Our teacher always showed this video at lab tech school when we talked about PCR. But she never keeped musics on. Now i probably understand why. But yeah i understand why did she show this because this is very helpful. And i never got my own PCR test to work correctly in school. Good memories.
I sang along at the beginning to Zarathustra, and cracked up at the part where it reaches PEAK EPICNESS. I'll be sending this to my instructor friends for their students.
I watched this video back in 2017 while studying for my MCAT and I ALWAYS remembered it. Now I am back for some nostalgic review, 3 years later, as a second year medical student studying for STEP 1. Still as amazing as I remembered.
This is so helpful u guys cannot imagine . It's been 7 years since u posted this . Its the pandemic and students are learning from youtube . Pcr is so important. Students type in the search bar and this video comes. What a save .... I would like to thank the team .
this is amazing and pretty informative even without narration. I lowkey felt like i was watching a movie with all the dramatic and suspenseful music which added so much and kept me interested in the video. swell job!
Después de presentar la PCR más de 10 veces durante la pandemia, me he encontrado este video. Lástima no haberlo encontrado antes, ¡genial!. Muchas gracias gentes del CSIC, que os vaya bien en vuestras carreras científicas.
I have studied pcr from multiple books but today after watching your videos I learnt about pcr to the core..now I have no doubts.. n thank you so much for putting this up😃😃😃😃
This makes the # of PCR copies so clear... no one told me that sometimes variable-length target sequence DNA is counted as a copy of the target sequence too!
Thank you very much for this video, finally I understand why there is much more copies of the desired DNA region than the variable lenth DNA. GOD bless you!
Great video, in my head I was picturing the off target amplicons (the ones that are from original template and extend beyond the reverse primer) and I was picturing that you would get a amplicons of a variety of sizes over the thickness of a band of agarose. Which apparently is correct but is irrelevant as the target amplicons quickly dwarf the off target ones in number.
Learning about DNA has never been more epic.
Now this.... This is EPIC
More like annoying
was just about to say that, and then I saw your comment.
lol
totally true !
the music makes me feel like if i dont learn this the world is gonna end or something
might appear a Monolith
🤣🤣🤣
@@jirenthegray11I just wanted you to know at least 1 person understood this
Yea exactly it sounds like a Disney movie is going to start 😂
Same 😭😭
This is the kind of PCR explanation I've been searching for my whole life. Thanks so much.
Yes, but what is done with the end result in the test tube?
@@PianoGesang you can perform gel electrophoresis on it to visualize the results
@@aldurocher Is that done by laser? I can look it up myself, thanks for the buzzword.
@@PianoGesang by using uv
I can never forget this solely due to the magnificent grammy-level soundtrack
That was so dramatic lol

Yes , true
Exactly
Yaa

Hands down the most dopest video I've viewed as far as learning more about the PCR specifically the taq polymerase :D Really helped. Thanks!!!
The music makes me feel how mind-blowing is this technique
Ah yes, intense war movie music to go with some intense hard working DNA polymerases

Thanks a lot ❤❤❤
this is the most epic pcr video ever made
The background music scared the shit out of me at the beginning though
Me too!! lol
The drama. I started cracking up when the music kicked in.
I sang along at the beginning to Zarathustra, and cracked up at the part where it reaches PEAK EPICNESS. I'll be sending this to my instructor friends for their students.
This is one of the only videos which clearly explains the variable length DNA fragments that occur. Thank you so much.
The music is epic. I'm studying for my exam, and I'm feeling as dramatic as this video right now.
the music background was so dramatic and it got happy ending 😂
I watched this video back in 2017 while studying for my MCAT and I ALWAYS remembered it. Now I am back for some nostalgic review, 3 years later, as a second year medical student studying for STEP 1. Still as amazing as I remembered.

Very easy to follow illustration of the PCR process. Educational and not overly complicated so many can learn from it.
BRUUH the music, I can't.
You could make an epic trilogy with this soundtrack
That musics though....
+Ang Li epic music.
yes, 3:55 min of chronic ambivalence between "oh thanks for the useful info" and "wtf did you smoke while adding the music".
Best explanation ever
I don't understand the need for this music, but good on you folks for trying to provide educational materials.
Thanks to your video i secured about 15 marks in a 20 mark essay from my genetics exam yesterday. Thank you! :)

they made me understand this topic without actually saying a word. thankyou!
Ugh I’ve been stressing on what exactly is happening during a pcr. This helped so much thank you
I liked the epic music, it actually made me more engaged.
This music and croissant-like polymerase made me smile before my exam, thanks! I love it

Best video I've found to explain PCR! And the music was epic haha
Great video, in my head I was picturing the off target amplicons (the ones that are from original template and extend beyond the reverse primer) and I was picturing that you would get a amplicons of a variety of sizes over the thickness of a band of agarose. Which apparently is correct but is irrelevant as the target amplicons quickly dwarf the off target ones in number.
great video, but the music choice is... interesting
I muted it, felt it was way too distracting.
