, survival & Indie Games
Thank you PaletaDelujo 23 :-)
the budget for shelters and disasters centers are the emergency servieces
Romania has 14 dams on the same river within 10 miles of each other, the river goes through a city
+N1CK interesting :-)
Pollution lowers your land value which makes citizens leave and that’s why you have a lot of abandoned buildings. Try and do dedicated zoning areas.
1 the watch towers range are affected by the moutians
2 do a recycling policy for the whole city
Good idea :-)
the water has stopped in the river this is a great oppertunitie cause you build there and build a flood wal in front of the dam
I love watching this series! well done biffa and keep up the great work!
Biffa should have made Batman industry in Robin Residential and commercial
I think that 12 is the highest you can set the taxes for all buildings before they complain.
Doing a bit of a search, i think you need to move your dam back slightly as it seems to work on the difference in height between the 2 water levels. When you rebuilt it i think you built it slightly further forward in hopes of more power - which then causes it to break with how the game processes the dams.
looking at the end of the level, it may be that the bottom of the dam is above the level of the water in front, so it will not let any water out...
Though, whilst there is no water flow, you may want to try adjusting the walls or alter the flood plane/river bed...
The empty plot of land does rebuild faster if the demand for the zone is relatively high
Make sure you add more large emergency shelters the higher population the more you need in case of a major disaster.
Don’t put industrial near any other zone. Cause it causes unhappiness and can make people sick from the pollution!
You shouldn't put the flood walls so close together, but farther apart so that the water has more room to spread out and won't be at such a high level
Your videos are the best, they always made my day
Enjoying all your content. Hooked on Cities: Skyline, all series. 💯✔
Thank you Papa Cheese :-)
Dig soil under damn then your wall will protect your city because the lvl of water can’t rich the wall lvl , instead of leveling up leveling down and dige after damn
Great episode, as usual. I'm wondering if it wouldn't be good to lower the river below the dam not only to let the dam start working the way it should but also to give a deeper channel for any tidal wave types of disasters a deeper place to run. I know the cost would be high but it might be worth spending some at a time and gradually getting it done.
Yeah nice idea :-)
The dam isn't operating because the water is going down the other side of the mountain
you should put canals with the walls so that you have extra protection.
Heh, it was kinda amusing to watch you desperately trying to empty out landfills...never realizing that in doing that you were making your trash problem worse because they could only empty to other landfills.
You've learned better since then, haha!
wow I always wait for a new videos from you 😄
Thank you sarjan Shah :-)
Biffa, now that the the dam disaster is over turn off the fast recovery policy on Batman & Robin so that you can save survivors and make rubbles rebuild :D
U could add a deep canal on either side to contain the water in case of a flood
I believe you should keep rubble because it returns to its previous level, not level 1. Also to make the dam work you have to let the water flow away at the bottom of the dam.
+S Movies rubble will regrow when demand grows, abandoned ones need to go :-)
Biffa: Strategy, Survival & Indie Games I know, but when it regrows it goes back to its previous level.
biffa if you use the landscaping tool to lower the ground in the river bed, then it will take longer and more water to get over the wall!
Ok :-)
Ha ha I am everywhere on this channel lol
you should make the batman district in the shape of a bat
Ha! :-)
We should call the metiorite big Mama
Cape Town has 5 earth filled dams (natural dams)
Tennessee doesn't have dams because we don't like floods I think.
:-)
There's a policy that will make searched rubble areas redevelop quicker. I don't know if you've activated it yet though.
I have yes :-)
Your dam won't work because it isn't connected to the power grid.
Biffa you need to build a road on the dam to work, on top of the dam is a epad you just haveto connect it
the city I live in, Columbus OH, has 6 dams on our bit of the Scioto River. granted, none of them are hydroelectric
There is a buiding which sends water-pumping-trucks to pump the water in the city away
Eyyub Yilmaz he built one
I know this is late. you want a city with 2 dams Austin tx we have mansfeild that makes lake travis then we have tom miller dam holding lake Austin then we have Longhorn Dam to hold Lady bird Lake. some say that mansfeild is not in Austin but it is part of the greater Austin area
Day behind on my videos. This is a start of video comment so sorry if I missed a later in vid followup. Skylines no longer needs deleting abandoned buildings. They will be reinhabited if demand. The drawback though is abandoned buildings lower land value, is why many people delete them. But that said, lower land value won't stop people moving in if there is demand. I have been doing that in my current city. I had a large abandonment due to an issue, got demand up and they all got taken over.
+MarkusReese they only reinhabit rubble that's ready to rebuild, not abandoned buildings :-)
Unless it has been changed from the non disasters version, should still work. I overbuild an industrial area during my afterdark/winter play in my current city. Result was a mass abandon from lack of workers. Didn't bulldoze a building. Bulldozing does get the area rebuilt quicker plus as you pointed out, the land value.
Get the fire helicopters they put out forest fires
This guy is a disaster! 😂
the disaster sus in treating and I suggest make the fever deper
The dam is not making any power because the water is stuck in the hole that the meteor made so you have to raise the laind in the hole
You should double dam so if one gets destroyed you have another one
you have to remake the dam and make it lower or raise the river bed
Yeah, something is up :-)
If you want the buildings to rebuild super fast after they’ve been visited by the disaster response unit, get the Demand Zone thing mod, I do t know what it’s called but it lets you put the demand for zone to what ever you want. Really helpful mod. If anyone is seeing this and know what mod I’m talking about, tell me. So I can put in an edit and he can see what the mod is called if he wants to get it. Anyways it’s a really helpful mod, I recommend downloading it if you can find it. It helps, A LOT!!
If you type in city with 2 dams all you see is cities ckylines pics
+Piplink yeah I saw that too :-)
Saw the video went well he tried
+Kako KOS lol, never give up :-)
Biffa I've seen some flaws firstly and most importantly is that the frequency is too high or you need to lessen the difficulty or you need to make disasters your advantage like the water pumping station
The frequency makes no diff in a scenario apparently :-)
I am behind but maybe it would help to build canals along the wall in the area between the dam and the sea
deeper canals means more volume per second that can pass trough
love it
I built a city in cities skylines and I had 28 a dams spread around everywhere.
Seattle city light project three dams on the skagit river
There is 2 dams in Great Falls Montana USA
What map is this?
elan valley got 4 dams in wales / uk it supply's Birmingham
you can scroll to get exact on the budget panel
Ah they must have added that as you couldn't before, thanks :-)
Biffa: Strategy, Survival & Indie Games it works on taxes too
biffa you have a destroied school in Batman Park
Thanks! :-)
you can get the demolition mod for disasters now
Yeah I want to do it by hand so I can keep an eye on what's going on as population is so important :-)
Biffa: Strategy, Survival & Indie Games hood luck reaching the goal
Do the routes for the shelter
Cool
build more eaxpand big city land area
you ned av haspetol!!!
Anyone thinking of geography now?
dam is backwards
You don't break dams! ;)
why did you flood your city?
You didn't connect the dam to the power lines
I don't need to, it overlaps in the power thingy :-)
hele a skal skreiper
Jo b your RUclips Thunel s kom!!!!!!!!!!
