You have probably already figured it out (2 years later) but with the button phone on the right I push the rear button, the button which would be at the 9 o'clock position if you were looking at a clock. I can also use my remote and lower it on my TV.

I recommend AptX / Bluetooth 5.0 earbuds those are the best. Also connecting multi Bluetooth devices can cause lag. Also try to sit closer may lower lag a little.

When I press the pairing button, it does not start blinking as it is in the video. What am I doing wrong

Mine does not blink like the video either, but when I turn it on then off, then on again a pairing beep is occurring, and the blue "charged" light blinks a few times. I know this is 2 years later, but maybe it will help someone else.
