@@TailosiveEV That's ridiculous. If he were to go out and buy a Model 3 that hasn't been touched since 2020 and raised a bunch of issues with software, it's perfectly logical to critique that review on the basis of being out of date, and that's exactly what would happen on a mass scale. Of course there are plenty of issues with the car/company, but the review itself had practical methodological issues.

Preach. Fisker never actually had enough money to start production. Fisker signed a production contract with Magna and we can be sure part of that contract was minimum amounts Magna would be paid no matter how many cars Magna manufactured. This meant the clock was ticking starting November 2022 and if Fisker waited until they had good software in hand to start manufacturing in earnest and delivering cars, they would lack the money to buy the parts for the cars. As things were, Fisker only had enough capital to buy parts for about 10,000 cars, which is why a year ago when Henrik was “predicting” 42,000 cars for 2023 I was predicting 10,000…and I was right. But running a production line at 25% capacity with a contract manufacturer is always going to lose you money.
Worse still, Fisker was lying about having 65,000 reservations. IF there was actually unmet demand for the Ocean then there would be a chance of getting funding to ramp production to 42,000 and maybe Fisker doesn’t lose huge amounts of money at that number. But demand seems to have been about 6,000 and a lot of used Oceans being available already makes even that number possibly high.
It is not like Fisker was fighting off buyers before that review came out. Henrik Fisker is entirely to blame, he is a pathological liar scam artist and also very very bad at being the CEO of an automotive startup.

I have been driving the FO for 6 months now and have driven about 9000 miles so far.
My driving experience with the FO has been very satisfactory. I am really surprised at the quality and equipment Fisker has delivered for this purchase price.
Anyone who has bought an FO in the early stages must also know that it is a startup. If you take this into account, you'll overlook the out-of-roundness that existed before OS 2.0. If you are not in a position to do this, then you should generally keep your hands off a startup. I myself drove a Tesla for 6 years. In the beginning, the software at Tesla was also very modest. It has developed very well over the last six years. But if you look at autonomous driving, which Tesla has also been announcing for many years, then it's better not to trust it, at least in Europe. The quality of Tesla's design, we currently have a brand new Model 3 in the company, is still a long way from the Fisker Ocean, but admittedly a big step compared to the first Model 3 we had in the company.
At least in this video it's clear what it's all about, you just have to pay attention to the background. Tesla was ahead of its time, and that's why many shortcomings were accepted in the beginning. Tesla has evolved, and the FO has more than made up for that. The basic equipment, which is already installed in high quality and equipment, will only give future software customization the right strength. I think with OS 3/4 at the latest, the FO will no longer have to hide from Tesla in this respect either. I don't even want to talk about the other EVs from German or Chinese manufacturers, where customers have to deal with the software and bugs much more.

I think my (and some others) main complaint with his review was that the title didn't match the review. The title on the other hand lacked all of those nuances and painted it as "the worst car [he's] ever reviewed".

I agree; the title and starting tone sounded like this vehicle had the worst ride in a vehicle ever, or it phantom broke every second, or the software screen just didn't work, but then the review was nuanced like you said. It sounded like a vehicle that needed some work, but I wouldn't put the seriousness of the problems he said any higher than the software/charging problems in a cybertruck, software problems in an ID4, etc. I think those cars are fine and would look out for those issues but the Fisker's issues didn't seem to rise to the level of unforgivable.

@@pan6593@pan6593 that's a good point; you do have to have eye-catching titles. I think most of the time, he is reviewing such large companies that he is usually punching up. "The main reason I could see that Fisker started transitioning away from direct to consumer sales is that they couldn't find enough customers" - yes. But the Fiskerati blame Marques Brownlee. There is a lot of cognitive dissonance from these die-hard Fisker apologists, who completely ignore all the serious problems coming from inside the company and blame any issues that they are willing to admit, on hostile outside forces. And yes, that's exactly what the CEO does too in all his misleading rhetoric.

Coming on 2 years ago when we bought our Lucid Air it had exactly the same software issues that Fisker has now. I’m not worried about that though, that’s an easy fix. What’s more important is having enough capital to stay afloat. Either way I believe there are many waiting for it to go bankrupt so they can snag it on the cheap. The ocean is a great looking vehicle and the Pear/Alaska are very promising as well. Cheers!

yea and because some influential ass decided to virally bash them before they could fix anything, they're never going to have enough capital. He severely kicked them while they were already down.

However, Fisker often works with outside advisors to help manage its business and assist in developing and executing strategies. Fisker is focused on raising additional capital and engaging in a strategic partnership with a large automaker. Fisker, Rivian, Lucid might all have the same fate in the end, high interest rates aren't helping them either and people seeing these companies having financial issues could make them stay away from them because they could go bankrupt. Wouldn't be surprised to see some major automakers swoop in and buy these companies if they run out of cash. Elon watching this mayhem waiting to strike? 😂

I think it's quite alarming that these car companies are trying to ship their unfinished cars like they're a gaming company, and only doing so because they can do updates later.
It's easier for a game company to update a game after its unfinished launch, but with cars they need to stop attempting to cut corners like this. An unfinished product in the automotive industry can cause death, not just a drained wallet and a bruised ego for buying something that isn't fully developed.
Fisker's reaction to negative reviews reeks of a company that won't last long, because they only care about profits and not the safety of their customers. And before someone says "duh they like money more than people because they're a corporation", you're right, but a successful corporation is one that can convince the masses that they have their best interests in mind when it comes to their investments, and Fisker failed to do that with this petty response.

As an owner and stock holder, i knew the risks. Fisker was clear about delivering the vehicle without its full suite of features and I accepted that. What i don't like about these reviews is these vehicles were delivered to customers with the understanding that they are not complete. We knew this. Why is it a shock? Its common practice the the first of anything will lend itself to improvements. Why is it never mentioned how Fisker rewarded its 5000 Ocean One owners with 1st set of tires free, extended 10 year free hotspot, free OTA updates, $1000 in Chargepoint credits, etc.
And i know you'll say, "they will need to still be around to get it" but it doesn't take away that it's true. If they are going to review the car, do your due diligence. MKBHD mentioned no glove boxes. That statement is not true. Both the passenger and driver can store their gloves in the compartments under the seat. Also, who tries to forces the screen to rotate with there hands?! A quick search in the manual would have directed him to the button. The vehicle has issues but it is grossly misrepresented.

The video didnt help, but seriously, if you die because of 1 review, you are dead anyways. I am surprised Fisker imploded as the hardware was REALLY nice. Their designs were what a lot of people want, normal looking cars that were electric. I still hate the look of telsa and really liked the Fisker models. They needed money when EVERYONE started to hate EVs, even Tesla. When the teslas started to freeze in chicago and stack up at the chargers, that was the peak of EV hate. Fisker was at a point where they really needed results, and the entire industry slid. Now, ford doesnt even make more electric trucks, they have paused those because they no sell. EV is the way, we need a few more years of battery tech advances and charging infrastructure to make it viable for the masses. Right now, EV is viable for the home owner commute. Which is a large market. Its not the whole market. This was probably the first time we hit the limit on who wants to buy an EV. Early adopters got one already, we are in the next wave now. The mistakes MKBHD made, was too claim that what he tested was what current owners and buyers get. However his version obviously wasn't even 1.11, probably more likely 1.08 which probably was what this particular car was delivered with 9 months ago. The used car dealer who lend him the car, hadn't done anything to get it updated. To update from 1.08 to 1.11 you'll need a visit from a Fisker technician, which they obviously hadn't done. He didn't even take the time to watch any videos of how to operate the Fisker. If he had, he would know how to rotate the screen, and he would know that the button he claimed was unmarked, is the HOME button, just like on a iPhone, it has two functions, main function is to go to the home screen, the other is to rotate the screen.
The problem with today's RUclipsrs, is that they are click bait and viewer driven, but like you have no integrity, it's all about getting views, to get the money. A traditional magazine, or news station has a Editor, who is the adult in the room.
Obviously MKBHD isn't mature enough to be his own editor, and to make sure that his content is in fact what he claim it to be. He seems to think, that just because he has lots of followers, he doesn't need to do his due diligence before posting a video.
This was a dishonest "review" all the way through, nothing but old news. If he had done it 8 months ago, it would have been correct. But with the current software, and I'm talking 1.11 not even 2.0 yet, he is way behind.
So either he is sloppy, and doesn't do his homework before his reviews, or he deliberately wanted to make a negative click bait review, to hurt a newly launched product for his own personal gain.

you seem to talk, but you don't really seem to understand what are you talking about. the reviewed car had stale software, not the current version. so how relevant is this for a new buyer???
the reviewd car was taken from a dealer that did trade-in (not a new car!), it's not an official fisker dealer. why the car was not up to date? it's probably fisker fault, but honestly the whole thing looks more like the dealer wanted some revenge because the flipping did not go that well for them (in the other video, he said he got actually 4 oceans, not just the reviewed one).

You don’t know much abojut a lot. It’s not ‘yet another’ crossover. His video is 50% positive after all, but you don’t seem to note that. You also don't understand the way media works despite hoping that your followers will listen to your every word. On the one hand you want people to be influenced by you (a RUclipsr) and yet you want people to believe Marques had no impact? Very naiive.
He reviewed a borrowed car that had been sat on a car lot for 90 days with older software. Almost all issues were fixed in version 2.0 software. Fisker is different - more ecocentric than most - yet this is ignored wholesale by you and MK. Many early adopters were ready for a rougher ride and Fisker didn;t wnat this car re3viewed for good reason - because they had worked hard at updated software . As we all know the eco emphasis is unpopular among car enthusiasts. Your mocking tone kind of shows your hand too. If you did something informative like interviewing actual owners you might have something fresh to offer.

Dude, do your freakin research (none of you influencers do anything). When people bought the Ocean One, they were aware there would be bugs and in exhange, Fisker provided them with two years of free everything, including a set of new tires to replace the other ones. Did MKBHD state this? No, if he did, then he would have known he was reviewing a vehicle that owners willingly knew would be buggy.
